  • Timing is off 180 degrees

  • HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT

  • what school was this? i went to school to be a mechanic and kind of ran across a similar or possibly situation: teacher had just been collecting his check and students made more money on the various fed grants than they would working, so students didn't want to learn and teacher was rusty. he'd get pissed off at me for actually using the shop; usual proceedure was just to sign off on things that we hadn't actually done.

  • @bluedistortions i meant to say "or possibly worse situation"

  • @bluedistortions its CCSF. and yes, you pretty much just described the entire situation at that poisonous place. the teacher was high off his ass on hydro-codone the whole goddamn time staggering around like a zombie. it was utter madness

  • Put out a gas fire with water first huh? Lol

  • WHY AGAIN! THE TIMING IS OBVIOUSLY WAYYY OFF!!!

  • i think the firing order is off because my 1975 dodge d100 was doing that and i whent on line and fixed the fireing order and now it runs fine

  • i have a 66 nova with a 327 v8 has a 600 holly street dem manifold and carb at temp it backfires threw carb when i try to rev it up

  • @1966nova2 at what temperature does it do that? and what rpm range..?

  • @Aliensmonger about 1000 to 1400 rpms and when choke is disengaging any warm temp will do it i put on another carb and it did the same thing and i checked a ll pugs and timing and i even backed off a 1/4 turn on each rocker arm just to see if to much crank pressure??

  • yea...throw that gallon of water right in that carb! don't worry water is compressible...

  • @YamahaGuy1991 ahahahaha!!! i told em to discharge the fire extinguisher into that shit... but no one heeded my advice...

  • thats nothing

  • probably already fixed it but it's either too much gas inside the carb so make sure the floats are adjusted then make sure the timing and wires are correct and it should stop

  • Is this a Buick GS?

  • @matthewt2010 its an oldsmobile cutlass. i forget the year... it mightve been a 72 or 73. but i really have no clue. i really liked the car though

  • @Aliensmonger It's not a 73

  • @77winkleman what about a 72? is it a 72?!?!?!? ahahaha

  • @Aliensmonger its the timing chain i bet its a tuth off

  • @plasmasaw his timing is completely off. so whats happening is his spark plugs are igniting the air/fuel mixture while his intake valves are still open, and instead of being contained and producing power... the explosion just goes back out through the intake manifold and out the top of the carb

  • Thats why you are supposed to put on the air cleaner before starting the engine ;o)

  • so it can set fire to that, yeah

  • That teacher has been teaching brainless kids for too long because theres only one thing that comes to mind when i see a flame come out of the carb, and the magic word is timing! I've been into cars for only a few years and i knew that.. come on teach! And the mexicans should be looking at a book on why a car wont start and try to point out each issue until its resolved..

  • im not racist but i hate creatures that can talk (that dont know shit) ripping on mechanics so im going to pretend just to piss you off, i think he was deliberately fucking it up because he didnt want to share the fine art of fixing cars to a stupid ungreatful stinking i make up shit shitskin your the result of god taking a shit and wiping his arse nigger, thats what you are good for.we should try segregation again, how can there be no racism in a multi racial society its a crack pipe dream.

  • ahahahahaha what? i dont even get it. is this supposed to piss ME off? or maybe yer talkin about the guy with the fire extinguisher in the video, to which id inform you he's latin. ahahah FAIL!

  • no, i think it may be firing too late instead of being advanced. either way, it's timing.

  • it's either too advanced or wires crossed. did he ever get it going?

  • @DieselMechanic09 he did!!! as far as i have heard it is running like a champ right now. i wonder though... you think he needed a new carb? ahaha

  • Quite the auto shop class. You got a teacher who doesnt realize that the timing is messed up and a guy who cant operate a fire extinguisher to save his life!!! lol

  • ahahah man... if only you knew. im impressed that im still alive

  • pretty funny. Is this a high school shop class? If so, welcome to my world!!! I am the only one who actually is not scared to pull parts off of my car during class and have it running when the bell rings to go home.

  • somehow you just totally outlined that entire shop. except for the fact that its a COLLEGE level course, and its still like that ahahah. thats the thing is everyones too scared. theyd just rather stand around and peanut gallery while you work on yer shit. ohhh, and they love to go "oh shit, thats fucked up!!" while looking at things under yer hood. makes me consider improperly removing springs from my suspension while they are standing in the line of fire, ahahah

  • I rebuilt my Rochester Quadrajet during class and that exact shit happens. Two mexicans gather around and go, "Thats some fucked up shit there!" I say, "Whats fucked up about it?" And they go, "nothing about it, except that I have never seen a carburetor before!!" I started laughing my ass off right in front of them.

  • yupppp! the one that made me crack up was some bolts rolled off my fender and fell on the floor, and some asian guy standing around my shit was like "oh fuck! thats fucked! thats fucked up!" and FREAKED out. i laughed hella much, needless to say

  • i was thinking the same thing.. didnt appear to even be adjusting the idle screws much less the timing, and he wasnt content he'd only blown 5 large fireballs... you'd think he'd stop and re-analyze the situation >.>
