  • I'd like to see @lindseystomp and Kyle do a duet.

  • Is this a new p-120? The keys seems new to me.

  • @Suntaste92 It's almost an 8 year old keyboard now. :p

  • I vote that you try recording this song again... it sounds amazingly awesome and it sucks that we missed even a small portion of it :(

  • this is genius!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Amazing as usual... man, you just never disappoint...

  • When (& if) my books get published, when (& if) one of them becomes a movie and when (& if) I get to screenwrite the film, I know whom I'll ask to compose its soundtrack. :)

  • Listening to Kyle while doing work...life is good :)

  • Has anyone noticed that the title says Unifinished?

  • @Consequentiality of course not.. it's not like it's the title or anything................

  • i showed my piano teacher your vids, and she is utterly amazed by you

  • @ImAGrateSpellr tell her i said hi

  • So who all liked this before watching?

  • You still continue to amaze me, Kyle.

How long have you been playing the piano ? I Wan't to get a rough estimate at how long it will take to get half as good as you -__-

  • This is your best improvisation so far Kyle.

  • @doelman no it isn't... improvisation no79 is..

  • You... not are a gift, you are a god! We really LOVE your music, Kyle :3

  • Still loving your work Kyle. You're sounding fantastic.

  • You also have a gift promotecheese2010, and when you'll find it, you'll be happier !

A gift doesn't mean no work, it means you found what you have to discover in your life. And when it is, it become an evidence :)

  • You play with a lot of contrast in themes, styles and dynamics. It's a very fun musical journey in this particular piece. Great work, keep it up!

  • I set this song as my alarm clock song, so I can hear it every morning :))

  • Instead of just improvising, you should compose! Add some other instruments to this piece and you will get the attention you deserve!

  • @poloisbored he does compose :) check out his albums...

  • is this improvisation??

  • @MusicMagnus No. That's why it's called "improvisation no83".

  • Transcribe that! I dare you.

  • @123476565656 I am actually thinking of doing it.. however I always start transcribing things and barely ever finish... I MUST finish other oens!! MUST LOOK AWAY FROM THIS EPIC!!! AHHH! xD...

  • Just wanted to let you know that you're the main reason I have inspiration to practice on my piano every day. You truly are a master of your craft, keep up the great work.

  • Soooo Beautiful =)

  • It saddens me how Kyle doesn't have a larger fanbase:(

  • @benbob9000 well get the fuck over it

  • I really like listen your impros... I see you really understand the music... you like debussy ;)

it has a lot of styles in there... great!! check also mine imrpovs... I am sure you will like it!

  • some parts of this song are good for a Kingdom Hearts Game or something else...

  • You must continue this video Kyle! make this part one of two, and in the next video implement your "really intense" ending!

  • bravo! T_T

  • Not sure if you've ever answered this question before. Just curious as to what keyboard you're playing :)

  • You should give this song a name. I would even buy the sheets when it's been transcribed : )

  • This is not an open piano, so I can't make the joke that Jerry is running inside of the piano. This has to be real. c_c You're remarkable, you're marvelous, you're magnificent, you're astonishing, you're astounding, you're fabulous, and you're stunning. Congratulations.

  • Absolutely beautiful. It's so... stylish :D I love the romantic sound of this piece.

How many years have you been playing, Kyle?

  • @NonsenseEncoder101 You must be new. Welcome to the kylelandry fanbase

  • @DavidRussell323 Actually I've been a fan for, um, somewhere around 9 months? (So not new but not a fan from the beginning) :P Why do you say so?

  • it's weird... it's like every other improv you do is AMAZINGLY SEXY and the ones in between are too weird... Improvisation no79 was AMAZINGLY SEXY (especially the ending.) then improvisation no80 was like wtf..? and then improvisation no81 was AMAZINGLY SEXY, and improvisation no 82 was like wtf..?? (just doing the same thing over and over.) and then this one is AMAZINGLY SEXY!!!11 Stop doing weird improvs in between, and just keep them SEXY like this one!!!!

  • @charliebucket47 You though Improv 80 was weird? I thought it was amazing. The Waltz part at about 3 minutes in has to be one of my favourite pieces to listen to.

  • @charliebucket47 That's the thing though Charlie, no82 was supposed to be like that. I sat down with the intention of composing an Etude on the spot. There was a reason for the repetitiveness in the technique. :p

  • @kylelandry ooohhh... that explainz.

  • finally a sexy one

  • Kyle, do you know how AWESOME you are?!? :)

  • What key are you in towards the end of the piece? About the last 25 measures. Thanks

  • Wonderful as always Kyle!

  • i think this piece as all the emotions wrapped up in it!! intense and brilliant at the same time!! you have a wonderful piano technique!! Chris

  • When will you do a livestream again? :D

  • Sounds like a soundtrack for an old 50s mystery film. Love it <3

  • Ok I can't take this anymore. We all learn something every day and here is my two cents to help people sound smart: A "SONG" has words, this is called a "PIECE". By the way, wonderful piece.

  • @kylelandry y u no tape headphone cable to back? Good improv though, really enjoyed it.

  • i like it, there is something impressioniste inside, bravo

  • Kyle you should have deleted other recordings in the piano:P I always do this by standard now. 2 weeks ago I was recording a hard Kapustin piece, and at take 12 I finally got down the chardest part off the piece recorded. But then the freaking red light started flashing and than you know you're screwed.....

  • @L4RSLink Kapustin is the man, and yeah, I would have, but I need to get the other tracks on my computer first. :\

  • I hate it when people say Kyle has a "Gift". He worked hard for years and years to be able to do this. Talent or no talent....

  • @promotecheese2010 true... but anyone else who works even harder than him will never be as good. that's where the "Gift" part comes in...

  • @promotecheese2010 yeah but he does have a gift. Many ppl try and work hard to be good but you have to have some talent or gift to get this good no matter how much one works. To be able to improvise, to make stuff sound like todays music with your own twist? thats all the person.

  • @musicgirl214 facepalm

  • @promotecheese2010 That's like saying Mozart was nothing special. He was just more ambitious. There is such a thing as natural-born talent, even if you have to work for years to make it shine.

  • @Zanian19

Actually if we're bringing this scientifically, there is no such thing as natural born talent. A human baby is not born with the ability to play the piano, it's not genetic. I'm pretty sure that when he first played the piano, he wasn't pretty good. If you work for years to make it shine, it's not natural born talent, but hard work and dedication :)

  • @promotecheese2010 I don't think anybody was implying otherwise, even though I practise for many hours I very much doubt that I could get as good as that, to be as good as that you must have talent in the first place AND have it nurtured.

  • i played this video, lay on my bed and get lost in the moment

  • how many hours do you spend your time with this piano?

    more than 24hours i guess :p

  • More improve Kyle, that was awesome! Your hands just decided everything. The alternations in moods... it was just pure poetry.

  • you, sir, are a fountain of creativity

  • excellent :p

  • Kyle du bist wundervoll <3 :)

  • H-O-L-Y S-H-I-T :o

  • Kyle, all these improvs and things are excellent, but i can't find anywhere to buy or download them, is there a way??

  • @TheSub21x There's a way but I dont know if Kyle wants people downloading his music.

  • @TheSub21x sure google for "free youtube downlaod to mp3". download this track and enjoy : )

  • Pfffff you're so good, I make piano covers too but when I listen to you I think it's pointless..

  • its seem keep making improvisation for ever ..today #83 .. after 2 years it will be improvisation #9994154384 ..LOL ..

    its great one

  • Beggining sounded Scrjabinish, in taste!

  • Comme à l'habitude, une interprétation d'une grande qualité, plaisante, agréable, captivante...un grand bonheur.

    Bien amicalement.

  • from 5:30 to 6:00 it feels like we should be fighting a boss in a video game somewhere...fucking epic.

  • my favourite still remains no80 :)

  • I can listen to your music over and over, it's so beautiful that you even took me out of a depression a few years ago. This is also the reason why I started playing the piano on my fourteenth (now eightteen).

Then, I played your Can You Feel The Love Tonight on my school. After I finished, my music teacher came to me and said: "Wow, this version sounds so hard to play and so beautiful. I want you to have an extra A+ for whatever test you like.

    Thanks Kyle, ur awesome.

    Lin Schutz

  • @neunbreaker

I don't know man.. he did a cover of a R&B/Pop song perfectly fine.. I feel that his classique touch makes things better.. IMO.

  • Kyle, how important do you feel learning piano pieces is to your improvisation? I feel I improvise pretty well, but I don't know how to do anything other than improvise. Do you feel that learning songs has helped your improv?

  • @ChickityChoice 100% yes. Especially for learning/understanding a good variety of different styles, and periods of music.

  • I.love.youuuuuuu!

  • Kyle will be never able to play jazz.. his skills are just too much classic XD

  • Magically!

    Love this great music.

  • Loving the jazz stuff, and the beginning was really cool with the minor keys you used

  • How can you play a music that lasts 10 minutes on pure improvisation without having practiced it at all, and it is so perfectly wonderful?!!!!

I dream of the day I will be able to do that too!!!! Just wondering by the way: How long have you been learning piano to able to play like you do?

  • Is this based on the first movement of Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata? There are parts that sound fairly reminiscent.

  • 302 CLUB :D

  • musicians feel emotion....deeper then people, but they put that sense of emotion..into their music playing so others can feel it to...... I my friend have felt that emotion hearing this..

  • I love all your videos i watch them everyday.

Please Kyle i would love to hear you play radio protector by 65daysofstatic.

Please thumb this up so he can see it and maybe play it.

  • Nice video once again . . . I always love your improvisations. I play piano also, and have been trying to get better at improvising, since up until now I have stuck strictly to sheet music. Do you have any general tips? Also, is there a certain way you learned how to do those amazing runs (like at 2:44) or is it just lots of practice? I can do them ok but only after multiple tries of the same one, not simply on the fly like you.

If you feel like replying, thanks in advance.

  • @SamScheff Lemme know if you find out anything! I could use the same advice :l

  • @SamScheff Runs shouldn't be too difficult if you're good at scales. Though a lot of 'runs' are completely different and far more complex than anything you'd find in a scale, but nevertheless major/minor scales are a good foundation to work from. :D

  • @440HertzPiano Thanks for the advice. Man, I love looking through comments on Kyle's videos. It's like a safe haven where people that comment are actually respectful.

  • Is that piano you were playing on still being manufactured?

  • Hi Kyle, you're definitely a big inspiration of mine, how many hours a day do you practice usually? Or rather... "Play" because it isn't really "grueling practice" when you're passionate about something.

    Ty for your time.

  • @Wk4fGiga Apparently Chopin practiced 2-3 hours a day and he advised "hard concentrated practice" is better than mindlessly repeating passages over and over. He recommended no more than 3 hours to his best students, this is from what I read in several history books though. I've asked Kyle that question many times, I think that's the one question pianists absolutely hate being asked. haha!

  • @440HertzPiano Coincidentally, I don't recall ever practicing more than 3 or so hours in one sitting, that is just too much.

  • @kylelandry cool you're answering everyone's questions xD!!!!!11 Hey Kyle, I was just wondering, what do you think of doing a Q & A video like Sherry Kim and Lara did??

  • @EliseLovesKyle although he is a good looking guy and has amazing piano skillz... he is very shy. that's why.... :o

  • @kylelandry That makes sense. I can never practice any more than 2 hours in one sitting. Maybe 4 hours divided throughout the day. 5 hours on some weekends. 6 is the absolute limit before my brain explodes. :D

  • @440HertzPiano ru good at improvising?

  • @charliebucket47 Not particularly.

  • @440HertzPiano ohh.. because if u were, i was gonna trick you into practicing for 7 hours so ur brain explodes and then i could pick up the pieces and eat em and then they would get added to my brain so i could be better at improvising kuz i'm really bad rite now

  • @charliebucket47 No but I can practice some Chopin for 7 hours. Do you want to learn to play some Chopin or can you already do that?

  • @440HertzPiano 7 hours? That's crazy! I'm a beginner, and I love to practice, but after couple of hours my brain is starting to overheat :P.

  • @440HertzPiano nah i can already do anything off sheets. i just can't improvise. :p

  • @440HertzPiano I made a sarcastic response to charliebucket47, I don't actually practice 7 hours. I agree with you, that's too much. 2-3 hours is the best, 4 hours is my maximum. :D

  • So you're making all of this up as you go? That's freakin' BEAST!

  • Ah, the ending cut off...forever lost to the world~

But I rejoice in the 10 minutes of pure genius before! :D Always love your work.

  • Do you like the P120 better than the other piano?

  • just came from one of your orginal compostions. i thought ur sappy sunday was better but... oh who am i kidding! all of ur compostions are very goods. i enjoy drawing anime to all of them!

  • How many times have you practice just to remember this song? Just wondering.

  • @kylelandry = 2nd Chuck Norris!!!

  • @MrMorrelo Kyle is better than Chuck Norris.

  • @GamingAirlines the title says IMPROVISATION

  • @GamingAirlines its an improvisation

  • @GamingAirlines Hence the title. "Improvisation".

  • @GamingAirlines "Improvisation", noob.

  • @GamingAirlines

It's an improv. He plays it spontaneously, hence the 0 times practice.

  • @GamingAirlines Ever considered reading the title of the video? It says "Improvisation", which means he did not plan a single note for this video.

  • @GamingAirlines Remembering improvs is a really hard thing to do.

  • Abrupt ending made me sad :[

  • @enzo275 It's too bad, the ending was really intense...

  • @kylelandry What are the odds you could remember the ending and just record that part for us?

  • @kylelandry I bet you got inspiration from Gershiwin for that improv haha.

  • Kinda reminds me of One Winged Angel at some parts.

  • Kyle sorry for off-topic but probably for now here You will be checking comments. Love your playing and after i've heard you playing inception I went to the shop and changed my psr for arius 141. You are trully inspiring me. Thank You :D Best from Denmark.

  • I still don't get how it's possible to just... do this on the spot.

    Well done as usual!

  • I can always go to one of your videos and hit the like button before it even starts.

  • @kylelandry can you do Clocks cuz ur awesome and stuff or Viva la Vida!?

  • HERMOSO!

  • Have I told you lately that I love you?

  • what key was you playing in

  • @KleinZaffre looks like C natural minor to me, but i could be wrong

  • @YellowUmbrellaLove There is no key at all, completely free from a tonal center.

  • @kylelandry Aha yeah I actually realized that after I saw that there was like a billion key changes and whatnot, which didn't make sense. lol =P

  • @KleinZaffre Either that or Bb Minor

  • thank you kyle. i just watched micthemicrophone's latest vid and i really needed this to get my mind off of it.

  • Amazing :)

  • kyle landry, you make we want to philosophize about life.

  • very nice, I assume by "improvisation" that you made this up all on the spot? If only I could do that, I'm still working on putting chords to a melody, you're such a role model for me and many others!

  • New keyboard, Kyle? :)

  • @daannielism This keyboard is probably older than most of my fans. :p

  • @kylelandry

    LMAO! xD

    How old is it?

  • @Flowingspirit05 I was exaggerating, it's 7 years old, going on 8... but that's really old for a keyboard.

  • @kylelandry Hadn't thought I'd seen it in a while, I'm used to seeing the P155 and going "oo I have the same!". Keep up the good work as always, LOVED the rihanna cover btw!

  • kyle, would you have any tips for an intermediate player attempting to improv? I improv often and can come up with nice melodies and what not but NOTHING close to this. Any tips on how to improve my improv skills? A reply would be greatly appreciated.

  • I love the switch to jazz at 2:19 !! :D

  • Really beautiful, thank you Kyle. =)

  • touches heart.

  • very impressive

  • wow, logged on at the right time hmm what could i be first at? damn, all that's left is first dislike... no, just can't do it

  • I feel so hipster when I get to see a video before the majority of others .-.

  • @YellowUmbrellaLove We liked it before it was mainstream.

  • @YellowUmbrellaLove

Are rivers too mainstream for you?

Do you burn your tongue on pizza because you always eat it before it's cool?

  • aww kyle beat me to first............... :(
