  • Can't wait until this guy and that other retard Zach Hill get RSI and stop impressing the ignorant hipster scene with cheap tricks.

  • holy fuckign shit come to vancouver!

  • wow, this is very pleasant

  • what the hell is this.. is that drummer even aware he has a hi-hat??

  • Buddy Rich would have had this guy for breakfast.

  • @warrenclarkable Two great drummers, two completely different genres. Buddy Rich couldn't do Lightning Bolt and vice versa.

  • lol guys in the audience look like they are jerkin' off...

  • holy fuck.. he's disgustingly awesome.

  • Fake and Gay

  • @MegaCrappyusername Let me guess.. Your tits and your mum?

  • best drummer ever period..... hahahahaha period im not even american, periods just funny

  • They stole this beat from Justin Bieber.

  • @Iamcola65 Oh theres talent there, just too fast for you to comprehend ;)

  • Reminds me of a kid banging on pots and pans. I saw them on the All Tomorrow's Parties doc, but they seem like one of those bands you can't describe without being somewhat harsh.

  • these guys will single handedly save music.

  • fastest drumming my ass. and who cares about the "fastest" drummer. this guy should learn rudiments

  • @adaminverted I really hope that band on your channel called Hate is your band and I really hope you're the drummer.

  • @BenjaminFrankenstein thats not my band. the drummer for that band is john finaldi, drummer of kungfu rick, high on crime, black september, systemic infection, suburban refugee and bunch of other amazing bands.

  • @adaminverted that guy HAS rudiments

  • @adaminverted Chippendale almost uses nothing but double strokes. Rudiments are hardly necessary for this style of music anyway.

  • someone has been trolling,i see some extra long posts

  • Is it Frank Zappa noise or just weird noise? Do they know what they're playing? It doesn't seem like it would be very difficult to just hit everything as fast as you can.

  • @darthjoey13 They know what they are playing this is one of their songs.

  • 0:14

  • 3:13

  • did chipendale say; doey doey doey doey doey, can we play frank zappa?!

  • @frungahr haha I think he said "can we play St. Jaques". Thats the name of the song thats heard afterwards.

  • The music isnt particularly enjoyable, but the noise factor is what really grabs my attention.

  • AHH!

  • Brians got not earmuffs, intense.

  • AHHH THEY"RE SO INTENSE IT"S AWESOME!!!

what are the songs their playing in this? i can't completely recognize them

  • it's called improv, baby

  • 2 towers and st. jacques

  • Strange to see Brian using a hi-hat.

  • i know rite?!

  • psychedelic garage

  • its a real shame they have never been recorded well. a lot of the recordings ive heard have a terrible drum sound. i could do a lot better... mebbe i should contact em... hmmm..

  • What kind of bass is Brian using in this video? I can't identify it.

  • gnarledified kind

  • Playing in a record store, eh?

  • ...Does Brian C.'s bass only have three strings?

  • his highest string is a banjo string.

  • Huh. I knew that already but it looked like nothing was there.

  • Comment removed

  • yessir

  • there is at least one replaced by a banjo string, i think he plays with a 5 string now with 2 banjo strings.

  • Uhh depends on the show, he has a 4 string which he uses the most that is tuned to cello with a banjo string.

  • best group ever!

  • Their definitely not as polished as most other noise rock bands, but their messiness is what makes me like them so much. So raw and out of control. If any of you haven't, I would reccommend finding their documentary entitled "The Power of Salad and Milkshakes".

  • I love that dvd!

  • @lblitzer

Blah overrated. They're really just a lesser version of Ruins, and 20 years late at that. Brian's a good drummer, but he plays the same shit in each of the 3-4 bands he's in, same singing too. Get some variety. Very limited constructions too, that one bass and drums idea will only get so far unless they can pull off shit like ZEUS! (band from Italy).

  • @KotLeopold wow they are not at all like Ruins. dont even bother comparing the two just because theres a string instrument and a drummer. different genres. Death From Above 1979 are distorted bass and drums too, but just because they have the same instruments as LB doesnt mean I'm going to look up a video of either of them and try to compare them, then name a bunch of other bands just to show off my infinite knowledge of noise. either way no drummer can beat the drummer of Despised Icon

  • @angussz

Are you kidding? Brian essentially ripped off the singing style, that's obvious. I'm not talking about videos I'm talking about sound. LB is way too simplistic. Megaghost, for example, is basically four notes over and over. In addition, their albums consist of three good songs and then a ton of bullshit chaos noise that anyone can pull off. The breakbeat style gets too old and their songs sound too similar because they're severely limiting their instruments' variety.

  • @KotLeopold Also, Zeus may also be a band with just bass and drums, but they aren't like lightning bolt just because they have gritty vocals and distorted bass. lightning bolt is simply a noisy and extremely energetic band, unlike many. they are more noise than any other bass and drums duo. and limited construction of songs is basically what noise is about. simple, energetic and spastic. Basically, Lightning Bolt is unlike any other duo. ZEUS! isn't really noise. so theres no reason to compare.

  • Wrong, BAD noise is about limiting. White Mice is probably ten times noisier and louder. LB is not really noise at all. All they're doing is riding on the stupidity of fanboys with little knowledge about this kind of music. All LB have done is rip people off without really doing anything original or good. You're right there is no reason, ZEUS! is a million times better because they can actually play and manipulate their sound with more than big amps and distortion pedals.

  • I see where you're coming from, White Mice are less-crudely produced and they push the boundaries more. It's they're style and that's what your ear is used to. My ear is attracted to an absurdly distorted bass playing the same bar over and over for 5 whole minutes. But honestly, all bands cop styles. All producers cop styles. Artists and writers cop shit. It's inspiration. But they sure aren't stealing the styles of any bands you listed. Otherwise LB would be technical and less crude-sounding.

  • WM are MUCH more abrasive and they distort to hell. Don't necessarily agree, there's a big difference between influence and downright copying. The singing, again, is lifted straight from Ruins, there's no question. Opinion is opinion in the end, I like stuff ithat has more direction and depth. Comparative Anatomy, for example, keeps their bass lines fairly simple but really makes their stuff dense with drums, samples, and the weird animal shit. Plus, their live show is more interesting.

  • @KotLeopold I'm sorry if I was misunderstood, I'm not trying to say LB are better than any band of this genre. The "deathcore" (for lack of a better term) scene is more of my forte, and the band Necrophagist started the modern guttural growls and "pig squeal" vocals, which has become a distinctive trait of metal. It doesn't mean metal bands are copying, it just becomes a trend among bands. This music has not really been mainstream in the past few decades, so trends like that are among few bands.

  • @KotLeopold But I can understand why you like those bands. I just think that since this genre is relatively underground and kind of always has been, that creations of one band that influence the several other bands who embrace a certain characteristic of that groups music is an idea that seems wrong. In many other genres, artists or bands will take a characteristic of an ideal band(s) and build around it. Sure LB uses vocals similar to Ruins, but are they the same band as Ruins in all aspects?

  • Yeah, I see your point. I guess the problem is since everything has pretty much been done I like when bands go the extra mile to be a little different in some way. Like, LB could take those Ruins vocals and make them more expansive with sampling pedals, loopers, and so forth. Little extra pep, and personally I think it would sound way better with some harsh distortion to it. You should really check out Comparative Anatomy, based on what you've said you'll probably really like them.

  • @lblitzer What kind of noise rock have you heard? Most noise rock is very chaotic and raw...

  • Beautiful.

  • jesus christ

  • lol, that sounds like crap, but it's cool. and what the hel is up with the pantyhose on hte guys head?

  • keeps his mic in his mouth.

  • whats the name of the song?

  • My God

    I love it.

  • I can barely hear the drums :(

  • thanks for re-posting this. It was the one clip I could show the folks that hadn't seen LB before and they walked away as new fans...

  • boss

  • sweet.
