This game was epic for many years in my life. I got disgusting at the game to the point where id put up scores like 88-0 , the point of playing the computer became lost. Anyway, out of all things with the game that i remember, i recall 1# the hits you could put on people were on par with car accidents, and #2 Kordell Stewart (played on Colorado in college) was so overly fast in this game that you could run around the O and D line as soon as you snapped the ball. Long live BWCF
I still have this game. I think I got it for Christmas about 15 years ago and played the hell out of it until I got my Playstation, but I still played it a bit until my PS2. This does bring back good memories of playing always as Michigan and running Tyrone Wheatley for 200-plus yards a game. I could never really throw the ball too well on these games back then, always threw behind the receivers somehow, no matter when I pressed the button. I still can't, actually. lol
Such a classic. These games are so pure. This is before EA developed Cheat AI and "Beast Mode" as the only ways to challenge human gamers. Takes me back. I might just have to go buy a Genesis to play this one more time.
Seeing this made me wanna burst into tears. lol Nah not really...but this was my first game EVER...and I played it 'til it jumped out of my Sega and screamed, "ENOUGH!!!!!"
i was never great at this game...guys in college that were could still never beat me when they played me...I only ran 2 plays with michigan...loved this game!!
@bentiale both games were great for the time, i had them both, its been so long since i played them that i couldnt really give you a reason why one wasbetter than the other, what was it that you think was better?
thanks and take care, thanks for mentioning the "joe" montana for sega
One of the best themes ever...I'd cue up that first 10 seconds like 3-4 times before going to the main menu lol. Great game...and loved that they made the improvements from the original...something EA couldn't always be accused of during the Genesis/SNES era
I was always Colorado. I figured out how to force a fumble on pretty much every kickoff return.

The players sound like 13 year old kids. Good music, utterly pathetic sound effects.

never understood why north carolina was in this game, they sucked then like they do now!
mlang28 8 months ago
@mlang28 They should've put in Georgia Tech or Oklahoma State or somebody instead
psuzeppelin5 8 months ago
@mlang28 Licenses...it was a matter of costs and EA's ability to secure licensing.

In my opinion this was the best football game on the sega genesis, it probably was the best football game of that era.

@ROMEYYOUROCK There's a good chance they would have but it'd be cool if Penn State at least had a shot at the upset
psuzeppelin5 1 year ago
@psuzeppelin5 I absolutely agree. I wish the Big 10 didn't have their contract with the Rose Bowl.
