thank you very much. I've been dealing with this problem half a year and now it has gone. I couldn't remove the wgatray.exe at first either, but I followed the advice which said that I need to use Task manager and stop Wgatray from running. THEN I immediately deleted it from system32 folder. Thank you again.

@rsplayer55ify Open up task manager and end the wgatray process. In order to do this right-click on the taskbar beneath the desktop and click on Task Manager or "Start Task Manager" on Windows 7. When task manager is open go to the "Processes" tab (second tab) at the top. Now look for a process called "wgatray" or something like that. Then right click on it and then click on "End process". You must do this as quick as possible then delete wgatray.exe.

An alternative is to use Unlocker Google it

if WFA does not delete:Open a Command Prompt window by clicking on Start -> Run. Type CMD and press OK.

Change Directory into the System32 Folder (type cd \windows\system32)

Open a Notepad window and type the following lines:taskkill -IM wgatray.exe...This should kill the wgatray.exe process from the Taskbar. delete it now hopefully it will get deleted. then continue rest of process

Another way to do this is to go to windows updater click installed updates search for KB971033 then uninstall it restart your computer and then go back to updater and click to hide it. problem solved

This usually doesn't work in windows 7. you have to search for slui.exe in the search bar in the start menu. open file location the delete the file.
