I'm almost through reading "Those Are Real Bullets" by Peter Pringle and Philip Jacobson and watching these films helps me get a visualization of what the place looked like, what the streets were, what the barracades looked like, etc. I highly recommend the book.It is terrible what those soldiers did.What they did was outright murder and what's worse is it was premeditated.Sorry bunch of jackanapes.Too bad they can't be prosecuted.

The para's lost control and resulted in the death of civilians FACT. I think you should not blame the catholics in the north of ireland and blame your government. It was they who refused to acknowledge the oppression and descrimination going on in the north and denied them democracy by banning the civil rights march.

At late notice the march was rerouted to go back to free derry corner. A small minority of the marchers marched on up to barricade too march to the guild hall which was the original route. They reached the barricade and a small minority mostly teenagers began throwing stones. The I.R.A had no connectiong with the civil rights association

@MrMickroach where in the saville report does it say martin mcguiness probably fired the first shots? the report clearly states the ira fired but missed their targets and it was infact the support company who fired the first shots. The report also states that the para's did not fire rounds due to people throwing or intending to throw nail or petrol bombs. Martin mcGuiness was carrying a sub-machine gun because of the over the top presence of the army in the city.

@MrMickroach Father Reid is a great man who was involved in the peace process in the north of Ireland. He had no involvement with the I.R.A. He acted a the "middle man" between sinn fein and the sdlp to try to unite the parties in their goal for a united ireland. He also done great work in spain and has been awarded various awards to acknowledge his work. Why do you feel the need to slander his name?

@MrMickroach Father Alec reid was at the corporal killings in andersonstown to administer the last rites to those soldiers who died. He also administered CPR to try and revive them. Father Reid once said that the nationalist community were treated like animals, the same as the nazis treated the jews. He had no involvement in secreting away evidence as you put it. To make such a claim is rediculous. He was involved in peace work on both sides of the troubles.
