One part I can hear a fair bit of Bhupali in it...I dont think its quiet there..from Raag bhav point of view, but Sitar playing is definitely great. I am open to correction though.
you can hear Sa-Ni-Re-Sa, with ni-re rendered rapidly. That is one of the hallmarks of Shudd Kalyan. In the Aroh only Bhupali is heard, but in the abroh, you can then hear Pa-Ma-Ga, with madhyam's roop in tivra. (which means that madhyam is sharp here, not shudd ma.)
Beautifully rendered, this is one of my favorite raags.
Bloody Marvelous(to quote from Lawrence of Arabia): Effortless Shujaat produces wonderful music. May he be blessed to keep his listeners enjoy his talent.
Audio and video are not synchronized. As I am Iranian, Shojaat Khan became known to me first by his performance with Kayhan Kalhor and the Ghazal project. I realy like his music. His thechnich is astonishing. Is that true that he and Ravi Shankar are from two different musical schools? I personally prefer him to Ravi.
In fact 1p112, Pt. Ravi Shankar is from a school named Maihar Gharana, and Ud. Shujaat Khan is from the Etawah Gharana, one of the eldest and most innovative school of Sitar and Surbahar in India.
Shudh Kalyan has the same aaroh as Bhopali but the avroh is Yaman. Khansahib uses the nishadh and teevra madhyam in a number of places... that clearly separates it from Bhopali.

Pity that sound and picture don't match

yes, and shudh kalyan implies two meends, one from N-D and one more, saying P-(M)-G. That is the difference on Bhopali and Shudh Kalyan
