  • When Miku says "I want to die", it sounds like she's saying "Shoot me.".

  • I lol'ed at the deformity part xD.

  • I'm normally not a big fan of vocaloid but I freaking love this song so much!!!!!!!

  • One for sure, I jizzed my pant =-=;

  • 3 Things...

    1. Wouldn't Miku technically not be able to stand up with the goat legs...? They would have no feeling... Just... hunks of dead rotting flesh....

    2. And also, the flowers were plced on their wounds to hide them, whether it be from some form of punishment or their deformity.

    3. The chairman could be Teito or Ted...

  • @zmario1994 no its miko and shes getting hung by flower...ps if u guys didnt know the flowers and fruit represent asid thrown on there faces

  • if the little girl is Meiko whos the person getting hanged(coveredinflowers)? -is confused there-

  • @bk2yu Looks somehow similar to Luka..

  • First time I'm watching miku in this song:

Me: awwww miku, you're too pretty! :D

    (looks miku's legs)

    Me: FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-

  • The text moves too fast.

  • I know that this is a true story and all, but I have a question: how do Rin and Len go to the bathroom? They can't possibly need to go at the same time... can they?

  • The girl was taken to be part of the circus at the end >:

  • Meiko (the brown haired girl) comes to see the circus, unaware of the creepiness. It's implied she gets taken, too.

Miku's legs are cut off and replaced with a goat's. Miku was the last to come to the circus (refer to Wide Knowledge of the late, madness).

    Kaito eats human limbs.

Rin and Len were sewn together.

Haku and Neru's legs were stretched and they had stilts to walk on. (Thee two weren't featured in Wide Knowledge of the late, Madness)

    The chairman is unknown.

  • To help clear things up:

Circuses like these were set up in Japan (in the Edo period a.k.a. the Dark Ages) for profit because money was low at the time. Orphaned children were taken and held hostage (refer to Wide knowledge of the late, madness) and were mutilated to seem interesting. The scars of this were hidden by flowers. Should the child disobey, they were beaten or had acid poured on them. The song is about how the children feel alone and wish for the parents they never had.

    (Continued)

  • now that I'm trapped in this dark dark side of vocaloid I need more

  • i dont like this shit man it creeps me the fuck out

  • @RiamiMinholove Don't watch it. Simple as that. Save your stupid remarks for someone who gives a shit.

  • @ThiefShipperChick its not my fault youre some suicidal manaic who ever the fuck you are... save youre stupid i have no no life so im gonna curse people out on youtube comments for someone who gives a shit

  • @RiamiMinholove You make no sense whatsoever. Check your grammar, puncutaion, capitalization and spelling, then what you said will make a hell of a lot more sense.

  • If my research is correct, circus' like these were real, and originated during the dark ages. Orphaned children would be taken, and horribly mutilated by acids, and then beaten or raped. Once the adults became tired of the children, they were sold to a circus, as freaks, and captives. Many times they were still raped, and punished. Flowers were put on parts of the body of the children that began to decay and rot. They were kept until death. And there is your history lesson, kids.

  • Just one of the Tim burton things I'm guessing

  • @erm1223 This is Vocaliod. It stands for Vocal androids, meaning the singer of this particular song isn't real, she's programmed. People make these and they have bitch'n conserts. There are five (that I can think of) Rin, Len, Kaito, Miku, and Meiko.

  • oooooooooooh

  • Reminds me of Tod Browning's Freaks, especially Miku's deformed legs, they're just like Cleopastra's.

  • @JustinBiebzHottie says the one listening to JB

  • I watch this and another vocaloid song to much

  • i thought miku was all fun and flowers when i heard world is mine and po pi po but i was wrong...

  • @iliana500o i know right but once i heard the dark side of vocaloid, i never stopped listening to those kind of songs

  • what this is about is true. however it doesnt just apply to japanese circuses but all circuses in the 1600s

  • The blue beast eats cold things!

    Sister: Like Ice Cream!

    Me: Not hands

  • Now, I'm not some Japan worshipping, lying otaku - I'mma be honest, the Japanese have a history of being sadistic douchebags. However, this specific video is innacurate... The Japanese never did this. If anything freak shows were more of a European fad.

  • @JustinBiebzHottie The only thing different in this comment than your comment on a Miku song is that you're advertising Animal Abuse. Yeah, Great going there >_>. That is horrible ._..

  • @JustinBiebzHottie No wonder you're so dumb, Justin Bieber rotten your already small brain.

  • Since it was something that happened in ancient times, they couldn't have switched Kai-chan's brain with anything- they can't even do that now! They made him eat human parts and threatened to pour acid on him (the usual punishment for rebels in those circuses) or maybe even kill him. Of course, I have no proof, I just think it makes more sense than saying that he had his brain replaced.

  • Sadist part is the true story behind it :'(

  • Okay so Len and Rin were sewn together.Miku had her legs replaced with horse legs.Kaito most likely had his brain switched with an animals. And now they are singing about there pain and misery.Lovely, isn't it?

  • finally found it with eng subs!

  • i dont really understand what the song means help

  • @KaskadeIzRandom It's about a Japanese circus where kids get stolen and get "re arranged" to be put in a circus. The kagamines have been sewn together, Miku is half horse from the waist down, they turned KAITO into a Cannibal and I think Haku and Neru are the freaks with the really long legs or the head mistresses where they run the show. They've been put into a circus so people can get money from it and they're singing about their misery and that they want to get away from it all.

  • @AlexAmazingx3 e_e poor miku and rin and len kagamine

  • this . Scares me . but . It . makes me have eargasms. .. I Guess I am not normal c:

  • i dont understand the pv

  • i dont understand a single thing :(

  • I wonder if pedo-bear came...

  • hold on let me get my shotgun [chik chik] i will be there in five

  • is all of this real my friend said when she saw this vid that this happened a long time ago in japan it was a bad time

  • i like to eat things cold... Cold Pizza!! 8D

  • I always almost cry when I watch this ..pooor miku

  • About the song called Okaasan VOCALOIDS I don't think it's disturbing I like it but it's not as pretty as this song I like the English sub the only think I didn't like were the pictures except at the end when the girl was hung and was killed

  • Why does every1 say they don't like the song??? I like it... Is it just me that thinks it sounds pretty? I like the pictures to they go good with the song and they look cool

  • i think i am officially scarred for life :(

  • @bloodyrose385 Go back to you're "World is Mine" bubble, Chicken! xD

  • @phantomrider115 no what i meant by scarred for life wasnt real take a joke its just ive never seen them like this before i like this so you dont have to be so rude about it .

    GET A LIFE!

  • @bloodyrose385 first off, me either (abouth the firs time I've seen the vocaloids like this), and the thing I said, jk, don't take it too seriously. Lol.

  • The flowers on their faces are a symbol for acid pourn of their faces... :-(

  • I love this song it's pretty I think it's amazing :D

  • lol I loved how people used to be noobs about the story, and now everyone's all pro :P

  • This is really sad!! Especially when you know the story...

  • Wait what this story actually happened 2 innocent kids just like us omg that's terrible and I love Japan and want 2 go there when I'm done with school have money and have finished learning Japanese but that's just as who would do that 2 a kid :(

  • It was so creepy but pretty at the same time :(

  • NERU!?!?HAKU!?!?YOU B@$#%ES!YOU DID THIS TO MY LEN!IMMA KILL YOU!lol XD

  • *pulls out gun*

All right who's the fucker that did this to the poor Vocaloids?!

  • Where have the crazy trolls gone?

  • This is just so sad...the fact that it actually happened...those poor kids.

  • That.. Was.. AWESOME! :D

  • lol. silly children; this has nothing to do with kuroshitsuji! it's about ancient Japanese show huts where kids would have limbs or muscles rempved around and little girls get their virginity ripped right out of their precious little bodies. and people payed good money for it too. and unlike kuro, it ACTUALLY HAPPENED!

  • @margierules000 "little girls get their virginity ripped right out of their precious little bodies. " sorry, but, how exactly is THAT supposed to work..? o_O

  • @Mysticsloth Rape

  • @margierules000 Source, please? I'd like to read more. c:

  • @margierules000 THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!!

  • @margierules000 It was called the Edo Period in Japan. People watched young children from the age of 3/4 up get raped, or worse. Even killed.

  • Ancient ? Japanese ? Huts ? Guys, circuses with freak shows were banned in the 1940's in the USA ! For real. This clip is about THOSE circuses. The movie "Freaks" from 1932 was about one of those circuses, and it's a classic. Just look up youtube for extracts of the movie and you'll see the clear link. Don't give the Japanese all the credit for those kind of horrors.

  • @margierules000 I watch Kuroshitsuji and I don't see how people would reference this to Kuroshitsuji... Oh well. Maybe I just like..Didn't make the connection >:U.

  • Kuroshitsuji for the win, Baron Kelvin kidnapped the kids in the manga and tortured them, Angelina killed the kids in the anime and sewed them together "The one with two heads."

  • I heard someone say this is a game?! Want it!!!

  • @Yuxsxr This isn't a ga,me, but there is a Vocaloid game called Project Diva, it;s only for the PSP and PS3 (Maybe any PS but i'm not sure) I think it only comes in Japanese... maybe English

  • GUYS!

There is an AMAZING story about this on quizazz.com called Dark Woods Circus, its a love story and if you dont like gay guys then ignore this...but it's an great story so far, you've gotta check it out!

  • I showed this song to a couple of my friends, who are Vocaloid noobs. They were wondering why the song said that Haku, the chairman, was 10 meters tall, as she wasn't deformed. I think it's in the children's eyes, like, Haku is the one controlling them, so therefore she is tall and powerful.

  • What was wrong with Meiko?

  • "It's fun!" my ***!

  • @KiariTheSage Wait... That's ironical :)

  • They all used to be normal too D':

  • I was really sad when all the circus people died but snake... although, snake was probably my favorite Kuroshitsuji circus character to begin with, lol

  • @Mangascribbler Mine too XD

  • @YGolover13 Yay!! XD

  • Oh god, each time i see this i remember the circus ark in Kuroshitsuji *shiver*

  • @Chisamangas oh yeah, beast, joker, dagger, smile :D, black, funny, some other people but eh, forgot o-o

  • @mikumikurawr1 there was the flame-thrower (Jumbo meh think) and the trapesist too (Wendy and Peter) the others ones...no one care 8D

I cried so much in this ark ;.; YANA TOBOSO Y U TROLL US?

  • @Chisamangas oh yeah XD

  • @mikumikurawr1 tough they are very forgettable >.> they speak, before the manor attack, like one or two lines for Wndy and Peter and Jumbo zero so ._.

BTW,am i the only one who is hungry when i re-look the curry contect ark? xD

  • @Chisamangas and no, your not the only one XD

  • @mikumikurawr1 because seriously, all these currys *-* and did you know that the curry buns are avaible in japan?! OO''

  • @Chisamangas yeah, but i didnt know curry was in britian even though i live there! XD

  • @mikumikurawr1 wow,your british?! so cool!

  • @mikumikurawr1 oops,i mean arc xD

  • @Chisamangas no no, its ark XD

  • @mikumikurawr1 really? Oo'' wow,and i tough i was bilingual x)

  • @Chisamangas LOL ikr so i agree with the top comment, ciel kinda looks like hes getting abused, me: poor ciel, after a few minutes later... me: oh thats miku XD

  • @mikumikurawr1 oh f*ck,didn't see it xD when looking at this i was more ''LOLOLOLOLKUROSHITSUJIREFERENCELOLOLOLOL'' xD at one moment i was like ''Sebby is the circus master! :O '' but i admit that miku look like crossdressed!ciel xD

I mostly associate ciel with Silent Hill, tough ._.

  • @Chisamangas i watched the movie silent hill, - shivers - it creeped me out but i am never playing the game and i seriously agree XD

  • @mikumikurawr1 never seeing the movie, only played the game :O

I admit,it's freaking creepy, and it challenged Bioshock for me so yeah xD

  • I've always dreamed of joining the circus. The Wolf girl. But now I'm reconsidering.

  • Damn! Songs like these make Rollin' Girl look happy!!

  • I ended up writing a story based strongly on this song and the Edo-period circuses for my Creative Writing class last semester. It was too good of an opportunity to pass up.

  • I feel so sorry for them. It's like, I want to help them, I want to get them out.

  • Warning: Common side affect of this song is violent depression

  • I feel bad for kaito! D: they took him as a child, and turned him into a cannibal. ("The beast that likes to eat cold things" also translates to "the beast that eats horrible things". Then, after so much, he turned crazy and is in a straight jacket. :'( but I feel bad for everyone else too... *shifts eyes*

  • HEY! YOU THERE! YES, YOU!, DON'T EVEN THINK ON READING OR WATCHING THE VIDEO, UNLESS YOU WANT TO HAVE NIGHTMARES D,:<

  • @KuraiY0ru lol, oops i just did. its a little scary if you watch it at midnight...yeah, don't do that like i did. ha ha ^ ^

  • @silentglaceon i gave that advice..because i already di. i listent this Friggin' song at midnight..and i was alone :ohgodwhathaveidone: i still have nightmares with this :(

  • @KuraiY0ru aww...im sorry to hear that -.- oh, and im sorry to make you click on this vid again, lol. i hope you wont have any more nightmares...just watch other better videos that wont give you nightmares ok? ^ ^

  • @KuraiY0ru *Is watching it at 1 AM* Eh, it's not so bad. Frankly, this song (and the video) strikes me as more sad than outright terrifying, plus there are much more terrifying/disturbing VOCALOID songs out there. Well, just stay away from Okaasan and you'll be alright. :3

  • @EbiNoUmmei Is following your Advice, Today i learnt that Vocaloid songs with weird names are not suitable for Scaredy-cats. Also check this, The "Story" behind Dark wood Circus: xxterraxx.deviantart(dot)com/journal/Vocaloid-s-Dark-Woods-Circus-BASED-ON-TRUE-STORY-221390161

  • @KuraiY0ru Already knew the story, and that just made it more tragic for me. Also, Okaasan isn't really a weird name, it's Japanese for "Mother," but it's frequently considered the most disturbing Vocaloid song.

  • @EbiNoUmmei Thanks for letting me find a freaky, yet AWESOME song!

  • @EbiNoUmmei uhhh... i looked up okaasan right after you said that. i cant move. serves me right for being defiant! =D

  • so sad ToT..

  • What's wrong with Miku? It calls her a 'deformed diva', but is there actually anything wrong with her? Everyone else's problems are easily seen.

  • @CapriccioFarce911 They chopped off her legs, and sowed on a deers legs. :( There's supposedly more, but I am not so sure

  • @CapriccioFarce911 I think that she had acid thrown on her face and was blinded, had her legs chopped off and replaced with deer legs, and she was raped from what I understand

  • @Mangascribbler I know exactly what you mean...

  • Awww sad but I did like how the one with two heads was Len and Rin! I'm not trying to be sick I just like how they made them be together........I'm sorry if I sound sick or twisted.......I'm bot trying to be GOMENNASAI!

  • this made me cry

  • Wow... That was really sad. ;_; I guess people will always be fucked up.

  • This song is really good! It's sad, though, that people would do this to innocent children. The song though is amazing and has a creepy, scary feel to it!

  • i feel really so bad for all my cold attitude toward the disadvantaged.....

  • I'm thinking people associate this with Kuroshitsuji due to the fact that Ciel was abused and put in a cage, no?

  • @Mangascribbler I associate it with Kuroshitsuji, which I'm currently reading, because one a few chapters it features a circus that kidnaps children. But yeah, people think of that to

  • @Mangascribbler I was actually thinking about Baron Kelvin and how he brainwashed children and had them perform in his private circus, but that's just me.

  • @Mangascribbler And the whole thing is kind of in the same style. Ciel's story takes place in the 1600's, and from the carriages and just the feel, this song is based farther in the past, as well. And, of course, the coldly pretty children, too~

  • @LastWish11 Sorry, no. They talk about Jack the ripper and well... that was in 1888. That already disproves your point.

  • @LastWish11 you mean 1800's?

  • This reminds me of the black butler series and I love this song

  • @peacebffs1 exactly :D or should i do D:

  • What.. in.. the fuck. Did I just watch.

  • @Zonedoutallthetime seriously i looked up "fun circus music" fail.

  • Sinister... And creepy.

  • for some reason, when I watch this, I think of Black Butler

  • Cruel ppl :/

  • my band is named Dark Woods Circus...then i found this song D: also, you can't find a lot of information on the story because the japanese government destroyed most traces of these events

  • I feel bad for them. This video should be shown to the world

  • @SayaKuro12 well, to represents child abuse

  • So this is what Gamzee was talking about.

  • 0:32 I have seen this video hundreds of times BUT I NEVER SAW THE EYE ON THE LEFT

  • @LenKagamine16174 IKR?!?!?!? o3o

  • <3

  • For some obvious reason... I wanna kill someone. The one behind all that madness to be specifcic TT=TT (Gah those poor poor children...)

  • It's amazingly sad how terrible and true this is.

Long ago, in the Edo period of Japan (Google it), they did this to poor little children.

They disfigured them and displayed them for money.

The flowers respresent the acid thrown on them when they misbehaved...

The "rotten fruit" represents them being sexually abused in front of others for profit....

These children were tortured, harassed, and deprived.

It's sad how these Pleasure Tents actually made so much money.

But at least it's over now.

  • Who or what is in the pic at 2:38?

  • Comment removed

  • They should make a movie or an anime of this!

  • @LegendaryTeamful touche. THIS SUMMER!!! :D

  • @piannoplayerr i was planning to do it any ways..

  • I feel bad for Miku :(

  • Seriously, now, whoever wrote this song to begin with needs to write a song about a hero, or group of heroes, bringing the people in charge of that circus to justice and freeing the performers (read: slaves). If not the original writer(s), SOMEBODY make it happen!

  • My God... I actually cried at this. This was how kids were treated in the circuses (circi?) of Edo era Japan! Can you believe how sick people can be!? ...I swear. If I EVER find a circus today that does this. I'm gonna have the law on 'em so fast, their heads'll spin. Right off their shoulders, hopefully. fknchldtrtrngbstrdsrgnnpy

  • @mdalsted what was with the fknchldtrtrngbstrdsrgnnpy @ the end?

  • @piannoplayerr That was me fuming. I was saying, "Fucking child-torturing bastards are gonna pay."

  • this prove people who are "different" are treated badly

  • the person who drew this is probably laughing at us cuz we made up so many theories on what really happened that we don't really know anymore

  • Am I the only one who listens to this song for fun? I like this song!

  • okay... i didn't want to sleep anyway o_o

  • Who needs sleep?

  • i like this song

  • whats up with miku legs at 2:49?

  • @Thuywithfangs it said that she was a deformed diva

  • @Thuywithfangs Her legs were cut off, and replaced with horse legs. :(

  • hes not technaly a canibal he has the brain of a dog so ya hes gonna eat ppl but .....not a canniabal just a person with the brain of a dog

  • @XDblackbutlerXD "technically" cannibalism is the consumption of your own species. Therefore it doesn't matter why he eats his own kind, he's still "technically" a cannibal.

  • @taegra well technically his "species" is a DOG duh he dossent have the brain of a human therfor he is a DOG...but u do have a point there!...

  • @XDblackbutlerXD Uhm, it doesn't work like that. He's still a human.

  • I've always liked this song.. this was the first song I've heard from Vocaloid. But in the start I didn't knew about the story behind this song.. ofc, I've knew it was a sad song, but I didn't knew that this was from the time called the Edo period in Japan. It's so.. terrible. I cry when i listen to it. And I did it before I knew the story behind this song too. So.. yeah. Btw, I'm norwegian, and my english sucks, I know. . __ . We almost don't learn a shit at school..

  • actually apparently it still happens today.
