no wonder they released the neogeo cd,cuzz it will drastically reduce costs.

cuzz the cartride based system requires catrides wich were bulky and very expensive, nor they can store up to 716mb wich is incredible.

they could made a cd addon but this stand alone sytem would make more presentible but the loudtimes were very slow.

@johneymute they had prototype cartridges up to about 900MB but the cost was just way over the top, yes CD's where cheper but but the Neo Geo cd was very slow at loadin so not good for the fighting games that need to load all the time

The Neo Geo CD was same at graphics they only changed to CD to go after another market  a market that couldnt afford the cartriges. The CD version took far too long to load and it had crappy game pads.

it's not all that bad, the music was better and the controller with the d pad is my favorite of the neo controllers

Do you mean AES? MVS is the actual arcade system. AES is home system

mvs, aes and ngcd have the same hardware (68000 processor etc) but the neo geo cd has cds instead cartriges. the graphics are identical ... the loading times on ngcd are of course much longer
