although this was probably produced/rapped while dusted out, i enjoy and appreciate it. the quirky simple beat is nostalgic for me. reminds of my days tweaking with stereo controls to "play DJ", as a kid. this is the kind of beat that comes from that type of basic thinking. i dig S.Childs, whose verse was decent. next was Ghost, with a livelier verse than the 1st. finally Rza, spitting hypest & most complex. (eg. S.Childs<GhostFace<Rza). that's my opinion, though. thoughts, anyone?
@bgreen6 I used to think this is the wackest beat on the album after the first listen but still I thought Ghostface's verse is good and the other two are not bad as well but now I think that RZA's a genious for this one I've never heard a beat similar to this one it's got this dark feel and the drum break is just great. definitely the kind of beat you'd want ghost to rap on. And now from my perspective I think you suck cause you use word like lol etc.
Yo... remember hearing this for the first time... It was kind of like that moment when Vince Carter dunked and stuck his forearm in the rim... it was a "WHAT THE??? This just fucked my head up... I gotta experience it again" moment....LOL!! This is crazy man.
The beat is definately odd but I always liked it though! Cant believe the album came out 11 years ago! I used to listen to Supreme Clientele everyday on the bus on the way to Penn State Delco. First time I heard "Stroke of Death" I though my cd was fuckin up!
Smack da jail bailbondsman, strength of 18 bronze men tall like Karl Malone mailman framed on Larry Johnson. Tony Montana blow creamy white havana joes, oh suzanna hoe pus.sy sweet banana flow. I couldn't stand this beat back in 12th grade. 10 years later, I understand. This was the pinnacle of creativity, and the RZA was on some real shit. Now you got these assembly-line rappers and their trash today. Some young rappers need to dookie on the globe.
This beat ill i dont know what the fuck yall talkin bout we had the intrumental and used to sit my room get high and freestyle to it that slight pause makes it easier to freestyle to i cant beleive im reminiscing about the good old days im gettin old lol top ten rap album from top 5 rapper
Word when this dropped in 2000, I couldn't believe what I was hearing. This joint is straight raw from the RZA's studio. 100% Lyrics...no mentions of "Haters" "Swagger Jacker" and commercial filler. Rap has really fallen off in the past 9 years.
...yea man, this shit blew my mind when i first heard it too...commercial rap is a damn downright shame, low budget lyrics and watered down filler...to all the real hip hop heads out here, keep representin the real cause we know tha deal wit the hip hop scene...1
You see what youtube will never re-create is the actual vibe associated with the song...hearing this song on your computer is different then hearing this at a block party..or just the corner..with niggas gambling..smoking..selling crack..talking to bitches...getting a lap dance from a stripper..word!
@xtrawalk - DAMN THAT'S SO TRUE!!!!! Its more than just listening to the music. It's the culture the music represented....Can never be replaced...Thats what I missed out on alot of, No regrets, but I would have loved to have banged all this out in Texas coming up as a youth.....
its a worse version of what rza did on 'run'...this track leaves a bad taste, very unsettling beat...definately not chill or mellow, some of RZA's lesser work undeniably
I'm surprised bout all the negatie feedback i'm hearin. sorry seein cant hear youtube comments. I just discoered this tune bout 3 weeks ago and first ting i noticed woz da beat. the beat is ard in my opinion.
This beat is for the real heads - new kids on the block listening to Lil Wayne will not understand why this is THE beat to freestyle to - Hip Hop used to be as good as this, now the industry is so POP that THIS seems WEIRD - to today's Hip Hop followers - TO ME, Lil Wayne and them "superstar rappers" are WEIRD - VIVE LE OLD SKOOL!

what do u mean "lol wtf is this RZA?" this is a nice beat, like the kind u could just throw down a nice freestyle to. i understand if u dont like the beat and that's ok, but dont insult it. there are other beats that made me question what RZA was thinking, like the 2nd half of "Iron Flag". i really dunno any1 that likes the 2nd half lol
hey 'rock lee' take that naruto bullshit else where, this beat is wack. There is only 2 notes in the whole fucking song, one of which is out of tune.. you cant tell me that shit is hot, I love RZA but DAMN RZA WHAT IS THIS?
just bcuz the beat is simple doesn't mean its a bad beat. maybe he chose this 4 them 2 have a quick, good freestyle over or something, it is a little less than 2 minutes long (i made the vid a little 2 long if any1 did not notice). a lot of ppl like this beat so he obviously did something right. its alright if u dont like the beat, but just bashing it isnt right. and leave my name out of this, it has nothing 2 do with the song lol, though i wish i had made my name different...
No hate, but this album aint exactly old school. I'm 34, so to me, this is on the border of newer shit. And Rza had made HUNDREDS of beats that murdered this one. Ya'll been hoodwinked, bamboozled, lead astray...
i remember when i first bought this joint the scratch threw me off too i used to skip this joint i look back now the song was cool.i agree this beat cant fuck wit alot of rza's earlier joints
Somebody get this kid a soulja boy album because this beat is to far advanced for his ears. This beat is bananas!!!!!! Rza did an interview some years back and said this was a beat that he had and made a mistake and left it on a loop so he decided to keep it and they just came up with lyrics on the spot. This shit is classic!!! " Tony montana blow/creamy white havana jo's/oh suzana hoe/pussy sweet banana flow...fuckin classic.
I, swear RZA made this beat on mistake somebody bumped the turntable then they all loooked around and said record that shit. I love this beat though and ghost and RZA's verse.
I realize I've already left a comment for this video, but I'm inspired again. I listen to this song every other day, at least. I'm convinced that there's no better combination on a record than Ghostface and RZA. Something about their two styles that blend fantastically, though they contrast so much. Ahh, I'll leave room for others to post. This song is the shit -- enough said.
This track was so ill it instantly became one of my top 3 favorites on the album. Yeah it's an EXTREMELY unorthodox beat but it's kinda showing that they can rhyme over ANYthing.

Ur right about RZA and Ghost. as nice as Rae and Ghost flow together, RZA and Ghost is even better.

This track was so ill it instantly became one of my top 3 favorites on the album. Yeah it's an EXTREMELY unorthodox beat but it's kinda showing that they can rhyme over ANYthing.
