  • Junior Walker put a hurt on this song! He made it where you could dance on. Nobody can blow that sax like him. He blew like he was sending it via to heaven in the presence of God!

  • @9241953 Records do not do him justice.I was lucky to see him in person several times.... The man could blow the notes off music....at his concerts no one was in their seats after the 1st note .....he could work a crowd !!!! Love me some "Junior" :)

  • love this version soooo much.....

  • Out standing, so rare just want to get up and move..... fall 1967 what a time.

  • no sound

  • Best version of this song !

  • Mitch Ryder did a great rendition of this one..nice job by Jr. Walker though..

  • dig it!

  • simply amazing

  • So, Jr Walker was who Steve Winwood was imitating with his new style in 1967!

  • Jr was a bad----------and he was the man loved him!

  • Jr. was the "man" !!!

  • I am on my way, because soon my body will soon catch up my Heart !!!

  • what is it about a SUPREME song? not too many artists can do them justice. it takes 'BALLS' to make the attempt. maybe that's it: a female has to 'worry' being compared to DR'S impact; but a MAN's voice seems to have just the right GRIT. go JR!

  • From Belgium: no comparring possible with The Supremes, which of cours were also wonderfull

  • Better than the supremes.

  • @RainbowBrite80 yes so much more soul

  • Wow this takes me back to my younger days, excellent soul music.

  • I love it when he say COME SEE ABOUT JR. makes me wish I was "BACK ON THE AIR" especially Jacksonville,,I'd give THE GREASEMAN a RUN FOR HIS MONEY.

  • Jr. Walker clowned on his version .Everybody talks about Motown's bassist Jamie Jamerson BUT to me it was Robert White and that Motown Lick I have always called it that gave it that special sound along with the Drummer Ben whom Berry said he had to replace him with 2 drummers after his death because he was that good. They were as important as Jamie was in my eyes.

  • Slammin' and jammn' that's the s---,make you wanna move something

  • PURE FUNK !!!!!!

  • I think that usta be my 45 ~ used to buy them with the holes punched through the label ~ cheap at Englishtown Market.

  • Jamerson fans bang on about Bernadette and OK it's good. However they should check out, 'Two Can Have A Party' by Tammi Terrell and, I See A Rainbow' by Edwin Starr and Blinky (to name but two). You'll see.

  • NOW I REGRET NOT CATCHING HIM THE LAST FEW TIMES THAT I COULD'VE.

He was at THE CHARTER HOUSE just off the OHIO TURNPIKE at exit 5 near TOLEDO, I SHOULD'VE STAYED THE WEEKEND AND SEEN HIM "ONE MO TIME". We all look back too late, don't we?

  • AND THEN "ONE DAY"

    I heard JUNIOR "PLAY"

  • I loved the Supremes version, but this is the country version and I love it more.

  • One of Junior's best, no doubt. Also Jamerson's most sublime work.

  • Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels also did a superb version of this song.

  • They where great!!

  • @peeterpoon. Mitch was terrific wasn't he. For a real revelation though check out what Billy Harner is till doing. There are several clips on youtube of Billy singing in a club, maybe in upstate New York.. Check out, 'Untie Me - Billy Harner'!.

  • See about Junior, that's me! I absolutely loved this version. As a child I remember this one better than the Supremes hit, simply because it came out later. And, the sax does the trick for me! I just love the Motown artists, how they take the same song from their same stable of songwriters, and make the song THEIRS. Junior owned this one, just like the Supremes owned their version.

  • This is it BABIES,,Rock On,,get it get it get it Cause I know your wit it !!

  • This song and Function at the Junction made saturday Chores fun

  • Function at the Junction is my favorite song of all times, and it is country and it makes me think of North Carolina and family there.

So come see and me, I'm Jr.

I am loving Jr Walker and I am sorry that he is gone to be with the saints.

  • @Gayle454 Gayle this makes you miss the old days dont it?

  • Classic

  • THIS was SOUL MUSIC!

  • And still is!!!!!!!

  • @Hawkeye752

Real Soul Music...from my teenage days

  • Good way to start Saturday morning with the cofeepot...:|LOL....

  • ROCK ON BABY and COME SEE ABOUT ME. They just don't make em like this anymore. I missed seeing him at THE CHARTER HOUSE (along the turnpike) in TOLEDO a few years back,,I'll always regret that. SHOULDA STAYED OVER THAT WEEKEND.

  • A Class Soul Loving Message Sound From "The Man" ! Junior Walker & his All Stars,

I'm Telling You Right On Now Girl,

    A1 Class.

    Gaz ^

  • He sure could blow that sax

  • One of my All-time favorites !

  • This version had the soul beat of the 60's

  • Love this. Yes it reminds me of Mr. Smiths M/c but I think it was 40 years ago Jan9902. Can anyone post Shorty Long singing Chantilly Lace - played about the same time and great to dance to.

  • oooowe!..I love there version betta' than the sweet supremes....It's got way more soul...yea boy..
