@SlapdashRhapsody If you want to add videos, photos, text, and audio, I'd recommend getting PhotoDex Pro Show Gold. It is far superior to Photo Story.

Bill: Is there a way to insert an empty page into PS3 ? I want to create a header that is not a line over a picture, but a separate page. I can not import a notebook page but need a jpg file.

The only way I see it now is to scan a page and store it as jpg in "My Pictures" but that seems so awkward. Any thought?

@guerillabill Yes, thank you. I was able to insert an empty page into power point, fill in some text, give it a blue background and then save it as a jpg file. That made it easy to import into PS3

Is there any way to create effects between the photos, transitions are OK, but I find that Photo Story really limits the amount of creativity available, although it is easy to use.

The big advantages of PhotoStory are that it is easy to use and free.

If you want more control, more effects, use something like Sony Movie Studio.

Terrific info as always Bill. Top notch. However I had a problem on my first attempt. Downloaded okay and I produced a great 3 minute slide show and saved it as you instructed as .wmv. But when I uploaded it to Youtube I got a 'cannot convert your file'. So I repeated the saving and uploading again. Still no joy. Any thoughts?

Bill, I took a tip from your DVD Workshop. One day after uploading my PS3 story to YouTube, it was number one in a Google video search for 'DIY Catamaran' and 'DIY Sailboat'. Google really does favor YouTube videos. You're a genius.

Thank you, Bill, this little program is actually quite capable. Two tips: You can 'fade' text in and out (not a feature) by using two or three identical pics, with the text on one pic only; also, I discovered a project must be saved before rendering or changes are not rendered. My long saga with the sound mix finally turned out nice. Have a look if you want to see my first 'story'. Thanks again. Your tutorials are the best of YouTube.

Thanks for the great tutorial. I installed it, spent this entire day scanning photos and creating a 37-pic narrated show with Photo Story 3. The preview looked and sounded perfect, but after saving for PC viewing as you showed, the canned sound overwhelmed the narration, no matter how low I set the volume. If anybody has a fix, chime in.
