Try doing that fast even strumming yourself. The downbeat falls on the upstrum every other time, and it takes a load of practice to pull this off... obviously Lennon learned to do this in a previous life. Incredible.

@bobbyjwoodruff Not to mention, he was able to do this LIVE on the Sullivan show, not just in the studio. As you say, not so easy to pull off.

Nice. Lennon was a great great guitar player. This song has 3 different rhythm patterns. one for the verse, chorus, solo. This really makes the song.
