At first, I wasn't having any issues with my iPhone 4 and thought it was an American issue. But been getting dropped calls, low signal, etc using 3G. Solution was switching to EDGE as I usually have wifi access. Updating to iOS 4.1 didn't help. Also on Fido. Edmonton, AB area.
@mODeGamingHD Fido ran out of stock last year sometime, Next week they're getting a stock, I'm picking 2 16 GB iPhone 4's one for me and my sister. Looks like a good phone, I'll be testing the so called * Death grip* on the iPhone4 in here in the Toronto area and I'll post a reply.
@yoomgitsme yes they do both 3G and 3GS. Hardware and feature wise, the new one obviously has several improvements over older phones but, as shown above, when it comes down to handling the most important feature of a smart phone, to act as a phone, it clearly fails.
@nicolaid i c. so will apple fix this problem? i really need ur help on this 1 plz. i currently have an lg and i have 1 year left with fido. i really want to buy an iphone. God knows how much it cost 2 cancel a contract. how do i convince the fido compagny to renew my contract and get an iphone?
@yoomgitsme Go to Fido website and enter your mobile number to see if you are eligible for the iphone 4 promotional pricing packages. In terms of a fix for the iphone 4, your guess is as good as mine. They've acknowledged the problem and provided free bumpers as a remedy with no mention of actually changing the iphone itself.
@nicolaid i am eligible. so how much do i get to pay? i can make a 3 year contract and pay like 175 for a 16gb? i doubt that the free bumpers will actually solve the iphone 4 pb.
@yoomgitsme I have tried 2 style's of cases and so far, I still have the issue. Yes the cases improve it but the signal still drops drastically. I've been doing some more trialing and it seems this issue only happens in certain areas. For example, in my house. But when I go to the mall, and hold my phone with my left hand, the bars are unaffected. I know people are gonna say I'm in a weak area then, but I am NOT as evident from my video above. My 3G in the same house works flawlessly!
