I think people were being cranky about the winners because it was suppose to be flower INSPIRED and the first and third are literally flowers. Only the second one is INSPIRED by flowers, the other 2 were too literal.
I personally don't care, all 3 of them were more talented than I am.
the first one was the most gorgeous by far... this contest wasn't about what was the most wearable... it was about flower inspired make up and those who kind of went outside the norm won! The idea is to break barriers... not to do the same old thing.

I liked winner # 2's interpretation. I also thought it was "inspired" not a mere copy paste of the flowers on your face! #2 really re4presented the flower whilst still making it look real, something one could actually wear. The three of them got the talent but #2 was my fave! Congrats!
I was expecting that the shading, texture and colours of the flowers were supposed to act as inspiration and guidelines to how you would go about expressing them onto your face... but then I saw the exact flowers drawn on their faces... i believe it somewhat lacks creativity. No.2, however has expressed her impression of the orchards quite well, and I commend her for that.
Congrats to the winners. Pity about the sour-grape remarks by some posters, but the world is full of people far to ready to bitch and moan. Well done, Lauren, on a great contest and take heart from the positive comments here! xx
i think when u r creating something, designing something, u look for something that inspired u (the flowers here), but u dont have to use them literay. i mean, if this was supposed to be a "who draws better flowers contest" then they should have won.but ppl should have been inspired by the flower and translate it to the design (sorry my english is not good).

It WAS a flower inspired look. 2 out of the3 winners chose to interpret their inspiration by drawing more realistically and one chose to use the colors and certain elements of the flower. Their looks, although more literal translations are still inspirations, because they used makeup to make the looks, they didn't paste a flower on their face.
Lauren's rules were open...so one could have done just the colors of a flower OR if one had the drawing skills draw the actual flower.
Thos were soooo amazing, i could never do anything like that. I would love to learn how to do the second one because i could wear that any were! I love the winners you chose
In my opinion I think the winners did a great job, they were very creative. Not everyone thinks that way... why because ( drum roll) Opinions are like assholes we all have them. then bitch when one of them farts... or in this case the opinion is expressed. I think Lauren did a great job judging. If you don't like it hold you own contest and give away 1,000 dollars worth of makeup... stop whinning that you didnt win. I have never seen such sore losers in all my life.
Congrats to the winners but I also agree that there should have been some variety in the flowers. MissChevious did an awesome geisha one that I personally thought was better than the star gazer lillies. But they still do better than me so, kudos to you guys

Congrats to all that one, but I am confused when I entered I thought it was flower inspired look?? 2 out of the 3 where them actually drawing the flowers on their face...I could have done that, but I thought it was to obvious...oh well...good for them I guess lol

It WAS a flower inspired look. 2 out of the3 winners chose to interpret their inspiration by drawing more realistically and one chose to use the colors and certain elements of the flower. Their looks, although more literal translations are still inspirations, because they used makeup to make the looks, they didn't paste a flower on their face.
Lauren's rules were open...so one could have done just the colors of a flower OR if one had the drawing skills draw the actual flower.

In my opinion I think the winners did a great job, they were very creative. Not everyone thinks that way... why because ( drum roll) Opinions are like assholes we all have them. then bitch when one of them farts... or in this case the opinion is expressed. I think Lauren did a great job judging. If you don't like it hold you own contest and give away 1,000 dollars worth of makeup... stop whinning that you didnt win. I have never seen such sore losers in all my life.

Congrats to the winners but I also agree that there should have been some variety in the flowers. MissChevious did an awesome geisha one that I personally thought was better than the star gazer lillies. But they still do better than me so, kudos to you guys

Exactly. it's her contest. It's makeup whether you like it or not, though. Things like that are done for fashion, movies, photography, etc. The second one was amazing, though.

What this shows is a lack of professionalism in this kind of contests from the organizer part. The fact is that the tittle says clearly *Flower inspired makeup and not body painting!

Better yet, all who complain - why don't go through over 400 entries yourself - take all that time away from your family and then buy prizes with your own money or go through your personal makeup supply to give to the people you thought should win. WE do agree that this was a make-up competition, if nr. 1 and 3 are winners, i would expect that the look is something you would see on the street, no, sorry, its something you dont see on the street, its something you would see at a carnival, to me Make-Up is something you can wear everyday and this is just it, you cant!
