Is it normal for the male betta to like ram the female, the 1st few times I put them together he kept doing this so I took away from each other cause the female looked like she was getting hurt. I just put them together again and at 1st he was doing the same thing but he seems to have calmed down. The female on the other hand lays on the bottom....
this is my day 3 of my breeding process on the first day my male just flared his gills and showed off his fins to her though she really didnt seem to care the next day he was doing the same thing but then she was chasing her and today still the same thing but his bubble nest is all over the top of the tank it's huge! my brother said that it takes months for them to breed (he's from cuba he said that's the way he did it in cuba but those are wild. mine are not) so how long will it take? tell me!
@blinkdelete you would want to leave the male in the container until the fry are swimming horizontally and then take him out and place him by himself in a medicated container and feed him because he will not eat during the breeding process good luck
@1pieceaznboi walmart netted usually don't breed or if they do it will take a fair amount of conditioning because of the bad care they received... You could still try tho but I would wait until they are older but not too old because younger tend to mess up the breeding process and too old fish can't reproduce so hope this helps...good luck
the female looks pretty because of her lips :) btw,do u know any way to take care of a betta fishy?plz tell me,i have 1 in my fish bowl and she's skinny o.0 she sleeps alot lol
Can you breed bettas in a community tank? cuz my betta keeps making those nests and a friend of mine has a female betta. So if i put the female in a jar next to my aquarium, so she sees the male and prepares her eggs. And then i release the female and they do the mating thingy. (btw my community tank has got 1 male betta ofc, 4 neon tetras, 5 yellow salmon fish thingys and 2 bottom cleaners.
I don't get it... SO the Female already has some eggs before mating? or do they have to mate before they both pushes out the eggs? Please explain this step. It seems to be like all my female fishes don't like my male fish at all... lol
hi well i have 2 bettas male and female they r in a little 1 gal tank (sorry so little) i dont no if its a bubblenest but the male can see the though the divider since its clear and there are a bunch of bubbles and they are stuck to each other but i dont know if its a bubblenest cuz the bubbles are small but they're not popping! are they ready to breed the problem is that when i clean the tank the bubbles r gone but then he keeps making another one
@Dylmon12 When ever you see that the plate, or leaf, or cup is full. What ever your using as long as the bottom is filled with bubbles is usually the best bet that it is complete =)
hey!, great news my betta fish embraced! but now his belly looks big and the eggs r falling to the floor and he dosent care that much. why? do you think hes eating the eggs?
Oh, that has happened to me before, i doubt he is eating the eggs and if he is that is very unusual, but if he is not picking them up and spitting them into the bubbles it sadly means he is just not a good breeding fish. I've had a couple good ones and then i had one that didn't really know what to do, so it just depends.
@vegakeat well he has a big belly now. i think hes eating them but that might just be me. i dont see any eggs in the nest but maybe there covered by bubbles or something. i just dont understand the big belly part. but someone told me that if its a betta first time they usily get it right the 2nd or 3rd time but if it happens the first time he might eat the eggs. that weird right. its his first time i dont think that hes bad at it i just think that hes getting used to it. :)
my male is like kinda taring of her tail and stuff just a bit and that normal i no. but is it normal that he starts building his nest on the 3rd day and each time he sees the girl he chases after her and then goes back to making the nest?
Well yes that is normal but you don't wanna put the female in to early, what i do, is put the female in a separate container and place it right next to the males take so that he can view her and build the nest, then when the nest is ready you put the female in with the male
How many fry did you get from this pair?
