omg there the TOP 2 IN THE WORLD!! there both amazing players, being in the top 50 is extremely hard! most of you cant even hit more than 3 shots over the net!!!
federer is a legend. i hope and im sure he will find his top form again soon. there has never been a sportsman in history that has not went through a sticky patch sometime in their careers.
never call roger anything?????? wht is all this from u rafa fans-roger federer sucks and all that?just coz he's a bit off-form...so much we've had to hear about roger..im not calling nadal anything coz i respect him just as much as i repect roger...but the truth is most of the rafa fans just want to hate roger and never leave a chance to pick at him.
I think Roger is a class act and Tennis has been blessed to have him. I think he has held the title for so long he must be tired. We will see now that Nadal has it (and I like him also) if he can hold it as long as Roger has. I still feel that Rogers game is head and shoulders above the rest and this is only a slight bump which he will get over and come back fighting fit. He was will end of last year Glandular fever - it can take years to get over. So look out for him now. Good luck Roger
He's definitely putting on a brave face, we know now that he won't be the one to stop Rafa at Cincinnati. Maybe someone else will, or maybe not because i'd like to see Rafa get that #1 ranking this week.
i read an interesting artical today that the problem roger has is probably his racket..use a slightly bigger frame could help it says what do u think?
dangerouspaul: Sounds to me like that is not the full story. It may also be a bit mental (mental edge not as sharp after a few bad defeats) and some of it may be he is not physically as strong...it can't just be his racket. I wish Roger luck here and hope he overcomes these things!
he is putting a brave face on, but these last few defeats in big tournamnets have hit hi belief and confidence seriously..and according to history players start to lose their form and ability as they get to 27 years old ..basically ti wont get better ..it will get worse . I HOPE NOT , please god make ROGER come back to his BEST
who told you tht? didnt sampras and agassi play a huge time? it was a long time ago tht players retired at 27 coz tht time even the masters series were 5 setters and those wooden racquets were enough to get u out.
oh come on, i love fed, but Sampras and aggasi had the whokle tennis to thelmselves there was no nadal in them days , the level of strong players now is a lot, you have to adjust to so many differnt types of 'hard' players now. Roger would keep on winning if he was in that era..he may have added 20 wimbledon titles to his name . these days its diffrent ..the level is much higher and you cant keep performing like you did when you was 19-25 ..
I dont think so...depends on the kind of decisions u make..sampras used to literally hibernate during the clay season then come back and reclaim his top spot..federer on the other hand wants to win the french..but he still can put away a few tournaments.
Only way Roger will conquer Nadakl is if he starts learning how to play double handed on certain shots, thats the only way you will get a shot past him without having it keeping coming back at you. Nadal has lost against guys who have double handed shots, they are flat and skims of the ground
Sad to see him lose out in Toronto. But good luck with the US Open. He has the game, but he needs to fine tune his mental strength and confidence and he will win for sure. You don't dominate a sport for 5 years and just stop out of nowhere unless you have an injury.
Looking at Roger's earlier pictures, I notices that he has lost weight. Then I found out that his weight is 176 lb currently, but was 194 lb. I guess he would get more fitness if he could put on some weight.
It may have been because of his Glandular Fever at the beginning of the year: it can cause a lot of weight loss, and maybe he has been struggling to regain his weight/muscle
O_O I never noticed that! But still, i believe you...
Interesting, because i spend much time staring at Roger - and i don't even see such a change? He looked healthy to me, if we ignore that damn recent mono, of course.
So i'm guessing he needs to eat more of his favourite Swiss chocholates ^^ Bon appetit, Honey. :)
You know thats a great point, i have been thinking whats wrong with him..and why isthere soemthign not right about him latekly ..and that is a factor. I have always wanted him to hit the weights, Nadal is pumping iron regualrly .Fed needs to do the same
his fitness is not the problem and never has been...when was he ever 194? Im not saying your wrong, but ive only ever seen him to be round the 175 mark and i have been watching him play ever since 2002...i think he has become leaner, but fitter because of it...Nadal has just got the mental edge at the moment
thanks for exist roger ur the best world player ever!! i think if nadal gets the Nº1 it will be thanks of what rafa`s have been building since 2005 rising and rising and for me if nadal gets the nª1 he deserves it but there`s no doubt that roger federer is the best tennis player of the history
Roger, so glad to have you back here in Cincinnati. You are a class act in tennis and an amazing talent and we are lucky to see you up close. You are a good model (behavior, attitude) for any sport, not just tennis! Good luck!
hard court...... if roger can serve REALLLLI goood like some of the wimbledon matches before, he'll do welll in this tournment.......hopefulllyy haahah

Ay yai yai. Roger lost out in third round :-(
He fought hard but he lost. Nadal will be number one soon. He really should have tried harder at Toronto.

think about the disease he had. or still has. the loss of weight shows it.
this disease could have end his career.
but still. nadal is a great opponnent. and still prefer him bein nr. than djoko. i think roger is much ahead of him.

What? What disease are you talking about?
fudhi77 3 years ago
the stuff he had before and after the AO.
he collected it in dubai appernetly. but anyway im not looking for an excuse.
