  • I remember seeing this in a theatre when I was a boy. All the episodes were put together to make one long movie; however, they forgot to edit out one part where it was announced that the film would be continued. The audience boo'd for a few moments until the next episode popped up; then the audience cheered (not realizing as I did that the movie was an old serial strung together as a single movie).

  • Hey, the narrator sounds like the one in the '60s TV show!

  • Wasn't Robin played by a 30 year old midget back then?

  • He had a Lincoln and a mansion in the 1943 series. did he make some bad investments ?

  • this is so epic xD

  • I love how none of Bruce Wayne's neighbors ever notice the Batmobile screaming out of his garage at 1 AM.

  • @DavidtheBlack There was no 'batmobile' as such, looks like your ordinary 1940's family saloon!

  • @DavidtheBlack Perhaps because they saw him as rich playboy going to a party!!!

  • Apparently everything is low budget in this "serial" from the car to the "mansion" LOL! and the costumes make the 1966 Batman TV show look like state of the art designs LOL!

  • i had Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters 2 on the same video many years ago, and this was inbetween the films. did anyone else have this?

  • pmsl the mansion is a house but its just a normal house lol

  • I happen to enjoy Mr.Kirk Alyn's screen interpretations of"Superman & Clark Kent".

  • They're driving around in a family car LOL XD

  • christopher nolan should do a batman tv series after the dark knight rises

  • Batman drives a Buick?

  • this is my favorite one

  • this was the first batman i saw back in the late 50

  • Robin's mask looks like he got it at Big Lots in the Halloween discount aisle.

  • this is a cult movie

  • There was a 1943 serial as well. It's on sale again online. Just got copies of this one and the 43 a few eeeks ago with Captain marvel. Good stuff on such crap budgets. Enjoy.

  • Like the previous year's "Superman" serial, "Jungle Sam" Katzman {known for his Columbia "Jungle Jim" series starring Johnny Weismuller} produced this one for Columbia...and it was just as "cheap". But his serials and "B-movies" for the studio never lost money.

  • i have this batman -n-robin dvd from the year of 1949.

  • Holy Moley! First time old Batman & Robin movie...

  • Well, it's better than Christopher Nolan's movies.

  • @flapdoodle64

    Agreed.

  • Well, it's better than Christopher Nolan's movies.

  • Well, this is still better than those sadistic Christopher Nolan movies.

  • or Kirk Alyn, either him or George Reeves, would have been great if they both made cameos.

  • If somebody want to have all episodes, check the info ;)

  • would have been nice if George Reeves made a cameo in one of these shorts

  • I had heard of the b & w Batman movie series but never seen any clips of it.

What a nice trip to the past !!! Wow.

  • many thanks for the mail alpino. not sure how to reply direct, technology and me don't mix too well, thanks again.

  • I used to absolutely love this at the children;s matinees circa mid 50's. Wish I could obtain the whole serial

  • That is a pretty good Batcave, I love seeing that bat fly around in the background

  • Johnny just turned 86 last month and he rocks big time

  • @holzapfelstein Damn that wartime inflation. Property values just ain't what it used to be.

  • @holzapfelstein That's Wayne Manor, you dolt!
