  • What the hell is that in her wimple?

  • @dan2010916 her mic.

  • @dan2010916 her microphone.

  • Leontyne Price is the ultimate performer of this song...

  • shirley bassey does the best version of this.

  • I have to sing this song for my school play...........

  • what does " climb every mountain " mean ? thanks

  • @nehirsuyu basically means to never give up, coz wen you climb a mountain you don't stop till you reach the top, so the reverend mother is telling her never to stop until she finds her dream. Hope this helps :)

  • It trully has such beautiful lyrics that applies to life in general. To my fellow Mother Superiors, Bravo! Stop by and see my video, by Debra Akers singing Climb Every Mountain!! I had so much!! Truly, an inspirational song!

  • I went to the show in Bristol yesterday evening and that woman is amazing!!! She was soo good, she made me cry.

  • Not a fan of this Really Useful Group...

  • Lip sync ??

  • Listen to the deep tremolo/vibrato in that womans voice. Wow! Sounds like a theatre organs tibia stop wailing away on a deep trem.

  • One of my favorite songs. If you truely listen to the lyrics, you can learn something.

  • amazing!!!!

  • Im a Theater Spotlight and this EXACT moment in the sound of music is AMAZING.

  • If they are vocal about it, there will be.

  • to see a truly wonderful performance of Climb Every Mountain catch Maggie Preece singing as the mother superior on tour with Connie Fisher.

She is a wonderful singer and beautiful person. She will also be sining at the peace concert on Sun Nov 8th at The Duke of Yorks Theatre, 3pm, alongside stars such as Robert Powell, Sam West, Jason Isaacs, Clive Rowe, Janie Dee. Its Rememberence Sunday and proceeds are to help wounded service men and women.

  • saw connie and margeret yesterday for the second time in southampton

what wonderful performers, almost made me cry.

and i met margeret after the show and she was so lovely at stage door

  • Connie Fisher is a wonderful singer and person.

  • *grins* You just got a glimpse of her, how do you know if she's over-acting? LOL

  • Because her facial expression is more camp than Bette Midler in "Gypsy", and her eyes are darting around like she just did a line of something.

  • Okay. It's called acting. She's listening and searching the Mother's face. And if she's used to doing it on stage, it has to be exaggerated so the audience can see it. But you know, to each their own. I'm much more enticed by the singing. :)

  • Well thank you for not jumping down my throat about it :) To each his own, exactly. And yes, that nun can SING.

  • Wow!

  • goosebumps!!! absolutely beautiful!

  • Absolutely fantastic voice! Both her and Margaret Preece are talented performers and made fantastic "Mother Abbess'".

  • nice

  • Is that Lesley Garret????

  • i love this movie :)

  • This absolutely stole the show when i went. She got standing ovations and teary-eyed audience members. Well deserved tho' she was the best thing about it

  • how does thisn work?

  • garrett's voice was something incredible when she came to the last notes of this song...she definitely made the most of her show turn the night I saw it at the Palladium...afterwards they had a little more business of escaping those nasty nazi's(and the theatre went wall to wall swastika..lol..)...but who cared after miss Garrett had sung :-)...

  • she gives me shivvers too!

  • I always cry when I hear this, it's mor emotional in the film because there is an orange light coming in through the window behind the nun.

  • wow!! She gave me shivers!!

  • why isn't the entire version on youtube :)

  • What a BEAUTIFUL voice!!!!!

  • that looks awfully like lesley garrett??

  • It is Lesley.

  • Is that the mic on her forehead?

  • yes, it's a microphone (plus one back-up, hence two buds)

  • no its hamster testicles.

    Cheeky little rodent.

  • I play the reverend mother in my play. I've got Climb ev'ry mountain nailed (finally)

  • This Woman is an Amazing singer!!!

  • I just went mad because the song didn't finish. When i went to see this (ages ago when she was still in it) this recieved a standing ovation twice, it was unbelievable, to be honest ive heard nothing for a while that tops it. It was in my opinion, the best thing about the show! Does anybody have the full song? I'd die to see it x

  • I agree with you. I didn't see it with Lesley in but i saw it with Margaret Preece. She was amazing! I think that it was the best part of the show too!

  • wheres the bridge??? its the best bit!!!

  • took my daughter to see this for her 6th birthday and it was amazing,

  • I played the Mother Abess just this month in my school production of the sound of music! I loved every second of it! :-)

  • Beautiful. Pity the clip was so short. I would've liked to see the full song.

  • I saw this live and it was "standing ovation" material. the crowd went wild!!!

    Thanks!!!

  • This lady is amazing, I thought the original singer was great but I think this lady is maybe even better what a voice. Normally retakes never match up to the original but this one does

  • It takes a Dame to sing this. Lesley will soon be one (probably too young as yet).

Other Dames to sing this include Julie Andrews, Shirley Bassey and Kiri Te Kanawa.

  • She is Lesley Garrett, the opera singer.

  • i'm a mess. just emotionally a train wreck. than you.

  • Absolutely stunning, the Reverend Mother whoever she may be has a precise and vocalistic voice x x

  • i saw this in london last year, it was AMAZING!!!! I was literally crying through the whole thing!

  • ahmazing, but i think mother is too young...xD

  • I played Mother Abbess when I was 17! Hahahaha!

    even serieus.

dus ga nou neit dom lopen doen met nikki is beter enzo.

  • kan aan mij liggen maar dit is toch opera en nikki zong het heel anders dus voor zover ik weet heeft het niet eens zin om te vergelijken

  • als zij dat nou vind

  • i saw that in london:)

    it was so good!!!

    id recommend it to anyone!!!

  • Jesus, doe het haar maar eens na ^o)

  • Wat is dat toch de heletijd met nikki veel beter blablabla ..

  • verschrikkelijk whahah nikkii is 10000000000000 klasse beter

  • Jij vergelijkt een klassiek opgeleide zangeres met een zangeres lichte muziek en Idols kandidate? Ik lees jouw opmerking en zie alleen maar staan: 'Ik ben dom Ik ben dom Ik ben dom'!

  • does anyone have the ending to this song in london cause it is awsome and worth watching

  • This is not that great. Supposedly it is the "definitive" version and Kiri Te Kanawa and Leontyne Price are both "rubbish" according to the comments. I may be old fashioned, by I prefer both Leontyne and Kiri any day over Nikki.

  • Search for this:

Nikki (Idols) - Climb every mountain (Sound of Music)

  • This is amazing!Wonderful!

  • Very Nicee!

  • As much as I love the movie, I have not yet seen the broadway show, but I would love to one day!!!!

  • this is what i wanted

  • Wow is all i can say!!!

  • i saw lesley garratt as the mother superior, she was just AMAZING. She really was the star of the show!

  • I totally agree, I saw the show on Wednesday for the second time with Margaret in and she is brilliant and gives an all round performance. She also got a standing ovation along with Connie at the curtain call.

  • its Magaret Preece who is the mother abbess now and she is every bit as good, if not better than Lesley Garrett!

  • shes not in it anymore apparently

    no pointin seeing it now

  • There is every point! Saw this show on saturday night with Margaret Preece as Mother Abbess. She was fantastic! When she sang this it brought tears to my eyes and at the curtain call she received the biggest cheer of the night -except for Connie.

  • saw this show last night and it was absolutely breathtaking. go see it if you have the chance!!!

  • I heared this live on show and it send shivers down my spine, Connie is Awesome , and lesley makes a fantastic mother abbess .
