Obviously an educated person is just as capable, if not more so, of distorting the truth as an uneducated person. But I'm over 40, and always seek a second or third point of reference. I have seen no evidence that Savage has distorted any truths about the US government.

Privatised healthcare will always be a choice for those that can afford it. The same is true with the education system. The choice will always be there for those that don't like socialised medicine and can afford to pay.
At the moment there is no choice! If there was a socialised solution as a baseline in addition to privatised options for those that can afford it, then everyone would be covered and to the level that they desire.

@thehen2 OK by that reasoning, then if I were say looking for the same heart surgery that the Newfoundland premier had, and I was a citizen of Canada, and I had plenty of money, I should be able to get that procedure done in Canada? Well according to the Newfoundland premier, Canada did not offer that procedure. So even with enough money, socialized medicine led to rationing and loss of options. I just dont want the US govt messing with my health care. Would you want Bush in charge of yours?

@thehen2 btw, we aleady have the situation that you describe. There is not 1 hospital in the US that is allowed to turn away a patient because of lack of money, especially illegal aliens (which is why this became an issue), thus we have that baseline. The problem is that the govt does not want to reimburse hospitals for nonpayers so how are they going to pay for it when it when they run it? Ration care and quality.

The surgery that Newfoundland had was by one of the the best surgeons in the world. "his morbidity and mortality rates are far below the national average". This specialist celebrity treatment simply doesn't translate into lower and middle class society.

@thehen2 NO WAY! The corporation must adhere to regulations. The government sets the regs, and their decision is final. You have no recourse against a government. You can at least take a corporation through the legal system. Besides if the corporation wants to continue profiting, they will do a good job. The government does not have to do a good job. The proof is in every government agency in the US - beurocratic, inefficient, mechanized, rude, and intolerant.

Canada did offer the treatment. The difference was that this specific Miami surgeon who had pioneered his own version of the surgery was one of the best in the world.

@thehen2 I believe one goal of Obama, and most politicians, is control. Its that simple. Look at his influences, and look at who he picks for czars (yes I know Glen Beck hit on this). But Obama is not alone. There are many Obamas in DC and in the multilayered beurocracies that have made the govt intolerable and intolerant. I dont care what his religion is or who he hates, but I do believe that the ultimate goal is to guilt all of us into being ashamed of our history - a Vladamir Lenin tactic.

We are told that we need to fear servicemen coming home from war. They push legislation that we don't want but they may force. My personal life? I watch all this take place,along with 59 mil. others who didn't vote for this man, while being told its now time for the U.S. to give up it's wealth for its rightful owners. My personal life is saturated with rhetoric about how our constitution is flawed. We are stuck in a democracy where people are allowed to vote themselves money.

The top 50% of wage earners pay over 96% of the nations income tax. How is this a bad thing? Really? Why should people be punished for success and bearing the brunt of income tax? I'm now wondering where you're getting your info. Obama is all obout government intervention. He's hijacked two auto companies. He's pushing regulation that will kill industry due to unfounded global warming hype. You have to read the policies he's pushing and how they effect the private business sector. Nothing he enforces helps the economy. He passed a near 1 tril. dollar stimulous to save any more people from losing their jobs. the unemployment rate has gone up from 8 to over 10 percent.

The problem with Katrina was the increase in deregulation and the sudden surge of privatisation. It was seen as an anarcho-capitalist opportunity that was exploited by the corporations. This was only encouraged by the Bush administration and led to a much greater increase in poverty.
According to statistics the UK has been consistently moving further right with every general election. New labour are considered as 'right' as the conservative government before it.

Thats what I've heard. I have a friend who lives in Liverpool who is annoyed by the labor unions over there. I think we're splitting hairs over Katrina since the local governments near New Orleans are corrupt to the core. Unless you live here and are exposed to the hypocricy and double-standards in the media, it's hard to explain the frustration. A sensible person can't complain about Bush any more than Clinton. Democrats can even see the threat that Obama's idea's have on our future.

You really should listen to the man in this video. Michael Savage can be very emotional at times but what he's talking about is dead on. If you continue to expose yourself to one media voice, your going to continue to think corporations are at the root of the problem. We're exposed to sensationalism everyday. It has helped form the things you believe. Did you know about half of this 97% consensus on global warming didn't know they were part of the consensus? Scientists that were merely affiliated with the scientists who agree that GW exists were added to the list. The theory is collapsing. Just monday, the data explaining how ice caps melting effects sea was withdrawn. Most of the "data" to promote global warming came from colligate thesis not scientists

I am all too aware of the controversies and conspiracies regarding global warming. I think it's great that it's being questioned and not taken at face value though I am inclined to go with scientific consensus combined with worst case scenario. Scientist authority has been called into question on both sides repeatedly.

I watched Pillars and I completely disagree with the first half. In regards to the second half, I believe there needs to be a social fallback for those that don't subscribe or fail the capitalist system. The pursuit of happiness may suit one person but fail another.
