@titmouse0hehehe The black kids were uncomfortable at the beach--they just never went there. Ever. Nowadays its popular to think the whites were racists who brutalized blacks and would kill them if they came to the beach. Not true. I never knew any blacks who wanted to come to the beach. They didn't want to get any darker. It wasn't cool enough for them anyway--they liked their own nightclubs, etc.

The beaches were dirtier, but freer and funner back then. Drugs were almost unheard of.

@DrMorpheus actually Alan O' Day plays all the instruments and sings vocals on Twist Fever, but he was a member of Arch Hall Jr.'s band the Archers. Alan O Day went on to write the 70's hits Undercover Angel and Angie Baby..... You can find the whole story in the liner notes to" Wild Guitar Arch Hall Jr. and the Archers". cd on Norton Records.
