  • Hey am really intrested in this handy move you have going here! shame is here in the Netherlands, we don't have "winning colours"! Do you know what the active ingredients are? or maybe any similar products? Been searching the net for a while now, and nothing seems to turn up...

  • @klurpook I suggest you to look for water-based paint remover/stripper.

    Something like "Home Strip" product from UK.

  • how could i apply this to a guitar!!!!

  • @Deezey304 Do you mean removing old coating from guitar? I don't know. You'd better talk to guitar maker.

  • Few questions:

    1) What's the advantage to this method over the last, if any?

    2) Do these mirrors scratch more or less easily than standard mirrored acrylic?

    3) If i were to spread tensol cement on the non-mirrored side (the acrylic side) would it distort the mirrored side?

    Thanks!

  • @JaiNobesIsARat

    1. In this method water based solution is used. It doesn't dissolve acrylic and produces mirror with better quality. Also it's safe for skin.

    2. Since protective coating is removed, exposed reflective surface can be damaged or contaminated with fingerprints more easily. Proper handling is required.

    3. If it shrinks when it's dried it may flex acrylic if it was applied to large area but it shouldn't distort small piece like 30 mm spirograph mirror.

  • just watch this video i dont get it! sorry ;( but is that a mirror before you put it in the stain remover ? i am new to this!! it look's fun but i dont see what the differnt's is to it and a normale mirror

    can you explane it to me like im a realy think child please! fs?? : {

    p.s you don't have to ! : } it's not a matter of life or death lol

  • @mytranslife

    The significant drawback of regular mirror is that front side of the glass partially reflects light and that forms second ghost image. I remove protective coating from back side of mirror to expose reflective silver coating

    Thus I can use mirror's back side as working surface for which light is not going through glass but reflected by top surface of silver coating .
