@raggi555 Lol I know just as well as you do how oddly people can react. I'm guessing he's just a good samaritan or as I said earlier a fomer firefighter/Fire police officer.
I remember one video where a guy does this and the captain on the truck makes a hilarious comment... something like, "where gonna find him plastered on the side of the road one day"
Good video. The old E-121 (now known as Ladder 46) from Greenup IL says hey! I really enjoyed the trip to your station a few years back. You should be very proud of your FD. Stay safe out there!
Well put together video, The camera shake was a bit rough. Now sit down and put your seat belts on. You all won't be able to help anyone if you get hurt or killed. Buckle-up!!!
first, the engin laying the reverse isn't the first on scean. We got a quint ladder w/ 300 gal on the B side problem was that the hydrant was hidden in someone's yard, so when the 3rd peice, the one laying the reverse did the right thing, that was key for water. The 300 gal would be gone in notime, luckley every one showed up at about the same time, they were just pulling lines when 123 showed up.
yea that makes things alot clearer i noticed the 5 in bein pulled was pulled to the front right of E-123 instead of operator side and the handlines already being flaked, great stop on that one, but just be weary of riding the tailboard of Apparatus, its very easy to get smacked in the face with a Storz coupling!
I got a Question.....Why did the first engine Do a Reverse Lay of the 5 in, wouldnt it make more sense if for it to get on scene stretch attack lines then have E-123 do a forward lay to them?
possibly. we can have a guy hop off, and grab the hose in two seconds. so in that perspective it would be nice to have the water ready. We will have a junior on the truck prolly cause one lives right next door to the station. so he would jup off and get it. If the second truck was right behind the first one, then yeah, the first engine should go and attack. note that an engine can drain its water in a couple minutes.
The Technician at the end of the clip looks like a dancing booger... I love it. When I went through tech school, the graduating class got a picture of us riding a few 1000lb cylinders, and doing ridiculous poses on top... good times.
Sykesville is my hometown and id rather u not leave comments like tht because if you work for a Maryland Fire Department you shouldnt disrespect another Maryland Fire dept. becuase most maryland Fire Departments work together from what i know
holy shit. I never expected something from my district to make youtube. Anyways, I'm going to keep anonymous but I served at Ellicott City Fire Department and Bethany City Fire Department for three years as an EMT/Firefighter. Great Video!
From what I could see the video is pretty good, but I would really work on getting a camera mount that holds your camera steady. Some good stills, etc.
Nice video that first video part happend not to long ago i heard it go over the scanner u guys make sykesville a big differance by helping everyone in the community
Really great video of my neighborhood and the fire. But surely you could have used a better song or music. :(

thinking about it again. It would be a good idea to have the first engine hit that hydrant.
Then the second could hit a hydrant on a different main, and walla more water and more water pressure for both trucks
answer your question well enough?
