Patrik Sten noted in February 2004 on their official website that they were in the process of recording their second album. However, since then, Anders Fridén, lead vocalist of both Passenger and In Flames has been noted saying that he has very little time for the project, due to other commitments, and the group is currently on hold.

passenger is founded for a little bit difference in the musical career of the members. they came from death and melodic / trash metal bands and they wanted to make a different kind of music.

So they founded that band for "Fun", it isnt a commercial band and in flames would never become like that. But maybe anders will make a in flames break for a new passenger album, but that would´t be the same cause the in flames style would´t be changed.

im sure if u look at it, u cant really compare in flames to this band... first off, yeah anders in both bands, but as u can obviously tell, they are two completely different bands, its like comparing slipknot to the offspring... they are both different, and good in what they do.... and yeah, u can obviously say what u like more, but saying who is better is just stupid.

@stiannb That will not happen my friend, Passenger is something completely different from In Flames, something for Anders to try. When it comes to In Flames, Anders will still be the badass he has always been. I see a lot more Jester Race roots in the next album...just saying lol.

@stiannb Niclas Engelin is now an official member of In Flames. And Niclas is a creative guy. I'm guessing he will have input into future In Flames material (not the next album though, it has been solely written by Bjorn guitar-wise) and i guess that eliminates the need for another Passenger album. We could see the bleeding of Passenger style into In Flames!
