  • How long can the marinade last in the fridge before using?

  • @OfficialGundem

Hello. No more than 7 days.

  • Great marinade............subscribed

  • @Unim86

    Thank you!

  • THX for SUch an easy n Nice recipe :)

  • @undeny I suggest try experimenting on your own, like I did(adding Onion powder after letting it sit on the marinade, before grilling) :P rather than asking his secret ingredient(if there is).Haha~

  • Thanks for the reply Sir,really convenient! :) But I'm wondering too if it is recommendable to reuse the marinade, tried your recipe yesterday,it turned out really good! But ended up dumping the left over of marinade.Kinda thought its a waste?

  • @OnoNoah I usually freeze half of it to use another time.

  • Instead of extra virgin oil can i use vegetable oil

  • Thanks! Looks superb! But I wonder if I can use this chicken marinade and grill the chicken in a George Foreman Grill.Reply please :)

  • @OnoNoah I don't see why not. Enjoy!

  • tnx

  • @25jorwin You're welcome!

  • great...This is joana.Im starting my buss. now which is roasted chicken hope that it will help me run my first business..Im curious on how you make chicken sauce.can u help me?tnx.SALAMAT

  • what can i substitute the cumin with?

  • @isaackim13 I wouldn't substitute the cumin. It's a key ingredient for this recipe. :)

  • @ChefTips Anything additional (chef's secrets ;P?!) I could use along with/mixed into the garlic-shallot puree? And like how much of these ingredients might I need for perhaps marinading a whole free-range chicken (or perhaps 4 portions/pcs of)? Could I compliment this recipe with dried oregano & melted butter/cream?? Too many questions.. lol :P!

  • u zest the lime and used the lime juice too??

  • Hello chef! Do i have to squeeze the two lime juice into the virgin oil or just the lime zest ?

  • Finally a recipe for normal people who have no clue what they're doing! Thanks :)

  • @akkadianantttt Thanks! Hope you enjoy it!

  • AMAZING recipie. i tried it today. i cut the chicken breast into thin slivers and served it with pasta salad. thanks alot !:D

  • @soph60 Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad you like it!

  • Can I use coriander instead of cilantro?

  • @9ssgoku Not if it is dried. You need fresh. Hope this helps!

  • @ChefTips Thanks! :)

  • Thanks chef now i know what to do with those chicken thighs in the freezer. :D

  • @Jujyreign Enjoy!

  • I did this recipe yesterday for my family. It was a 5 star dinner thanks to it. Nicely done and was complimented with a southwestern rice & black bean salad that my wife made. OUTSTANDING! Thanks Jason.

  • @MultiMrfalcon

Thank you for taking the time to comment! Glad you enjoyed the recipe.

    Cheers!

  • Remember when you didnt have to watch advertisments before a video -_-

  • @RandomVideoesDude Thank you so much!

  • looks nice

  • I'm allergic to cilantro, is there something else I can use instead?

  • @tuberculin

What other herbs are you allergic to?

  • @ChefTips No other herbs, just cilantro.

  • @tuberculin

Then I would go with Oregano as a replacement. Hope this helps!

  • @ChefTips thanks, i will try that!

  • Modern citrus are coated in wax and preservatives to keep them looking good for extra shelf time. How do you remove that coating for zesting when wax is waterproof?

  • @buckstarchaser I use my father-in-law's fresh citrus from his garden. I guess if you aren't going organic, you have to eat it. Still, there are products that remove this coating that are available in the supermarket.

  • @chefTips thank you very much :D

  • @rais3tong You're welcome!

  • excsue me i was confuse the part where u are zesting so after zesting all of them did you squeeze the lime or just only the zest part is enough ?

    thank you .

  • @rais3tong You use the juice as well. You can print the recipe from my Web site. :)

  • Looks good! Seems like a lot of oil though....If I wanted to use half the amount of oil, what other liquid would you recommend substituting for?

  • do u also use the juice and zest of both limes?

  • @MissPrincess249 I have the full recipe on my Web site. :)

  • you're very clean, i wanted to comment you on that. i saw another video on how you put heat on your cooking utensil because it touched raw meat. it's good to see someone care about bacteria getting on their foods and also cleaning the ingredients. i'm the same way, keep up the good job!

  • @SinValentine Thank you! :)

  • @SinValentine BACTERIA OMG THAT THING CAN KILL YOU!!!!

  • awww snap i forgot to buy the cilantro...is it ok if one uses parsley?

  • @mesa134 I wouldn't use parsley for this recipe. The cilantro gives it a Mexican flavor that's really nice.

  • Can I use lemon instead of lime?=)

  • @benedicttubio You can.... but I prefer the lime.

  • roughly how much liquid are 2 limes?

  • @Sk8toH8 Each lime has roughly 2 tablespoons of juice.

  • @ChefTips great answer, it nice knowing things like that, cuz we don't all have fresh ingredients. I have powdered coriander and have no idea how much to use...guess i'll wing for tonight.

  • you're better than howdini guru

  • @i8mud4you Thanks so much!

  • amazing marinade and such a nice chef! thanks bud keep it up you are one of the persons which i just wish a beautiful life!

  • @PG1337ify Thank you so much for the kind comments! All the best to you as well.

  • do u just peel the top part of the lemon or the inside too?

  • @MissPrincess249 For the zest, you just want the yellow part of the peel.

  • could you recommend some side dishes to compliment this recipe? thanks

  • @wulfgeng This is good with my grilled chicken sandwich and grilled corn videos. Hope you enjoy it!

  • Hello, I want to know how long I marinade the chicken, and how long do I keep it in room tempatured, before I cook on grill, and do I use olive oil or vegatable oil, for the best result? Thank you! ahead of time.

  • @roma36

Hello. I recommend olive oil. I like to marinade the chicken for at least an hour or up to a day under refrigeration. You can set it out for 15 minutes before hitting the grill.

  • I am hard of hearing, can you tell me how long I marinaded in the chicken, and how do i marinade, (ziplock bag, or in a bowl), how long do I need the chicken in room tempature before I put on grill, thank you ahead of time

  • @tburns826

    Hello.

Marinade up to a day in the fridge or for at least an hour in a bowl or bag.

I usually set the chicken out for 15 minutes before hitting the grill.

  • This looks goooood!!!

  • @PunisherPlaythroughs

  • wow a marinate with 1000's of calories

  • Chef I have one question which bothering my mind for a long time.

Can I use parsley instead of fresh cilantro-coriander?

I have never taste fresh cilantro but I see they look alike.

Thnx in advance. Keep up your educational vids, and greets from Greece

  • Hi there! They do look the same but the flavor is quite different. Cilantro-coriander gives this marinade a true Mexican flavor. You can use parsley, but it won't be as good. Thanks so much for your support! Cheers, Jason

  • I don't have a grill since I live in an apt that is against that. Could I use this recipe for my chicken that I plan on using for my stir fry in my wok or should I vary things up a bit? Thanks.

  • Yes, you can cook the chicken in the pan on the stove top. Hope you enjoy the recipe.

    Jason

  • sounds easy and yummy

  • Wow...gotta try this!

  • is cilantro like coriander?

  • cilantro is the plant that grows from coriander seeds but they taste nothing alike

  • no it's something different they slightly looks like eachother but there is a difference in taste

  • Cilantro is the Spanish term for coriander leaves. It is also called Chinese parsley in some countries. Cilantro is actually called coriander in some other countries, yet here in the United States, the term coriander is used to describe the dried seed of the cilantro. So in a nutshell, yes.

  • Cilantro.....is that Coriander......looks like

  • Cilantro leaves "look" similar to flat leaf parsley. Totally different tastes so don't try to use the parsley instead of Cilantro.

  • Hey Jason, this is awesome. I'm pretty lazy and usually just flash marinade my chicken breasts in olive oil and lime juice and throw some salt and pepper on them while they're grilling. I will definitely use this marinade when I'm feeling like doing something even better. I hadn't even thought of using the zest of the lemons too, haha! Thanks again

  • Thanks! What you do is great for basic grilling, but this just kicks it up a notch, giving it a more zesty, Mexican-style flavor. Hope you enjoy it. Thanks so much for commenting! Jason

  • Five Stars!!

  • Awesome chef! do you think this marinade could work with your crab legs as well? (some of my family members can't handle butter)

  • WOO CHICKEN :D

  • thanks :)
