Its a fact the more violent crimes take place in the most gun restrictive area,s ,,Case in point DC versus Arlington VA . the reason for the second amendment is to protect your state and family from the Federal government .we have places where only the police have guns we call them "Prisons",if you,d feel safer there easy to get into !
If a law abiding citizen has a gun. Never done anything wrong. He drinks to much and decides to go hunting. But he shoots your kid or brother, that would be nasty right? He never became a criminal, it's an accident. Still, your relative is dead. Idem with cars, a drunk person should not be driving a car. So it's not guns, it's people.
@DucknCoverin Smart ass, it's about non-law enforcement people.
@RensDem thats why i very much agree with the safety laws like up here in canada i needed to take a written AND a practical test so people who have their gun license actually have some training (safe handling /storage) and know what their doing
I tried calling 911 9 times so far. They did not respond . The Government okayed a gun range 200 feet away from me,letting 9-12 year old kids shoot beside me,with no fences, sound barriers, they shoot at an open road, in the line of fire, Why ? because the POLICE and the RCMP needed a place to shoot. What our Government is teaching kids, its okay to do this! I Hunt, but not for sport, I Hunt because I need the food, not for play. Check out my 3 videos
@RensDem oh ya that will work lets make laws to stop people who break laws, and while were at it lets make crime illegal. why do you think they call them criminals?
The percentage and absolute number of gun related kills in the US is way higher! Just take the guns out of the equation. Nobody said that's an easy thing to do, but the facts don't lie.
@RensDem And how do you suggest we "take guns out of the equation"? Ban their sales and seize them from law abiding citizens. Unfortunately theirs this pesky element in society called the criminal. They don't care about obeying laws. Congratulations! We just gave the worst of society ultimate power over us. Thank goodness we can call the authorities to help us. Oh....wait they're pinned down behind a police cruiser being shot at by criminals since we banned guns and disarmed them.
@RensDem Yes the more guns you have the more potential for gun related death. Congratulations you just stated something that is common sense. The same goes for anything. Did you know the annual number of traffic deaths in Los Angeles was far greater than they are in Bumfuk County, WV? More cars equals more potential for auto related deaths. AMAZING! Incidentally far more people die annually in the US from auto accidents than guns. We should ban cars. Not easy, but he facts don't lie.
Ha, ha, wise guy... but you prove my point. What's your point?
In general, guns are made to kill and cars are made to drive.
The point I try to make is, give the person a stick and he'd poke you to death. Problem is, it isn't fast and easy enough for a local bad boy who wants to earn quick money. And it gives you, the law abiding citizen, a chance to get out of trouble without and major injury. An average robery doesn't take long enough to get killed by a stick.
Firearms project a piece of lead at high velocities wherever they are aimed.
A gun is not made to "kill"
The person who uses the gun decides what to do with it.
If you want to continue grasping at straws, I'll join in.
Why are sports cars legal? I'll contend that sports cars kill more people annually than firearms. Sports Cars are made to go fast. Why do you need a car that goes over 80 MPH?
@jigglypiggly ya have you ever noticed how hilariously stupid the anti-gun logic looks when you try to apply it to anything else? thats how you can tell its bad logic.
@wheatgrinder762by54 Might be because guns are not to be treated equal to anything else. It's a tough subject. If there weren't any criminals on the streets with guns, I bet you wouldn't mind leaving your gun at the shooting range. But you are right, comparing this subject with any other, like a car, is kind of funny.
@RensDem Yea and if our forefathers were using sticks you would even be here to talk all that BULLSHIT, Yes guns are made to kill, food for our table,to protect your family,to target practice,as sport, but most of all the 2nd amendment was put into place to protect the constitution YOU GET MY POINT SMART GUY WITH A STICK?
@RensDem your not thinking this through are you? criminals don't obey laws, they can get guns wether its legal or not, banning guns would only affect citizens who were never a problem to begin with. why do anti gun people have such difficulty realizing this?
Yes I am, you are not. If there weren't any guns for people to buy in the first place, then nobody has to protect themselfs from criminals with guns. You can't do it over night, true, but if they just stopped selling them, giving the gun-shop-owners a chance to find another way to get money, things wouldn't get any worse.
And any law abiding citizen can drink a bit to much, or just lose his temper and get the gun and shoot. I can't, I've got no idea were to get a gun.
@RensDem YOU NEED TO TAKE A CLOSER LOOK AT THE HISTORY OF WEAPONS,IGNORANT MAN WITH A STICK YOUR FOREFATHERS WOULD BE ROLLING IN THERE GRAVE IF THEY HEARD THE IGNORANT WORDS THAT YOU SPEAK. Damn son i have guns and have gotten drunk more than once in my life never robbed anyone, killed anyone, never had a bad accident with a gun, raised my kids around them, Damn if you think you can not control a gun or a car ,don't buy em!
@RensDem people who want to kill will always find a way. if guns were never invented we would have kept using swords axes and bows and arrows. disarming everyone in an attempt to stop those who make a living off of finding ways around the laws is a stupid illogical move and will never work. why do people blame guns whenever someone does something stupid? if you killed some one with your car is it the cars fault?
Jup. So if the law didn't ban guns, but made the rules around guns much harder (sorry if that isn't correct english), less people would be able to get guns and the streets would be safer. Left or right, I'll be against having guns at home. The problem is, it's very hard to get all the guns of the streets and then out of the houses of the 'law abiding citizen'.
We in the US have made a lot of progress on our firearms rights here in the last decade or two, but we still have a long way to go... You folks up in Canuckistan have even farther - but you'll get there with smart, beautiful and well-spoken folks like yourself in the fight!!
Takes 1 to 2 minutes to make the 911 call it takes 3 minutes for the person on the other end of the phone to ask ya whats up and where are you in the house and then get your address, takes 10 to 15 or 20 minutes for the police to arrive on scene, and takes a split second for the guy to pull his trigger. Although the police will clean up the bloody mess that is if ya bleed after you have been shot! I will protect myself and call 911 so they can clean up the bad guy's.2nd amendment cant change.
SO TRUE!!! I don't know about the rest of you guys, but until police can just transport next to you, weapons rights shouldn't even be considered being minimized.
as much as i HATE guns, even i know police wont or cant get to you in time, even with lights and sirens saying "GET THE HELL OUTA MY WAY!", all a cop can do, unless they live down the block or a minute away is deal with things after the fact, and times get a lot more dangerous, a person just about needs a firearm these days
@wheatgrinder762by54 i have a number of reasons, the noise, the fact that they can and often do kill(you cant just say "hey bullet come back"), but the biggest is my father, he loved his guns and other things i wont mention, but not us
@feralbigdog i see. id like to address this points if i may. i myself like the loud bangs of different types of guns, but i admit that thats probably not for everyone. secondly guns are inanimate objects, their only as good or bad as the person currently using them. and if your willing to accept the fact that most people are good and would do the right thing, would it be wrong to assume that more people with guns would mean more good people with guns?
@wheatgrinder762by54 how do you know who is good and bad? good people with guns i dont have a problem with, if it makes you happy to wear a gun wear as many as you want, ive never had a problem those are responsible, but one case i saw on a documentary type show had a group of young adults, one brought a gun for targeting, and this is kinda long i may have to do it in 2 or more replies, and they took turns shooting at cans, one person who took a turn aimed too high,,,,,,,,,,
@wheatgrinder762by54 second part to continue where i left off, the bullet went and struck a man sitting in a chair(it was probably a magnum bullet) who was telling stories to a group of kids at a family reunion, he died right there infront of them, that first group may have been very nice people, the kind that might respond if you are attacked and call for help, but one mistake is all it takes. i think this was on discovery channel or TLC many years ago
As a Canadian I am annoyed at our gun laws. Due to our gun laws I instructed my friends and family on how to use a combat knife correctly in a fight, and i have quite the arsenal of sharp and pointed objects. I wish they would allow firearms to the public, because most of the time the pizza will arrive long before the police...
Blanchard Oklahoma authorities don't plan to file charges against an Oklahoma woman (18 year old Sarah Mckinley) who fatally shot a New Year's Eve intruder at her house while she had a 911 dispatcher on the phone, but the intruder's alleged accomplice has been charged in the death.
Oklahoma law allows the use of deadly force against intruders, and prosecutors said McKinley clearly acted in self-defense. According to court documents, Martin was holding a knife when he died.
Police and dispatchers I've dealt with are dumb shits, they never took me seriously and by the time they arrived at the scene, the perpetrator had left - the cop found him after he started to quicken his pace but let him go. The cop had the guy and would have caught him red-handed but let it go. This was a neighborhood sex offender we're talking about.
Nice video. I think people need to be logical about 911. It can be a great service, and I would rather have it than not have it. However, your own abilities and rational thinking should always trump a 911 call. 911 is a dispatch, a person on a phone. They can not magically save you. You have to save you until help can arrive.
@otester well in the UK, the law states that people can only fight an intruder if the intruder poses a threat of violence, but the attitude of juries is usually give a not guilty verdict to anyone accused of killing a burglar, even if they did break the law.
You may use reasonable force to defend ones self/property, so confront the burglar with the weapon, maybe cock it again so he can see a live shotgun cartridge pop out, he should surrender on the spot, if he continues to pose a threat or is armed, aim for non-lethal shots.
Personally I'd prefer an air gun, no license, holds more ammunition and even if you do shoot him it's a lot less likely to kill (I like to sleep well at night :).
@otester i thouhgt yall could not have guns any way?
also here because of the castle laws we can shoot to kill and we are imune to prosicution (there are cases where that didnt take presidence thought but its rare.)
Hand gun/assault rifle license is out of the question. Getting a long rifle/shotgun is a lot easier and requires a "valid" reason (sport/farmer), self-defense doesn't count unfortunately, after a background check and house inspection to check whether the storage requirements are met, the license is issued.
You can shoot to kill in the UK, you just have to be able to justify it.
But the US is quickly becoming a police state, something which would prevent me from moving there, maybe if Ron Paul gets elected in 2012 I'll reconsider.
your wise beyond your years young lady! and you could not be more right. everyone needs to to be able to protect themselves and loved ones.keep spreading the good word
In the US, the DOJ sent out a letter stating that if you have a LEGAL medical marijuana license and reside in the state where it is LEGAL to grow your own medicine, the DOJ has put you on a list and has said outright, that you have NO LEGAL RIGHT to gun ownership and are likely to be raided. So say goodbye to state's rights, to civil rights, to human rights, and when we're raided say goodbye to anything else they feel like stealing, like coins, cash and paintings. Naziesk..eh?
@2tommyrad Duhh...you shouldn't be using a gun if you're using marijuana. That's common sense! I'm all for legal gun ownership & legal carry, but not while under the influence. Alcohol's legal too, but not while carrying a gun. Like I said...COMMON SENSE!
@tnpataka Fuck off moron, we are talking about people who are licensed by the state to grow cannabis, to single them out and say they should not have the right to bear arms just like everyone else is wrong, and discriminatory, and just the Feds trying to cling to their absolute failure of a "war on drugs"
@clovis6000 I think, by your response, you just proved you don't have the mental capacity to safely own a firearm. It's not discrimination. In most states it's even illegal to carry a fairearm while using certain over the counter drugs. It's a shame when druggies & drug dealers get turned loose into society. Get clean buddy!
@tnpataka you still don't understand do you? The feds are prohibiting state licensed cannabis producers from owning firearms, not users, producers, that's like telling a liquor store or bar owner that they can't have firearms, and that's discrimination and that's not fair.
Wake up and stop believing everything the government tells you, you're a tool of the propagandists.
Good videos! You're spreading a positive message about owning guns. It's not about shoot 'em up, like you see on TV. It's about having the freedom to own firearms & the ability take resposibility to deffend yourself and/or your family. No one is going to ever take my guns away! KEEP MAKING THESE VIDEOS!!
Remember this a GUN in hand is worth ten cops on the phone.
When you have only seconds to live the police are only minutes away. When they arrive they put a doa tag on your toe.Survive don't be swayed buy those who insist that the police can protect you, that's a myth, they can't, learn to use a pistol or revolver, survive.
Home defense is not guns it is keep the bad people outside long enough for you to call the cops and for them to get there (50 minutes). That also mean when you are not there. So you don’t have to shoot them and have nightmares the rest of your life. Only after you set up you first, second, and third line of defense do you worry about a stupid gun. But do get a stupid gun so you can shoot the bad people if the cops don’t show un in the 50 minutes.
The primary role of the police is to investigate crime and provide the evidence to the prosecutors. American, British and Canadian laws were founded on the right to bear arms and use lethal force to protect property and people (google castle laws). The modern, socialist, nanny states we live in have usurped this role to concentrate power in their hands. This is a philosophical battle, and we are losing.
@13KJQ Castle Doctrine - reason #6087 that I left NJ and moved to GA.
In GA, I have no duty to retreat when confronted with a violent threat to my life as long as I'm in a place that I have a legal right to be. That and the people are nicer.
@13KJQ unfortunately the police rrest you if you brandish a firearm in defense of yourself. i am a case of this. im currently involved in a court battle where 6 men tried to attack me on my property and i scared them off with warning shots from a mini 14. i was then arrested byt he same offcer i had spoken to earlier that evening in regards to threats from these men to which he responded and i quote "im a jeffeson county sherriffs deputy and do not have time for highschool bullshit"
@gcg72790 whats funny is if you join the rights to carry conceled weapon club which are fighting to keep the 2nd ammendment. they will give you $150,000 for battling your case in court and now i see why !Any way you look at your case atleast you are alive and can look at it! that mini14 may have saved your life, good luck in your case and look up conceled carry clubs to join you can talk with someone that may help!
It's the same in Britain. The Prevention of Crime Act prohibits the routine carrying of weapons following the rulling by The Court of Appeal that one under an enduring threat must "resort to the protection of the law". Please WHAT protection, given that The Court of Appeal invariably dismisses applications for a Writ of Mandamus to compell the police to provide such protection, and claims for compensation arising from the frequent failure of the British police to protect the private person?
That's nothing. In 1871-- note the date, only 5 years after the so-called "Civil War of freedom--" the Supreme Court ruled in US v Cruikshank, that there is NO right to be armed, "leaving the people to look for their protection against any violation by their fellow-citizens of the rights it recognizes, to what is called, in The City of New York v. Miln, the "powers which relate to merely municipal legislation, or what was, perhaps, more properly called internal police,"
does anyone even realize that in the us guns are used over 2 million times a year to protect lives. thats just by everyday people. if you want to realy on police to save yo when someone bursts into your house putting your family in dire straights... then good luck. we'll be readin about you in the paper.
what about the millions & millions of 911 calls that actually save lives?? easy to point out the mishaps here and there.. but never give credit when they actually help.. fkng 1 sided wench!
If you call 911 and they actually get there before anything bad happens to you, chances are, you weren't in real danger to begin with. Your "millions and millions" number is nothing but thin air. Criminals use the element of ambush and surprise, try to dial your phone with your dick while both of your hands are up in the air when the robbers tell you to "stick 'em up". Dumbass.
@phalanxbl what a dumbass reply. listen dumb person. if a thug is hell bent on robbing you and killing you there is no service out there thats going to help you with in reason. there are millions and millions of 911 calls made each year.. and yes there is a large % that are not life threatening.. but to say that the system doesnt work & to point out a few mishaps is just not a fair spin this girl is putting on it..i know of 2 people personally that used the service and YES it saved there lives
You fucking moron, she's talking about using 911 to stop an ATTACKER.
If you wanna gamble your life on a fool's chance like that, fine-- doesn't sound like much of a loss anyway if you're that stupid, more like natural selection.
@SovereignStatesman u must be her fat ugly boyfriend.. she states "DIAL 911 AND DIE" if u dont think there is nothing wrong with that or the stupid book she is endorsing is a little extreme, then go eat ur fucking hoagies slob! 911 works more then it doesnt! so when ur choking on ur hoagie and someone calls 911 to give instructions to assist u and it saves ur life, let me know if u still think this video does 911 justice!!!!
The fuck? This is so fucking moronic I don't even know exactly how to reply. So you're saying that because - some of the time - police respond in a timely manner and do their job, we should ALWAYS rely solely on them? How are you so blind to your own logical fallacies, ingrate?
People give a portion of their paycheck to the shits on welfare who rob them, and another portion to the pigs who don't protect them. Then you say the 2nd amendment shouldn't apply? Lol what a joke. Gtfo.
@FreshSqueezedLoyalty wow! what a slap dick u r! where did i say u have to solely rely on a 911 call! and the 2nd amendment shouldnt apply? WTF kind of drugs u on. get me some! if i have a gun and someone breaks into my house im killing them.. then dialing 911!! im simply stating that 911 does work more then it doesnt work!!! slow ur mind down and read what i said!! get of the coke and pills and relax!! ur going to have a heart attack!!
I personally know someone who was stabbed and called 911 and they didn't show up for an hour. This particular person was an 80 year old woman. Go look up more shit about the horrible job the people we pay do for us. Do you even have a job? Do you look at the money that comes out of your paycheck? The police WORK FOR YOU because YOU pay them, yet they can't do their simple job of getting off their asses and driving to your house because they're too busy eating donuts.
@FreshSqueezedLoyalty I live in the States, and its not that they are eating donuts, its the simple fact that there are not enough police to go around, and they cannot be in two places at once. You have to help yourself to survive. As one Police officer said to me once when someone broke into my car, Would you rather we answer your call for a theft from your car, or someone who is being home invaded and probably will die if we dont get there in time? That was the end of my bitching.
@bonsa100 While I agree with what the cop told you, you should read the book she talks about in the video: "Dial 911 And Die". I read it a few years ago, and it was shocking. The many, many cases referenced in it weren't about the cops being too busy. They were about the cops not showing up at all, or in a few cases even when they did show up they were so incompetent that they left without doing anything to help the victims even though the crime was still in progress!!!!!!
@futuresonex I have to admit, that does sound bad, but as we all know, there are always some people in every sort of job that should not really be there, and just collect the money. Thanks for the reference to the book, it sounds interesting reading.
@bonsa100 In most of the cases I read about in the book the problem was that police didn't show up at all--which likely has more to do with lousy 911 dispatchers than the cops themselves. (My cousin's mother had a heart attack a couple months ago & rather than immediately sending an ambulance the 911 dispatcher called back 10min later to make sure the heart attack was real!!!) Fortunately the cases of massive police incompetence were rare, but, regardless of the reason, dead is dead.
@poker4080 - In my experience, 911 has had a terrible success rate. "What are you doing out this late at night?" was the question the cops asked my mom when a rapist tried to drag her into a back alley. When I was forced to call the police for a domestic incident years later, I was threatened with arrest for "starting trouble." I won't be calling them ever again, though i may one day have to call the coroner. :) If you think the title is extreme, what about dying? Check out copblock.org.
@poker4080 Not really. If a crazy guy with a gun comes in your house with the intention of killing you he'd only need maybe 5 seconds to finish you. Now maybe you have some damn fast cops where you live but I don't know any that move that fast.
@poker4080 Just remember, when the sociopathic killer will reach you & your family in seconds, the cops are only minutes away!!!!! You seriously need to read the book!!!!!!!!!
Right on, Katey! And here's some scary fact that I'd learned from my uncle, who is a retired cop. I remembered his warning when I said I want to be a security guard, that the police dispatcher will actually weigh priority of emergency calls based on who is calling. A fellow officer's call for help will ALWAYS take priority over 911 call of a regular citizen. Remember, this is a warning from my uncle, who is a former cop.
if i got attacked or my home broke into, id defend take whatever force necessary then ask questions, and call the cops, if i'm brought to court, i know the law states i can defend myself in such surcumstances, so i would just bring that up in court,
the law says we have the right to self defence its the cops that would rather you die waiting for them!
With the same "don't tell that to me" you could make a video about how many kids have been killed by someone who "mistakenly" shot them while they were playing a simple prank on their friends car => like painting the tyres pink, when three 15-17 boys were shot by father of the owner because he thought they are stealing the wheels...
When you carry out a stupid prank, you take the risk. Don't do stupid shit, and you won't get shot by people trying to protect them and theirs.
I sure as hell wouldn't sneak around in my best friend's backyard, no matter how close we are. He has a wife and a baby daughter to protect, and if I was stupid enough to snoop around in his backyard, I'd deserve to get shot by him.
@phalanxbl in other words, don't even walk in close proximity to my property or I'll kill you?
The car prank story I referred to happened on a public street, where anyone can walk around, maybe even take a look at the "nice fluffy dog" you got on the dash... With firearms comes great power, which is by default deadly. If you can't manage that power, you should not be allowed to own firearms.
Anyone walking in my backyard, I'd be asking questions first, shooting later. Even with my family around
It'll take the cops at least several minutes to arrive. Your own safety is in your own hands. You CANNOT abdicate that responsibility. Grow up and act like an adult, rather than acting like a child and expecting the Big Brother Government to protect you at every turn. The bottom line is, they are NOT obligated to protect you at all, and that's just factual legal precedent.
@Kajo123456 Are you really that stupid?!?!? That's not at all what the video, or the book she referenced, was about! It's about how many people get raped, beaten and/or murdered while waiting for the police to show up after calling 911, and she made that pretty clear. But you go ahead and depend totally on being able to dial 911 if some killer decides to stage a home invasion at your place. From the sounds of it, the gene pool would be better off without you in it anyhow.
this is what happens when political correctness takes over, especially here in canada. This political correctness partly stems from multiculturalism and the fact,at least here in toronto the majority of violent crimes aare caused by immigranst and refugees who come here knowing thaat our laws make it impossible to defend ourselves. The same can be said for caucasion criminals as well.If a criminal no matter their nationality knows they won't be held accountable, then its open season on the innocent
Well if you did not live in cracker box she would not have need to get the gun. I am glad she knew how. No one will kick your door or your windows in two seconds if it is build the right way they will spend hrs trying. It seems Most people are happy buy cracker boxes even if they paid half a million for it.
I wonder why they picked 911 as the emergency number! In the UK it's 999 which is also kinda dumb because on the old dial phones which were in use at the time, 999 takes the longest to dial(apart from 000) Logically speaking, 111 would be the quickest number to dial on a dial phone.
Nothing to do with this video but i just had to put it out their, lol.
@aodgabelogan 911 was picked as the emergency number when 411 was picked as the nationwide information number, before it was 411 it was 1-555-1212, and if you wanted the cops you dialed 0 for the operator first, then they connected you to the cops, but it was changed because it took too long.
@NinjaRider777R I remember staying with my grandma in rural Washington near Pullman, and there was no 911 service. You had to know the full number for the fire department, sheriff's department, etc. Whenever I was staying with her she drilled those numbers into my head.
You are damn right Katey it is exactly the same here in the UK, it has been stated in the High Court and by the Government, the police have no duty of care to protect people from crime or violence.
This does create a problem for the UK Government since when they are questioned about the UK peoples right to bear arms the Government states that we have no need to be armed "you should contact your local Police Force" if you feel that you are in some kind of danger from crime or violence.
You're right on the money! It doesn't stop with police and gun ownership.
Might as well include good first aid/emergency medical training is important to own because EMS may or may NOT get there in time... and some very basic firefighter safety/survival skills (egress, navigation, forcible exit, fire-spread-delay tactics)... because the Fire Dept may not get there in time.
Self sufficiency is the foundation of all liberty!:)
Well said Katey. I live in the country in Northern San Diego, Ca & I can say your telling it straight! Cops are not required to "save your life" or to die for you. If they show up it's usually more than 10-15 mins wait. Thats a long time to be stabbed/raped. The cops are not just gonna bust down the door like in TV and save you. Nope. Your gonna wait some more with the rapist untill the cops figure out how to try not to kill everyone including you, infront of the News crews and look bad.
It's true. As a former 911 communication dispatcher I'm here to tell you that the old saying "when seconds count the police are only minutes away", is very true. Gun grabbers, Constitution shredders, left wing types of all stripes, don't care about the facts. The truth about being able to defend yourself with a gun is not what they care about, it's about disarming us as Americans. We might then be easier to control. Hitler instituted gun control for "safety". He gave great speeches to...

The problem of this whole thing is humans.
- A 100+ year old law, may need to get updated.
- If you like to shoot at targets, go to a shooting range, hire a gun and leave it there.
- If it wasn't so easy for a criminal to get a gun, you didn't need one to protect yourself. Whenever you shoot a criminal, I stand beside you.
- @TheBakerman55 You don't need to SHOUT I'M NOT BLIND!!
- @jigglypiggly We agree. Cars shouldn't. But on the racetrack they should.

If there are no guns in the hands of criminals, why should you have one?
So just ban guns and you might become a civilised country.

@RensDem oh ya that will work lets make laws to stop people who break laws, and while were at it lets make crime illegal. why do you think they call them criminals?
wheatgrinder762by54 1 week ago
@wheatgrinder762by54 How many people in Europe have guns?
How many people in the US have guns?
How many people get shot in Europe and the US?
The percentage and absolute number of gun related kills in the US is way higher! Just take the guns out of the equation. Nobody said that's an easy thing to do, but the facts don't lie.
RensDem 1 week ago
@RensDem if you take the guns away from law abiding people, only the criminals will have them
feralbigdog 1 week ago
@RensDem And how do you suggest we "take guns out of the equation"? Ban their sales and seize them from law abiding citizens. Unfortunately theirs this pesky element in society called the criminal. They don't care about obeying laws. Congratulations! We just gave the worst of society ultimate power over us. Thank goodness we can call the authorities to help us. Oh....wait they're pinned down behind a police cruiser being shot at by criminals since we banned guns and disarmed them.
DucknCoverin 1 week ago
@RensDem Yes the more guns you have the more potential for gun related death. Congratulations you just stated something that is common sense. The same goes for anything. Did you know the annual number of traffic deaths in Los Angeles was far greater than they are in Bumfuk County, WV? More cars equals more potential for auto related deaths. AMAZING! Incidentally far more people die annually in the US from auto accidents than guns. We should ban cars. Not easy, but he facts don't lie.
DucknCoverin 1 week ago
@DucknCoverin
RensDem 1 week ago
And if someone really wanted to kill another person, jup, they could get a gun even in a kindergarden.
RensDem 1 week ago
@RensDem Wrong.
Why do you need a car that goes over 80 MPH?
jigglypiggly 1 week ago
@jigglypiggly ya have you ever noticed how hilariously stupid the anti-gun logic looks when you try to apply it to anything else? thats how you can tell its bad logic.
wheatgrinder762by54 1 week ago
@wheatgrinder762by54 Might be because guns are not to be treated equal to anything else. It's a tough subject. If there weren't any criminals on the streets with guns, I bet you wouldn't mind leaving your gun at the shooting range. But you are right, comparing this subject with any other, like a car, is kind of funny.
RensDem 1 week ago
@RensDem Yea and if our forefathers were using sticks you would even be here to talk all that BULLSHIT, Yes guns are made to kill, food for our table,to protect your family,to target practice,as sport, but most of all the 2nd amendment was put into place to protect the constitution YOU GET MY POINT SMART GUY WITH A STICK?
TheBakerman55 1 week ago
@RensDem your not thinking this through are you? criminals don't obey laws, they can get guns wether its legal or not, banning guns would only affect citizens who were never a problem to begin with. why do anti gun people have such difficulty realizing this?
wheatgrinder762by54 1 week ago
@wheatgrinder762by54
Yes I am, you are not.
RensDem 1 week ago
TheBakerman55 1 week ago
@RensDem people who want to kill will always find a way. if guns were never invented we would have kept using swords axes and bows and arrows. disarming everyone in an attempt to stop those who make a living off of finding ways around the laws is a stupid illogical move and will never work. why do people blame guns whenever someone does something stupid? if you killed some one with your car is it the cars fault?
wheatgrinder762by54 1 week ago 2
@wheatgrinder762by54

I will protect myself and call 911 so they can clean up the bad guy's.2nd amendment cant change.

as much as i HATE guns, even i know police wont or cant get to you in time, even with lights and sirens saying "GET THE HELL OUTA MY WAY!", all a cop can do, unless they live down the block or a minute away is deal with things after the fact, and times get a lot more dangerous, a person just about needs a firearm these days

@feralbigdog why do you hate guns?
wheatgrinder762by54 1 week ago
@wheatgrinder762by54 i have a number of reasons, the noise, the fact that they can and often do kill(you cant just say "hey bullet come back"), but the biggest is my father, he loved his guns and other things i wont mention, but not us
feralbigdog 1 week ago
@feralbigdog i see. id like to address this points if i may. i myself like the loud bangs of different types of guns, but i admit that thats probably not for everyone. secondly guns are inanimate objects, their only as good or bad as the person currently using them. and if your willing to accept the fact that most people are good and would do the right thing, would it be wrong to assume that more people with guns would mean more good people with guns?
wheatgrinder762by54 1 week ago
@wheatgrinder762by54 how do you know who is good and bad? good people with guns i dont have a problem with, if it makes you happy to wear a gun wear as many as you want, ive never had a problem those are responsible, but one case i saw on a documentary type show had a group of young adults, one brought a gun for targeting, and this is kinda long i may have to do it in 2 or more replies, and they took turns shooting at cans, one person who took a turn aimed too high,,,,,,,,,,
feralbigdog 1 week ago

Nice video. I think people need to be logical about 911. It can be a great service, and I would rather have it than not have it. However, your own abilities and rational thinking should always trump a 911 call. 911 is a dispatch, a person on a phone. They can not magically save you. You have to save you until help can arrive.

You can in the UK technically, as long as you don't shoot him if he flees your ok, not sure how this translates into Canadian law though.
otester 2 months ago
@otester well in the UK, the law states that people can only fight an intruder if the intruder poses a threat of violence, but the attitude of juries is usually give a not guilty verdict to anyone accused of killing a burglar, even if they did break the law.
Corporatism 1 month ago
@Corporatism
You may use reasonable force to defend ones self/property, so confront the burglar with the weapon, maybe cock it again so he can see a live shotgun cartridge pop out, he should surrender on the spot, if he continues to pose a threat or is armed, aim for non-lethal shots.
Personally I'd prefer an air gun, no license, holds more ammunition and even if you do shoot him it's a lot less likely to kill (I like to sleep well at night :).
otester 1 month ago
@otester are you kidding
shoot to kill every round
or they may sue you and win
hardwirecars 1 month ago
@hardwirecars
The whole suing thing is less of an issue in the UK but shoot to kill may get you prison time if a jury disagrees.
otester 4 weeks ago
@otester i thouhgt yall could not have guns any way?
also here because of the castle laws we can shoot to kill and we are imune to prosicution (there are cases where that didnt take presidence thought but its rare.)
hardwirecars 4 weeks ago
@hardwirecars
Hand gun/assault rifle license is out of the question. Getting a long rifle/shotgun is a lot easier and requires a "valid" reason (sport/farmer), self-defense doesn't count unfortunately, after a background check and house inspection to check whether the storage requirements are met, the license is issued.
You can shoot to kill in the UK, you just have to be able to justify it.
otester 4 weeks ago
@otester
Cont.
Confronting a house invader would likely be within close quarters so an air pistol would probably be more suitable, hence my preference for it.
otester 4 weeks ago
@otester an air pistol? Really? Why not something that's going to stop your attacker like a 1911?
BeetsAndHam 3 weeks ago

In the US, the DOJ sent out a letter stating that if you have a LEGAL medical marijuana license and reside in the state where it is LEGAL to grow your own medicine, the DOJ has put you on a list and has said outright, that you have NO LEGAL RIGHT to gun ownership and are likely to be raided. So say goodbye to state's rights, to civil rights, to human rights, and when we're raided say goodbye to anything else they feel like stealing, like coins, cash and paintings. Naziesk..eh?

@tnpataka Fuck off moron, we are talking about people who are licensed by the state to grow cannabis, to single them out and say they should not have the right to bear arms just like everyone else is wrong, and discriminatory, and just the Feds trying to cling to their absolute failure of a "war on drugs"
clovis6000 2 months ago
@clovis6000 I think, by your response, you just proved you don't have the mental capacity to safely own a firearm. It's not discrimination. In most states it's even illegal to carry a fairearm while using certain over the counter drugs. It's a shame when druggies & drug dealers get turned loose into society. Get clean buddy!
tnpataka 2 months ago
@tnpataka you still don't understand do you? The feds are prohibiting state licensed cannabis producers from owning firearms, not users, producers, that's like telling a liquor store or bar owner that they can't have firearms, and that's discrimination and that's not fair.

Please WHAT protection, given that The Court of Appeal invariably dismisses applications for a Writ of Mandamus to compell the police to provide such protection, and claims for compensation arising from the frequent failure of the British police to protect the private person?

I personally know someone who was stabbed and called 911 and they didn't show up for an hour. This particular person was an 80 year old woman. Go look up more shit about the horrible job the people we pay do for us. Do you even have a job? Do you look at the money that comes out of your paycheck? The police WORK FOR YOU because YOU pay them, yet they can't do their simple job of getting off their asses and driving to your house because they're too busy eating donuts.
FreshSqueezedLoyalty 3 months ago
@FreshSqueezedLoyalty I live in the States, and its not that they are eating donuts, its the simple fact that there are not enough police to go around, and they cannot be in two places at once. You have to help yourself to survive. As one Police officer said to me once when someone broke into my car, Would you rather we answer your call for a theft from your car, or someone who is being home invaded and probably will die if we dont get there in time? That was the end of my bitching.
bonsa100 3 months ago
@bonsa100 While I agree with what the cop told you, you should read the book she talks about in the video: "Dial 911 And Die". I read it a few years ago, and it was shocking. The many, many cases referenced in it weren't about the cops being too busy. They were about the cops not showing up at all, or in a few cases even when they did show up they were so incompetent that they left without doing anything to help the victims even though the crime was still in progress!!!!!!
futuresonex 3 months ago
@futuresonex I have to admit, that does sound bad, but as we all know, there are always some people in every sort of job that should not really be there, and just collect the money. Thanks for the reference to the book, it sounds interesting reading.
bonsa100 3 months ago
@bonsa100 In most of the cases I read about in the book the problem was that police didn't show up at all--which likely has more to do with lousy 911 dispatchers than the cops themselves. (My cousin's mother had a heart attack a couple months ago & rather than immediately sending an ambulance the 911 dispatcher called back 10min later to make sure the heart attack was real!!!) Fortunately the cases of massive police incompetence were rare, but, regardless of the reason, dead is dead.
futuresonex 3 months ago
@poker4080 - In my experience, 911 has had a terrible success rate. "What are you doing out this late at night?" was the question the cops asked my mom when a rapist tried to drag her into a back alley. When I was forced to call the police for a domestic incident years later, I was threatened with arrest for "starting trouble." I won't be calling them ever again, though i may one day have to call the coroner. :) If you think the title is extreme, what about dying? Check out copblock.org.

Kajo123456 4 months ago
@Kajo123456
When you carry out a stupid prank, you take the risk. Don't do stupid shit, and you won't get shot by people trying to protect them and theirs.
I sure as hell wouldn't sneak around in my best friend's backyard, no matter how close we are. He has a wife and a baby daughter to protect, and if I was stupid enough to snoop around in his backyard, I'd deserve to get shot by him.
phalanxbl 4 months ago
@phalanxbl in other words, don't even walk in close proximity to my property or I'll kill you?
The car prank story I referred to happened on a public street, where anyone can walk around, maybe even take a look at the "nice fluffy dog" you got on the dash... With firearms comes great power, which is by default deadly. If you can't manage that power, you should not be allowed to own firearms.
Anyone walking in my backyard, I'd be asking questions first, shooting later. Even with my family around
Kajo123456 1 month ago
right, so don't call the cops, just grab a gun, shoot everyone you see and then just inform the DA to come to collect the bodies...
I am not against people owning guns in general, but this video is stupid.
Kajo123456 4 months ago
@Kajo123456
It'll take the cops at least several minutes to arrive. Your own safety is in your own hands. You CANNOT abdicate that responsibility. Grow up and act like an adult, rather than acting like a child and expecting the Big Brother Government to protect you at every turn. The bottom line is, they are NOT obligated to protect you at all, and that's just factual legal precedent.
phalanxbl 4 months ago

@ranchai100: There may be quite a few problems with the United States, but no one ever questions the right to defend yourself in your own home.

Nothing to do with this video but i just had to put it out their, lol.
aodgabelogan 5 months ago
@aodgabelogan 911 was picked as the emergency number when 411 was picked as the nationwide information number, before it was 411 it was 1-555-1212, and if you wanted the cops you dialed 0 for the operator first, then they connected you to the cops, but it was changed because it took too long.
NinjaRider777R 5 months ago

Preach it from the mountaintops young lady!!:)
