@NCIS4TIVA i think they meant two things each one. tired of pretending that everything is normal and secondly they use this phrase to express their feelings (that they're more than professional) because none of them want to spill it out first (cause he/she can't guess her/his reaction and they're even ready to admit it theirselves i suppose)
Agree that it would change the Tiva dynamics since it's based on UST. Tiva is audaciously UST on purpose and rightfully complicated because a partnership in law enforcement is a deeper connection (due to the daily exposure to life-threatening situations where both partners need to depend on the other to save each others' lives) than romantic couplings.
I'm pretty comfortable with the notion that if Tiva NEVER consummates, it doesn't take anything away from NCIS as a whole.

Agree. Tony has a gift of speaking with subterfuge and sometimes, I think he does that on purpose but not maliciously. It's a part of his narcissism. I don't mean anything bad by that; it's just the way he's written and portrayed.

Agree. I'm a Tiva fan as well but I don't go looking for every single "sign" neither. I prefer to look at Tiva as a part of the storyline and NOT the whole storyline. It wouldn't be fair for the other characters who have just as much importance to the show as Tiva.

yes... they were sent on a secret mission to gather intel from another US agency to help find out who the mole was in NCIS (turns out to be Agent Lee... complicated stoyline there) and then their covert operation was exposed and guards grabbed them. Turned out that the mission had more to it that Gibbs and Director Vance kept from him and Ziva. It's the episode called War Games, idk what season. Just google NCIS episode guide.

As Tony says, he was tired of the manipulations under Jenny's administration and it's happening again under Vance.
Recall his affair with Jeanne and then Ziva reprimanding him by saying that he can't go back to being Tony DiNardo. The both of them were in a wargame, which was a charade conducted by Vance and Gibbs and approved by Davenport (SecNav).
"Dinner show" meant the wargame and the "curtain going down" was meant for Vance who orchestrated the wargame. Tony was truly pissed off.
I think that when tony was dating all these girls in the past seasons ziva was realizing her feelings for him and when she got a boyfriend tony startd relizing his feelings and now they bothe love each other but don't have the guts to say them to each other
@tivagal dude its not that they dont have the guts to say it to each other, they cant. you arent allowed to date or marry anyone in the same agency you work in. they both know that they like each other. they've given each other enough hints and they both know it. but they also know that it will never happen which is why they keep dating others, yet they feel emotions for each other which is why they get so angry at each other. they get protective.
Spoiler indications point to Ziva becoming an NCIS agent and a US citizen, after some rough patches. Tony will spend field time with McGee rather than Ziva, which will set up a rumored Tiva romance moment. We shall see...
I want them to get together... But think about it: If they do and one of their bosses find out, they won't be able to work together anymore. It would be a conflict of interest. One will have to leave, and I'm pretty sure it would be Ziva. I think that if any feelings are confirmed by Tony, he might not do anything, because everytime she goes to Israel something happens to her. He won't let her go back to keep her safe. I think he'd rather suffer and keep her safe than send her to Israel.
Just so you know, NCIS is based on the real thing. There are people in the real NCIS who are seeing each other, dating, and even married. Nepotism isn't a problem.
Besides, the only thing stopping Tiva is that if their emotions for each other is seriously affecting their jobs to the point where they're ineffective investigators.
Gibbs will NOT let that happen. He knows of their attraction but just like Tony in Israel, he's going to let them both find their way.

It's just that they can't work on the same team... Husband and wife can both be cops in the same precinct but cannot be partners. Do you understand? This is what would happen if they got together.

ok so when tony first said "i'm tired of pretending" my mom and i FLIPPED out and then it turned out he was talking about the whole vance thing. such a let down.
tony and ziva thought they were doing a secret mission for gibbs to find out who the mole at ncis was. turns out vance had organized the whole thing and didn't tell them it was an approved mission. so basically tony and ziva were pissed because they were being used.
Actually, they thought they were on a covert operation to determine the effectiveness of the security placed to protect Domino. Turns out the whole thing was to determine if there was a mole in NCIS, and that the security around 'Domino', and Domino itself, was all fake.
even if they do get together during the beginning of season 7 there will be a catch...the writers of this show are amazing they wouldnt let us predict the predictable!
OMGGG, this scene gets me EVERY time...the little dimple in Ziva's chin at the end is sooo sweet, makes her look just like a little girl :( I don't want them to get together instantly, I think that would ruin the dynamic, but they have to at some point!! And it has to last...it would be even worse than if they never got together than if they got together and it didn't work (if that sentence makes sense at all)...they're MEANT for each other...eeeee! SOOO excited for September 22!!

@tivagal dude its not that they dont have the guts to say it to each other, they cant. you arent allowed to date or marry anyone in the same agency you work in. they both know that they like each other. they've given each other enough hints and they both know it. but they also know that it will never happen which is why they keep dating others, yet they feel emotions for each other which is why they get so angry at each other. they get protective.

I want them to get together... But think about it: If they do and one of their bosses find out, they won't be able to work together anymore. It would be a conflict of interest. One will have to leave, and I'm pretty sure it would be Ziva. I think that if any feelings are confirmed by Tony, he might not do anything, because everytime she goes to Israel something happens to her. He won't let her go back to keep her safe. I think he'd rather suffer and keep her safe than send her to Israel.

Just so you know, NCIS is based on the real thing. There are people in the real NCIS who are seeing each other, dating, and even married. Nepotism isn't a problem.
Besides, the only thing stopping Tiva is that if their emotions for each other is seriously affecting their jobs to the point where they're ineffective investigators.
Gibbs will NOT let that happen. He knows of their attraction but just like Tony in Israel, he's going to let them both find their way.

tony and ziva thought they were doing a secret mission for gibbs to find out who the mole at ncis was. turns out vance had organized the whole thing and didn't tell them it was an approved mission. so basically tony and ziva were pissed because they were being used.

Actually, they thought they were on a covert operation to determine the effectiveness of the security placed to protect Domino. Turns out the whole thing was to determine if there was a mole in NCIS, and that the security around 'Domino', and Domino itself, was all fake.

OMGGG, this scene gets me EVERY time...the little dimple in Ziva's chin at the end is sooo sweet, makes her look just like a little girl :( I don't want them to get together instantly, I think that would ruin the dynamic, but they have to at some point!! And it has to last...it would be even worse than if they never got together than if they got together and it didn't work (if that sentence makes sense at all)...they're MEANT for each other...eeeee! SOOO excited for September 22!!

i agree that i dont want them to get together immediately it would definitely ruin the dynamics and the whole suspense and funness!!!! its like the reason i watch ncis! to see the subtle hints of tiva and to see if they'll ever get together! but then again i also watch because gibbs is awesome and abby and mcgee need together and vance is a loser and duckys like a cute grandfather and palmers like awkward neighbor! but seriously this scene definitely means more then just their job!

It would ruin the whole dynamic between them for the rest of the season. If they got together at the very beginning, it would be boring. I want suspense, flirting, and loads of fighting before they actually get together. Scenes like this one are the best. :D

And I'm not convinced she loved Rivkin..not at all,at the least not in love with him..big difference. He was her rebound guy that she was using to try to get over Tony..like that is possible.
