  • I wonder how easy it would be to trade a mustang for an escape xD

  • @TheAustinFleming lol if i had the escape i wouldnt trade it at all :)

  • YEAAA

  • @milldabeast519 - Congratulations; you're a tool! Nobody gives a shit that you can ride your little bicycle up a hill. Guess what?! I rode my bicycle up that same hill on the same day! Right before AND after making this video! I must be as cool as you!!! OMFG!! We should TOTALLY be BFFs!!!!!

  • if i can do it on my bicycle then its not impressive. and i could bike up that tiny hill

  • you finnaly got a piece of the pie?

  • Definetly not a problem of a hill for a Ford Escape!

  • what were you ESCAPEing from? :D

  • I might get one of these and do a sas, and 9inch in the rear, 36s woot

  • Great car !

  • Range Rover Freelanders are total garbage. They're build quality is so bad that Range Rover got hit with a class action law suit. Google problems with this vehicle and you'll find all kinds of stuff. Steer well clear of the Freelander and get the Ford or Jeep. Domestic parts are much cheaper anyway.

  • Wait, I need some help here. Are the 4WD models part time 4WD or is it all time 4WD? Does it have a lever to engage 4WD? Does it also have low range? Basically, in my Wrangler, I have to engage 4WD high or low, any other time it's in 2WD (rear). Is that the same here? Looking to buy an Escape and rather hear it from actual owners..

    Thanks

  • @asored2000 The earlier year models had a knob to select "4x4 or Auto" and the newer models are full time AWD. There is only one gear and thats high. Its like a 70/30 split if I remember. If you're looking for a vehicle that can truely off road, stick with your Jeep. If you're looking for a vehicle with much nicer road manners and can get you through some snow and through some back roads, the Escape is pretty nice. The Escape is normally FWD. I have an '05 LJ, I like it more then my old Escape.

  • @squarecrab Thanks, appreciate the help. The Escape would be a second vehicle (daily driver) and the wrangler will be the weekend off roader. I need something practical, good gas milage, cargo room and road trip friendly. Right now, the jeep on a 3" lift and 33" tires is killing me as a daily driver on long commutes. I see Ford is running a Labor Day special until the 7th. I think I'll go check them out.

  • @squarecrab or if u want the "off road" version of this car get the land rover freelander... i believe that the diff settings are made to 50/50 torque split...

  • @asored2000 Dude stick with the Jeep...

  • you need a bmw e30, for hillclimbs AND autocrossing xd

  • To the ones that are confused about the (4WD) If your Ford Escape is 4WD it is either AWD or you have a knob inside that says 4X4 or Auto. You just cant put the Escapes is 2WD. Not sure on the year but i know 01-02 you have a choice. We own a 06 Limited and its AWD. These Escapes are beasts in the snow and mud. If they had more gound clearance they would out due most SUVs.

  • @cessnaid Are you calling me a retard?

  • @squarecrab idk did you see my date 4 month ago!

  • also author of the vid were did you get that escape roofrack those are hard to find. let me know thanks..

  • go to your dealership... they come as an option

  • The rack on mine was because it was a "No Bounderies" edition. It was only available for them and to be honest, it looks like a pain to put them on and requires drilling new holes into your roof.

  • nice vid. it is hard to tell if its awd or not. i think it is awd though. me an my friend tried taking his 2006 fwd up a hill and it didint to crap.

  • Some came as AWD some just came as FWD. It just depends on the vehicle. Check the rear suspension and see if you see a rear diff on yours.

  • @awd4x theres no model in awd its olny 4wd i know its the same thing i just wanted to tell you . well on 4wd you can shut the 4wd off for it to be 2wd and awd its always on

  • what is the difference between escape and maverick? are the car parts compatible?

  • is it awd? it didnt look like the back tires where spinning

  • it is just that the back wheels had more traction so they spun less than the front ones which had less traction so less horsepower from the wheels went to the ground

  • @gvprinceof06 no its not awd drive its Automatic 4x4 witch means the rear wheels will kick on when the fronts start to slip but i guess this vid they didnt slip enough to where the rear wheels didnt have to come on

  • it just want a posi or a limited-slip rear end.

  • I have 2001 escape and like the look of 2005 - 2007 Headlight and was wondering if it would be compatible with the 2005-2007 one.

    And Also Another question;

How can I make my exhaust sound a little more powerful when I throttle like in the GM bigger engine one's

And one more quick thing, How can I increase the height of my escape or lower it?

Please do let me know, Thank you

  • Yes, well, sort of. Those were '05 headlights on my '02. You need to wire them up to work correctly. Only way to change the exhaust is to change the muffler. I suggest looking up the Magnaflow muffler for the Escape. I liked the way that one sounded. Also, there is a company or two out there that make lift kits for the Escape but since its FWD it can not lift very high. Look up a company called Canuck Motorsports, they make lift springs for the Escape.

  • what year is this escape?

  • 2002

  • if u drop abit of air out of your tyres you might be able to get abit more grip. But nice video overall

  • If ya only get 20mpg and you like wheeling, you might as well get a truck with a 2spd transfercase. Overall I say it didn't do too bad being that its a 4X4 car.

  • I sold it and bought a Jeep. I get about the same mileage as the Escape.

  • it is a poor craftsman who blames his tools

  • What? Who was blaming anything? Its a good moto but relates to nothing that has been said here.

  • "stupid tires making me slip"

i was joking, thats just something my dad says anytime i have a complaint about anything mechanical

  • The tools inability to do it's job is something to complain about.

  • woosh

  • love the ending

  • cool where was that at!?

  • An OHV area in SoCal. Right off Ortega Highway.

  • i have a 2005 ford escape with 32,000 miles. my parennts dont use it because. IT wastes to much gas. so i only use it to go to school and home. Its a good suv the only thing that since its for 4x4 use it jumps to much on the road.

  • I get about 20mpg on the highway, its not that bad. If your Escape is "jumpy" than you need to check if the wheels are balanced, and check to see if the shocks/struts are still good. Mine rides fairly smooth on the freeway, I just need to balance the tires and get an alignment.

  • sweet, I'm 18 and still have my 2002 escape I bought from my dad during high school

  • was that in 2wd? the bakc wheels didnt seem to spin...Its doubledee90 from E-C Btw

  • I left it in "auto" mode. I am sure it transferd some power....I think.

  • ooh ok...Yeah as you probably know i have an 07, therefore there is no selectable 4wd mode. Which do you usually use?

  • I usually just leave it in Auto. I was going through a rocky river bed a few weeks ago and I had just left it in 4wd mode.

  • You think the auto works just as good?

  • HOLY FREAKIN GAWD, MAN!!!

  • lol ....sweet
