  • I will continue to pray and enjoy Jens music. Much of her music is about struggle. May we find it in our hearts to deal with our own sins as we help those to deal with theirs by finding answers in the word together. We can seek but will not find those answers by pointing out those sins. Our God knows what his word says,our opinion and knowledge of the word concerning that person does not matter and is not our buisness unless we aim to give him glory and not ourselves. How can we help not harm?

  • lust is a sin. And the story of sodom and gommorah was a hella lot more perverse than being gay. The children were crying to God. The city's men were harassing the angels for sex that came to the town. That is different than being in a same-sex relationship, however God did create us to balance one another and to be fruitful. We can learn a lot about God by honoring one another in marriage as God defined it.

  • I think...if you can wake up in the morning and go about your daily life normally and sleep soundly each night...and still think it is ok to be in a same-sex relationship and be able to say very assuredly to yourself and most importantly to God, "It is well with my soul"...then there is nothing more anyone can say.

    Because in the end, on Judgment Day, everyone is to give an account of their lives to God. No one else should judge you...but just rem you should love God above all else. That's all

  • WEALL SIN...its an everyday struggle.To not would mean we are perfect. So if we are saying that jen is a sinner,then I guess she is in good company. I do not support the gay lifestyle buut nor will I judge anothers sin. Bless you Jenifer. I continue to listen to your music. It has blessed my life. Thank you!

  • @CBALLEN Christ also spoke of showing mercy. I do not encourage sinful behaivior. I think we are to leave Jen, as well as anyone who may be struggling, to the Lord. It is a fine line to speak of anothers in sin. We need to look at our own. I do feel many of us DO know we are sinning but find ways to justify. Perhaps would could better serve our God and help Jen by praying Gods will into her life and that she is able to see what is written. I have knowingly sinned & been forgiven. Amen!

  • @CBALLEN thank -you for sharing scripture. It is good to share with those who we feel may be straying from the word, but the that alone does not help our fellow Christians to turn it around. Listening,time and understanding along with prayer aid in their return to Christ. They are not hopeless. We as Christains Know Gods word. but often fail to apply it to own lives. Is it not possible to model our Lord KNOWING his word in our heart without quoting scripture verbatim? No one wants a lecture.

A lack of condemnation and an abundance of grace will with truth in LOVE will set anyone free to go and sin no more. Let me say this we are called to love our fellow man, we are the only Jesus they will see. What kind of Jesus are you mean and unforgiving or the kind that restores a person who is made in God's image!

    That's a stretch. You're including homosexuals by connecting two passages that use a similar general category, but in different books, different times, different original languages.

    I've seen amateur exegesis come up with absurdities galore by the same questionable method.

  • God put this song in my heart. then i got on yt looking for this version and tried every other link. i got so frustrated i said 'ok, this is the last one im clicking on.' and that one just happened to have this one in the related videos. i felt led to click on it and sure enough- it was what i had been looking for. idk how God feels about people how love differently, but i know He led me to this song. x

    18 But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these make a man unclean. 19 For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander.

    In Genesis Almighty God set forth marriage as being a man & woman - God created ppl male & female. God also destroyed Sodom & Gomorrah for its homosexuality & wickedness. Not even 10 righteous ppl could be found. Even in the book of Revelation it states that those who continue in sin = lies, homosexuality, etc will not enter heaven.

  • Clear-cut to Christians like yourself who stand at the ready to condemn. If you are referring verses in the New Testament, every single statement made about homosexuality originated from Paul alone (Romans 1:26-32, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, 1 Timothy 1:10 ). It's funny to me that all this Christian "chastisement" of the LGBT community--historically ranging from harassment to violence--is based on the words of neither Jesus nor his disciples.

  • This is a beautiful rendition of a beautiful hymn. That's really all you should focus on. Focusing on whether or not it's Jennifer Knapp (which it is) or whether or not she has the 'right' to sing Christian music as an out lesbian is pointless. She (And Audio Adreneline I believe...might be wrong on the band w/ her in this song) are singing praise to God.

  • @bojabill You're correct that God is the great judge of all things. The Scripture also makes it clear that He is the *only* one who can rightfully fill that role, due to His perfection and infinite wisdom. Kindly refrain from putting yourself in His chair.

I used your logic. If we are to dismiss all laws because some are kept that is similar to believing that all sin is justified because some are not seen as sin.   • @cvgsusfreak08 Umm.......yes...homosexuality is a sin. Old KJV, NIV, NAS, New KJV they all say the same thing. The point is....ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Everyone of us need Him and the sacrifice He made for us. I am a Christian saved by the blood. My standing in Christ is forgiven....my state is fleshly......Paul says it best I think..... he struggled daily in His walk. We should be praying for Jen. If we are believers...we pray and trust God to finish what he started.

  • @arielgirl first i know several gay's, seconed the church does not shun them they openly invite them to come in, but yes homosexuality is wrong and a sin thats why the church does not like it. One of my best friends. Do I agree with him? No. Do I tell him he shouldn't be who he is? No. And she never said she was better. Ever. And as for @lezzielet00, no one is born that way. I've never heard of it being proved to be genetic, just atheist scientists trying to prove that it is. It's a choice.

The word translated here as "homosexual offender" is the Greek word arsenokoites which means a sodomite, a person who engages in any kind of unnatural sex, but especially homosexual intercourse. Some believe this use of arsenokoites referred specifically to the men who kept catamites, but that is not certain

This verse has been translated in as many different ways as there are different versions of the Bible, so we have to look at the original Greek to see what Paul was really saying. According to Thayer's Greek Lexicon, the word translated here as "male prostitute" is the Greek word malakos which literally means "soft to the touch."

    Sexual sin, often referred to in the Bible as 'fornication' is sin.

  • @spaghetticat87 You're right. Only God can judge the heart of a person. However there's much emphasis that everything lines up less we be judged by others-Christian and not. The Bible is fairly clear cut (whether you like it or not is another point entirely) about certain issues such as homosexuality, fornication etc. While God is certainly the supreme judge, there are certainly those that he uses to bring about discernment, advice, chastisement (think for instance grandmas, parents, etc).

  • @cvgsusfreak08 We make it complicated because does anyone like being in the wrong? Nope never. I certainly didn't like being chastised by my grandmother when in the wrong. But it was right for her to do that. Basically it's like this: sin is sin is sin, if we professing Christians are caught sinning then we are going to get chastised by non Christians and Christians alike. C: It really could not be any more complicated than that.

I would,as a Christian like to see more discussion with those we feel are not following Gods word rather than the scripture being thrown around. Loving one another is not that easy. Sitting down to find answers using the Bible and walking through it  accomplishes more of what our God desires. It is sad to see Christians say "the Bible says" then offer no more than that.

  • Whether or not you think Religion is a sin, you hold to FUNDAMENTAL beliefs, Rachel. I am not trying to attack you, but I am a Christian. This fundamental Christianity you speak of is moralistic, fake and close-minded. This is not scripture or what Christanity stands for. The Gospel is what I believe saves. The saving work of Christ alone, apart from any "fundamental" moral actions. My works are nothing apart from Christ's perfect work on the cross.

    People who look up Jennifer Knapp on YouTube for the first time and happen to click on this video are being mislead into thinking that the song is being sung my Jennifer Knapp, and not Mark Stuart of Audio Adrenaline. Thus, "sounds like a man."

  • @bojabill 1 Corinthians 6:9 says that immoral people will not "inherit the kingdom of God." You are probably thinking about Leviticus 18:22 when it says a man "shall not lie with a man like a woman." This is your clearest prohibition, but there is no mention of hell. If you want to debate word usage or doctrinal development we can. Please don't accuse me of being ignorant. The message of the Bible is God moving and redeeming God's creation, not one looking to dish out punishments.

  • "God is love," Scripture tells us, and it's true. The problem comes in that "love" has been redefined in our pop culture to center around mere emotions. More specifically it's often used as a euphemism for sex; as in, "Don't tell me who to love" or "judging someone based on who they love," etc. But God's love (Greek word "agape") is the highest form of love. How can someone love God if they do not trust what He says in His Word, the Bible? And the Bible DOES matter -- it tells us of Jesus.

  • @bajojohn What you have to understand is that Jennifer is a Christian, she knows what is right and wrong. If Jesus was here He would hang out with the gay community but with the intent of saving them. Those who know the truth but act otherwise will receive a greater condemnation. Why do you think John the Baptist acted harshly with the pharisees and Sadducees? Because they knew the law, the truth, but did not follow it and repent from their ways.

  • @karahasen I have to disagree with you about Jesus' intent. While his work was/is ultimately salvific, his actions were motivated by love and as such nonjudgemental. The only people who were threatened with hell/judgement were the Pharisees and Sadducees. The teachers of the law could not see the forrest for the trees so to speak. The Pharisees would "devour widows" in the name of righteousness. Jesus says the most important laws are to love God and love neighbor.

  • @karahasen cont. It is clear from the gospel readings that we can't love God without loving our neighbor. John the Baptist was harsh with the Pharisees because they taught people to value their religious ideals of righteousness rather than valuing God and humans. I posit that many Christians today are Pharisees rather than disciples. When it comes down to it, we are all sinners and it is God's grace alone that saves us. Christians are not called to be judges, we are called to be healers.

  • @karahasen cont. Jennifer needs a safe place to discover who she is and how God plays into that. The church should be that safe place. I'm not entirely convinced that being gay is good, but I'm not convinced of the opposite. I do know that Jennifer is hurt and needs a place to heal and she doesn't feel like she can find peace, rest, and healing in the church. That is sad.

It is our duty to convert u. Xtian Gays are the strongest Xtians, & will one day take over the ministry of Jesus. Being gay is a spiritual blessing. It puts one closer to God. Like Christ our savior, we experience persecution & discrimination, & it only makes us stronger. God is on our side, & anyone who is not shall go to hell.

  • It's really a nice version of Audio A... and yeah they collaborated with Jen Knapp but I just wish they did another set of recording for this one (the Collaboration, I mean) because Jen's voice sounded like she's just singing along while listening to the record( got it?) and not like she's a part of the recording... oh well I really love both of this guys but Jennifer really made the big difference in my life with her music... God Bless her wherever she is...

  • You know, this song is among the oldest in my library, yet I never get tired of listening to it and admiring the courage and faith it took to pen this song when most people I know, including myself, probably would have lost faith long ago. We get so caught up and distracted by little things, and this man was able to say "It is well" after losing his daughters. Makes you think.
