  • why don't people compose music like this any more?

  • I think you got the second part of your info WRONG!! Greensleeves' tune is used for "What Child Is This" Christmas song.. CHECK YOUR CAROL-ING BOOKS/SONGS PLEASE!

  • @simhui89 Excuse me, but I think you'll find that plenty of Christmas albums--including Mannheim Steamroller--refer to this song as "Greensleeves," its original name. With its rewritten LYRICS, it is, of course "What Child is This," but the melody is nevertheless "Greensleeves."

  • @simhui89 "What Child is This" was written in 1865 by William Chatterton Dix. Greensleeves was written in 1580. The melody is all "Greensleeves" not "What Child is This". However, there are some Christmas song books that do call this song "What child is this", but you are singing the wrong song. It is originally Greensleeves.

  • @simhui89 'What Child Is This' Is simply a rip off of Greensleeves, as are many caroling songs.

  • I love this video!!! =) The Tudors forever!

  • ¿quien es la muchacha que esta abrazando a ana, en el 1:44?

  • linda!!!!!

  • Greensleves was written by king henry and yes it was about anne boleyn

  • @Horse833 are you certain? I could've sworn it was for Jane Seymour.

  • @notabigmoose Greensleeves, if it was written by Henry, was definitely written about Anne.

  • @MagicCrafter My apologies, I had misremembered a History Channel documentary.

In any case, it is unlikely he did at all.

  • @notabigmoose no it was for anne and it was about when she wore her Favorite green dress and yes henry wrote it for Her and he even played it for her and to her not jane he only wrote songs for his second wife anne

  • @notabigmoose Yeah it was definately written for Anne. Green in those days did not represent good but bad, so it was unusual that he choose to call it greenselves.

  • Happy death anniversary to the sad and cruel death of Anne Boleyn on this day in 1536.

  • love love looooooove it ...

    al 3 uur non stop...

  • SO romantic video!!! 5/5

  • it's fantastic...so nice and so beautiful music :) Good =)

  • cool

  • this is absolutely gorgeous....beautiful use of the music. It really makes the historical story of Anne and Henry seem so much more real...xxxxxx

  • lovely videoo :) what did you use to make it?

  • Thank you. =] Windows Movie Maker.

  • Windows Movie Maker is the best!

  • I totally agree with shortyangel2115. ^_^

This video is so beautiful. The music makes me so..yeah..happy inside. Awesome. ^^

    5/5 + fav <3

  • I really like the music. :)

  • This video was beautiful!! :-) Thank you for you artistic nature in creating this clip. The music was tender to my soul, and at the end...I truly was "The Most Happy" ;-)

  • i love his smile at 1:05

  • oh I love greensleeves and Jonathan Rhys Meyers! He personificates Henry VIII so brilliant! :) thanks for upload :)

  • who wrote this beautiful music? is there anywhere i can find tracks or sheet msuic that is the same?

  • enrike VIII

  • i dont think that it was even Enrike VIII who wrote the original but i meant specifically this tune to this video thanks any way

  • It's Mannheim Steamroller. I'm not sure about the sheet music, though.

  • Enrique VIII, not Enrike...thats just bad spanish.

Enrique VIII compuso esta bella obra para Ana Bolena, su esposa herética, por la cual dejo a la dulce dama Catalina de Aragón.

  • never mind about that other comment.

  • this isn't really Greensleeves...

  • I'm sorry you feel that way, but this isn't really from "this era" - I mean, it's Mannheim Steamroller. It's popular, modern Christmas music. Greensleeves is a classic when portraying this relationship. There are much more archaic versions of it than this.

  • I completely disagree. This music allows you to hear Henry's loving devotion while still being appreciated by today's modern ear. Would you rather something cheesy like KC & Jojo?

Thank you for the video, I came here for the music but I stayed for the wonderful visuals.

  • It is not just the music of XVI century. It is the music that was written by Henry VIII for Anne. At least it is the most famous version of that song`s creation accepted by a great amount of scientists.

  • ilove the tudors

    so wow

    great job

    love it

    you go huni

  • i read that the song title had something to do with Anne Boleyn's eating disorder. she was bulimic, i think

  • "Greensleeves"? Apparently it was written before Henry even met her - so I s'pose I'll have to change my opinion...

  • yeah, i dunno. i think thats why it was titled that. might just be a bit of a myth, but it seems to make sense, dont you think?

  • ...not really, to me. It would make more sense that the woman just had a green dress, wouldn't it?

  • Anne Boleyn wasn't bulmic.

  • yeah she was. whether the song is related i dont know but she had an eating disorder.

  • I've never heard of that before. I don't know why I got thumbs down because as far as I've researched she wasn't bulmic...not that I actually look into those things. I do doubt it though because eating disorders are very modern.

  • not really. for ladies of the court, bulimia and anorexia were very common because it made it easier to obtain an 'hour glass' figure. i get what u mean, but from what i've read, im pretty sure was bulimic. :)

  • Oh well like I said I really don't look into bulima in history I tend to look in other areas.

  • okay was that some kind of joke cos i can't be bothered starting a fight. i don't look into bulimia history, i just said she had bulimia! jeez

  • I wasn't starting a fight. I was just saying no need to get all worked up about it...

  • im not. i was just saying

  • ive also read she was

  • who? Anne Boleyn? If so, that's awful! I was bulimic, but I'm better now.

  • Anne Boleyn was bulimic?

  • nahh...

  • I love your video, it's great!! I love Jonathon Rhys-Meyers is GORGEOUS!!! I loved him in Bend it Like Beckham... but he was brilliant in Ausgust Rush... he's an amazing actor... and so beautiful to... :)

  • Thanks! I agree. ^^ He's my new favorite actor, I admit. He's too awesome not to be.

  • u know i feel ashamed admitting this, but i never knew the lyrics to this song before, i had always heard instrumental versions, but i just finally read the lyrics and you're right, if henry really did write this, it was definitely about anne, no doubt =D i just love to watch this over and over again haha, sry sound so stalkerish ;-)

    <33333

  • no it wasnt as this style of music was invented after henry viii had died, its funny that just coz one line relates to anne and henry everyone thinks its about them even though it could relate to thousands of people

  • well maybe it's not to anne, i think someone said that the lyrics weren't written until after henry's death so idk, but it sure is fun to think otherwise, no reason to argue over it

  • i'm never gonna hear this song again without thinking of this video, just absolutely beautiful, i can't even put it into words =D

  • beautiful :)

  • hahah actually i just realized this is sort of similiar to the one im making one on the life of Anne boleyn.

    (:

    also favorited (:

  • ^^ I look forward to seeing that one, then. Thanks. <3

  • FABULOUS!

    5 stars (:
