  • I'm guessing you're a kiwi.

  • check this out .. /watch?v=xvo_xKrIrcE ... made in fl studio .. tnx

  • Good tutorial. I use FL Studio, but I have a general question. I am a noob with this stuff. Can you link the envelope to some control or something, so as the song plays it would change on its own?

  • @TheComp462 I used Fl studio...........when i was 3 years old

  • umm... if anyone knows, where can i purchase this software or download it... any help is appreciated, sorry for my spelling

  • @SuperOnlineGamer1 god damn just fucking google it!! search "massive" first result!!

  • @SuperOnlineGamer1 Try the pirate bay m8. I got it there :)

  • How Do You Click And Drag To Modify The Envelope.....I Did Everything But I Cant Change The Envelope...Btw It Isnt Highlighted In White Like Yours Is.....Help?

  • Is this pro or express? I have express but can't find massive

  • @CompoundHD Massive is an plugin. it dosnt come with logic. check native instruments website for massive! :P also im pretty sure nzmusic101 uses logic pro

  • Sorry, I just started logic, what is massive?

  • Where did you get that sexy drum beat from? :D

  • awesome thanks :D

  • Nice tutorial. This is my song, made in Logic and Massive.

    youtube.com/watch?v=jPdxYmmqwvI

    Electro Funk House

  • WHY ARE THEY ALL BRITISH ARGHH

  • very good but you know you have a quick turn knob for massive toward the bottem to change the sound like you were saying

  • what hi hats are you using itd be really helpful and id appreciate it so much if you would send them to my email ive been looking for them :o btw great tutorial ! :) my email is corderolouie95@yahoo.com

  • is there a way you can set the cutoff to contol the sustain e.g deadmau5 - brazil the cut off rises like what you did as well but how do i automate it?

    cheers buddy :D

  • you from auckland too mate?

  • 7:26 to hear the finished synth.

  • when i put in 8th notes it sounds like my nots are glitching. it sounds like a blown speaker. do you know whats wrong.

  • @kopec2255 add some release and take the attack off zero.

  • Hey ryan, first off, great tutorials man. =) Have learned so much from your vidz. But quick question (That I can't seem to get a answer for)

How do I get a synth to be able to "chord"? Like, what are the requirements for the sound? I notice when i'm trying to make my own sound and use it in a chord progression, only one key or pitch will play at a time, not all 3 (assuming I'm using a triad).Does the sound have to have certain ADSR settings? Would greatly appreciate it!

  • @Chatlistic go to the voicing section and you have to have a minimum of 2 voices and on polyphony

  • @nzmusic101 oh okay! thats what I was doing wrong. =) Thanks man.

  • What program does u use?

  • @Trollz889 he's using Logic Pro plus Native Instruments Massive plugin which can be found in Komplete

  • @walhallax Ok thanks.What's best for Dubstep?

  • @Trollz889 That a really difficult question. No such thing as "best," in my opinion. Any DAW will do, Logic, Abelton, FL Studios, or Pro Tools if you have analog stuff. Just pick one and get to know it :)

  • Subbed <3

  • definitely a subscriber now, awesome tutorial, ty :}

  • i was wondering if you knew how to actually connect massive to logic because i'm having trouble with that pardon my noobness

  • @KrioxxDubstep give a man a fish & feed him for a day. teach him HOW to fish & feed him for life.

  • Cheers.

  • u used the 1/4 drum sample from sebastien leger - word

  • how do i get my ketboard to come up? i press capslock but it doesnt come up

  • i fucking hate logic

  • Comment removed

  • thanks murry

  • You can't do a tutorial in which preccision is key when the video quality is 360p.

The commentary is very well done, relatively few "umms" and "uhhs".

Video quality is all that I ask for. Keep it up!

  • How can people dislike these Video's! Thank you For these Vid's! :D They are really helpful!

  • Are you by chance from New Zealand like Flight Of The Conchords?? :P

  • you should make a tutorial how to make a hard snare like skrillex uses. :D

  • @DvNMzK its actually quit simple find a snare sound you like then use bitcrusher (I use CMT's bitcrusher) and just distort it to your liking, if you do it right it should turn out quite nice

  • @TheMazithra wow thanks :D never had that idea

  • @DvNMzK no problem good luck oh and i forgot to say add a bit of compression to it also it opens it up a bit

  • where i can download masive

  • @vukmikac You can buy in the native instruments site for about 199 euros (:

  • Comment removed

  • @vukmikac depends if your willing to buy it listen to etoilealpha0 but if not when i torrented it i just googled it lol

  • lovely, sounds really great, tried it, it's pretty sick, specially in chord and repetition...now I can conform and use synths like all the other pop artists :D

  • sounds just like birdsled :D

  • How do you connect a midi instrument to massive? i really wanna buy this, its really cool :D. and you only make the vst, not the rhythm, right? like you make your own chords/leads by yourself, am i right?

  • @iGuitarified ....if u want to connect a midi keyboard for playing your notes u will need an audio interface or you can buy ones that connect straight to your computer via USB. U will need a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) such as Ableton, Reason etc and you will need to buy the "Massive" VST which you open inside your DAW. U will use the midi keyboard to make your own melodies, notes etc inside of your DAW. Massive is for making the sound itself, then you create your song inside of your DAW :)

  • @sam355stroker THANK YOU for clearing stuff up (: yes i do use ableton, so i will try that. but first i gotta buy massive.. hah

  • @SADDAMNYOUALL Techno? So by this I assume that you're encompassing all electronic music into "techno" since you're commenting this on a progressive house tutorial. Here's a newsflash: techno simply means music that is created mostly by modern TECHNOLOGY. And I don't think that I have to tell you that almost all music today uses technology in its production and mastering. Also, by being this close-minded you just make yourself look like a jerk, just a headsup.

  • @StarHarvestOfficial Surely Techno is a genre in its own right - you couldn't say that DnB, for example, is techno, simply because it is largely made with a computer...

  • @StarHarvestOfficial HAHAHA you're talking as much crap too. Techno is just a genre of dance music(not the kind of Basshunter music that is often refered to as techno, that's actually Handsup or Eurodance or sth like that). What you consider "techno" is just refered to as "electronic music".

  • haha... 5:19... I frickin HATE Logic because of that crap, but that's the program in a nutshell for sure.

  • get massive free here youtube.com/watch?v=mu8bQORisIM

  • how would a korg nanokey / nano pad compare to say a m audio oxygen 25? or axiom 25?

  • thankss this helped bro!

  • @AstekOst thing is, YOUR LANGUAGE ISN'T COOL, bitch

  • how did you get that nice kick?

  • @xDieNoob haha lots of practice! ...i might make a tutorial on how i make my kicks :-)

  • @nzmusic101 Please do! I've got the hang of Massive synths and basslines etc due to your tutorials, but I have no idea how to get a nice solid kick.

  • @nzmusic101 that would be great!

  • @nzmusic101 please do i dont like useing ausio clips from vengence for my kicks in my songs. they are great but i want everything to be "made"

  • @nzmusic101 You might say you do it...

    *removes glasses*

    ...for kicks.

    YYYEEAAAAHHHHHHH

  • @nzmusic101

come on dude! wheres ur tut how to make this awesome kicks? :D

  • @alphanumb3r in my channel

  • @xDieNoob Try the Vengeance sample packs

  • @xDieNoob usually if you build up alot of kicks together you can get heavy kicks that sound nice!

  • @xDieNoob I usually layer 12-16 kicks to make it sound super full. Then, throw a crash on every 2nd beat for that awesome house sound. Then, I make the kick drum clip for that awesome distorted sound

  • @DJCarlMarks I honestly can't tell if you're trolling or not :|

There is no need to use more than 3 kicks max if you're compressing / limiting correctly. More than that and your waveforms will prolly just be phasing each other out.

It's really all about getting the right samples, eqing them correctly, and then compressing well (parallel compression helps loads with kicks).

  • what drum instruments do you use? Is it battery?

  • what does quantizing or whatever do?

    thanks

  • When I use massive, I hear some annoying buzzing sound behind every notes. Could this be a problem with the software, me earbuds, or my computer?

  • #lol im the 12000 vieuwer

  • @BadEditionBeta thanks for watching! stil appreciate every viewer!! :-)

  • @BadEditionBeta Guess what me too.

  • I subscribed. You're awesome!

  • U think u can send me a pack of presets?

  • Very nice tutorial!

Do you know how to make the hardwell - asteroid sound (at 2:45 from that track) with massive or sylenth1?

  • So Nz, when using this sound, I can't hold out the note for more then a quarter. So is it meant to do this or, should I remake the sound?

  • Good vid mate, But actually at the moment, I want to know how you get your percussions, like your kicks and snares sound good.

I have logic and need help with the actual percussion. Help?

ANDDDD... how to make the how to make synths like in "Brazil" And how to sidechain it and compress it so it's like theres a beat even though the kick might be muted when there's a buildup or something

  • most helpful tutorial I've seen on electro music creation. The Kiwis know all the good stuff, cheers!

  • man i wanted to ask which is the best synthesizer for Electro music?..

  • @kyahaybay haha there all pretty good but my two fav are sylenth and massive!

  • @nzmusic101 ahan thanx n btw.. this synth is present in z3ta .. C tab n Chord of Life patch (if u have it)

  • @kyahaybay It all really depends on what you prefer. Use a bunch of synths, and decide which one you're more comfortable with. It doesn't matter what synth you use if you're not comfortable and can't use it.

  • Do you need a keyboard to use Massive, or when starting up a clip in Ableton, using Massive, does it open up the piano roll and there you can alter the sounds and make a loop? Did that make sense?

  • @EvilFaceIsland no you dont need a keyboard. You can just use the piano roll to play and test out the notes/sounds.

  • This is a fantastic tutorial. thanks for being clear, thorough and detailed and not rushing through it. Easy to follow step by step! Thanks so much!

  • @shootjr no worries! :-)

  • ur a fucken legend thanks so much mate

  • where do you get your drums?

  • What plugin do you use for the drums ?

  • You could also press "shift+option" with the velocity tool to make all the selected velocity's the same.

  • Quantasizes :P good tut bro ;)

  • cheers man this is awsome

  • @neetzy1 no worries
