this is gonna be great for the rangers and zherdev

1)the rangers get a great dangler who can score

2)zherdev gets a good set up centre (gomez) and prob a wing that won't hogg the puck like nash doea (and cbj fans don't bash cuz he deserves to hog that puck all he wants cuz hes great)

3)zherdev is a nice fast player who will work well with a speedy centre and a nice tough guy

all in all great pick up

Zherdev is the best player the Rangers picked up this offseason. Redden and Naslund are typical Sather moves though...both are going to be busts. As for Dmitri Kalinin...I don't know, we'll have to wait and see.

what makes you think they will both be busts. Redden has been declining a lil bit, but he still puts up great numbers and is one of the top defenseman. Him paired with staal will be a great pair if they are together. naslund aswell, has consistantly put up good points. we got him at a fairly cheap pric4e considering the salaries other people got. for only .5 more a year then jeff finger, we get markus naslund, thats a good deal in my book

i dont know about prime, he's scored 40+ goals a few times earlier in his career. dont think he'll do that, but i could see 30 for sure

Redden's stock has gone down greatly since the lockout, epsecially last season, in which he had 38 points in 80 games(ok numbers). Maybe a change of scenery is all he needs, but the Rangers have always had chemistry problems, and that's the thing...he'll put up decent numbers, but i don't think he'll be what the Rangers are looking for in a defenseman. As for Naslund, he's past his prime now considering that he's 35 and that his #s have steadily declined since 02-03(in goals and points)We'll see

well his numbers have been down because he played in vancouver, and they played a defensive system, that just seemed offensively challenged. they didnt really have the offensive weapons to have anyone put up good numbers
