I went on this when I was younger. Unfortunately the Jaws part wasn't working when I went through. The tour guide told us that sometimes when Jim Carrey was filming he sometimes like to dress up like Mother and hide in the Psycho house for the tours.

@justme85 That's a very sexist comment. I've had plenty of cranky and boring MALE tour guides. I think it's just the job. Would you want to have to say that same spiel every day, twenty times a day ,six days a week for months, maybe years. It would be interseting to know how long she has been working there. If it is only a short tie then I might agree with you. I know they have to audition a couple of times, including taking an entire tram tour and adlibbing. They usually want stand up comics.

The king kong part was probably the scariest part of the tour I ever seen. I thought he was going to really attack us. It was pretty scary for me.

I went in the 80's when I was a kid. And let me tell you, better than now, better than in the 90', it was the best in the 80's. So many great attractions - the original King Kong, not that 3D crap, Battle Star Galactica attraction, they had fun live shows like Conan the Barbarian, He Man/She Ra, An American Tail Fievel's Playground and I seem to recall Beetlejuice rockig out to a guitar with Frankenstein and his Bride. What fun times. The best. Universal Studios in the 80s

@AmericanEvita Do you remember as far back when you would get off the tram, and they would show you how special effects were done. One was the bionic woman, they grabbed someone from the audience and have them stand in front of a blue screen, then would superimpose it making her look like she was jumping high. Another was bluescreen with the person on their stomach to make it look like they were flying. I participated in one where I was on a flipped wall playing cards.

@AmericanEvita Back in like 81 or 82 (not sure which year exactly), Universal Studios had a "Castle Dracula" attraction. It was a full castle set up, you went inside and it had a cool monster show. When I went (in a 3rd grade field trip), the attraction was closed for some reason. Anyway, the Conan show, and the Beetlejuice show took over on that same spot where the Castle Dracula attraction was on. Definitely, Universal Studios had it going on back in the 80s.

they are rebuilding it now, 2010, king kong caught on fire, so they rebuilt it and it opens on july 2010, it you dont believe me just go to the universal studios official website.
