  • Petty tyrants are still trying to control others. It's about freedom of choice. Marijuana is here to stay - get used to it.

  • I think marijuana should be made legal for only certain groups of people. For example, it should be kept illegal for black people. This is because when they smoke it they get urges to rape white women and are more inclined to commit violence. I am not saying this because I am racist or blaming them. It all comes down to genetics.

  • I mean look at it this way, back in the 30's and 40's anti-marijuana propaganda had Americans believing that cannabis allowed black men to prey on white women. Now, virtually everyone would probably see that claim as being absolutely ridiculous. Perspectives change; legalization will probably happen in a few years or at most decades as our collective ideas and values keep progressing.

  • I think legalization will be a reality one day in America. I think people are being more and more exposed to pot culture (albeit very gently) and thus are also being given different perspectives as opposed to only what the government wants us to believe. I think people are now just understanding that marijuana isn't crack cocaine, but they probably don't realize that it's a useful medication or industrial product.

  • This country is so fucked up....they treat marijuana like it's Plutonium.

  • @lancetop shit.. more like its kryptonite and everyone in the fuckin USA is superman apparently..

  • Cannabinoids, like THC, mimic the primary antioxidants and neuroprotectants produced by the human body, called endocannabinoids, which our bodies make primarily from omega-3 fat. Endocannabinoids regulate homeostasis for every organ system in the entire body through a system of cells receptors discovered in the early 1990's called the Endocannabinoid System.

  • attorney general Sutherland is a hypocritical, bible thumping asshole, go smoke your cigarette's, drink your scotch and gobble down prozac and viagra you dick !!

  • weed needs a face of a good model POLITCAN b4 anythings ever guna happen.

the people need to ban together an have someone that can legally make movents for the people

  • perhaps a lot of them do just wanna smoke pot, so what, they have the right to do that, and until you give them that right legally, then the medical system will be abused, so legalize weed dudes

  • a bit tired of hearing this " ppl are abusing the health system to get high" and it doesnt feel like a 5 sec ago they were talking about the many danger's of smoking weed, shut up weed'dnt'even started to solve anything yet

Real patients are the priority I dont want to see a friend on a morphine prescription ever again! But you can't deny the fact that some people would rather use the leak to get their weed because they are scared of the streets,I dont even live in the states, I see progress

  • @LSDSaviorSelf It is the government thats abusing us in the US. Weed should be completely legal. Government is pushing for medical marijuana instead of legalization so they can make tons of money off of healthcare. I am going to get medical weed to get high when its legal. I am not sick or in pain but if a prescription keeps me off a cops radar then im getting it. I love to smoke weed because it makes me happy. I am not hurting anyone. There is no logical reason weed should be illegal.

  • moms bangin

  • The guy is so doped he cant even speak. Hard to take it seriusly.

  • slap that bitch...leagal "drug dealers" aint that a pharmacy dummy!? FREE THE WEED! your paying for it BOTH ways now!

  • Go Hemp Go

  • i have been fightin marijuana prohibition since 2001!....by smoking pot illegally

  • @aSuperbadassninja yeah that isnt fighting shit. You have to actively go out there and rag on the bullshit politicians to do something about it.

  • Is this a normal physiologic process? Does this happen normally in nature or does it need human interference? If this abnormality does occur in nature is this a beneficial adaptive process that allows it to be a fitter organism... i.e PRODUCING MORE OFFSPRING?

Its not hard to grasp what you are saying, but I am saying that if it happens it was either done by humans or is an abnormality... Its a exception to the rule.

  • I just stated how it happens.

And the point i was trying to make, that went over your head, is that animals eat fruits, pollinate flowers to obtain nutrition not to get high. Hence, when referring to catnip, an exception to the rule. And you are talking about agricultural manipulation of s fruit to obtain a desired phenotype. If this was to happen in nature it would be an abnormality, since it is infertile. Again, an exception of the rule.

Do you really want to continue with this?

  • These seeds are produced by crossing diploid and tetraploid lines of watermelon, with the resulting seeds producing sterile triploid plants. Fruit development is triggered by pollination and these plants must be grown alongside a diploid strain to provide pollen.

Again, with the exceptions to the rule.

  • Yes, like I said... I understand plant physiology. We are in agreement in your statement above. Except that the ovary has to develop into a fruit after fertilization of the seed. I made the mistake of saying fertilization of the embryo, which was a foolish mistake.

I agree that cannabis is not spread by animals and I agree that fruit is spread by animals and that flowering plants are spread by wind, insects and birds.

My medical botany class and plant physiology classes were 8 years ago.

  • I wish people against this or that would smoke poison ivy. why because you would D I E hey its perfectly legal to do so. but remember suicide is also illegal. gotta love the retard nature of certain laws, by your girl expensive shit get laid legal, pay a hooker for sex illegal

  • You have a good point here and I was wrong about animals eating the plant or the seeds. THC is contained in the stems and seeds but in insignificant amounts. But I am not wrong about them eating the achene.

  • State your source... I would like to know how the ovary or fruit gets fertilized with pollen once it has developed its protective outer covering and inside is the seeds...

The seed is an embryo and by definition the embryo is fertilized. How does that happen?

  • Its not a hunch its fact.

"All known strains of Cannabis are wind-pollinated and produce "seeds" that are technically called achenes."

Clarke, Robert C. 1991. Marijuana Botany, 2nd ed. Ron Publishing, California. ISBN 0-914171-78-X

Small, E. 1975. Morphological variation of achenes of Cannabis. Canadian Journal of Botany 53(10): 978-987.

  • And I understand basic plant physiology... But a flower must be pollinated before it can grow into a "fruit" so if it is ate before fertilization it can't become a fruit. Again, the ad hominem is appropriate... I was literally shocked at what was said.

  • Except that cannabis has no fruit and does not have an endemic animal that eats the seeds or the stems where the THC is contained... Consequently, this would be against natural selection... since, that would defeat the purpose of its spread because the plant or the seed would be destroyed.

Giving one situation in which is an exception to the rule is not proof that I am wrong. And it does not "proof" that there is a possibility that this is what works in the wild for cannabis.

  • WOW THIS IS A IGNORANT COMMENT WOW!

  • You mean the species name. And I don't see how you can make the premise and the inference that "fruits" are the same as flowers. Flowers have pollen and are either spread by wind or insects and birds. They are not eaten and spread. Fruits allow for this because of their seeds. I doubt that psychotropic chemicals were naturally selected in order to spread their seeds. What endemic animal would eat a plant that distorts reality, perception, etc and have the capacity to come back again?

  • a whole new drug economy? HAHA this dude got his nerve...speak on the fuckin wall street bullshit they still got goin on with those bets that stocks will tank. Talk about those damn derivitives

  • 2 full ounces of kudos and a half ounce of way to freekin go

  • Percent that it occurs in users.

  • Sativex® is a drug. THC is a chemical juts like benzoylmethylecgonine that is obtained from the ALL NATURAL cocal plant or opioid from the poppy plant. I hate this, "since its from a plant it can't be dangerous." The plant MAKES these chemical to get YOU TO STAY AWAY from it. One thing botany taught me was that the only different between an herb, drug and toxin is dosage.

  • John Suthers /needs 4chan no? push

  • Its from uptodate. And its a pay site. There are as least 80 references in there. I can site a few, but you going to have to direct where you wanna start. It the side effects of Sativex®. the drug you mentioned. My only point is that every drug is dangerous and has side effects. Recreational use like what this kid does is not something I condone, but it is his choice since in even toxic doses, it does not lead to death in users.

  • Class as in Medical School...

  • The saddest thing, I think, is that most, if not all, of the people who rant against marijuana, esp. in the gov't, probably have never taken a hit in their life!!! Maybe they should just try it and see how "harmful" it really is.

  • Cannabis is 100% NON-TOXIC.

There is not ONE known case of cannabis overdose. NOT ONE.

People who oppose the chronic do so for various "churchy" scruples or similar discomfort with euphoria.

In a free society, they're free to feel/think that way, however non-conducive to their happiness such an attitude may be.

BUT they need to keep their sweaty hands off of others who know better.

    This is a freedom issue.

  • I agree.

  • John Suthers -

    (R)epublican.

    BIG surprise.../sarcasm

  • Fuck John Suthers.

  • Come on! the kid used paying taxes as a way to legitimize his business?

What about no one robbing you for your own production?

Weed will be legalized when it can be profitable to the State, and to be honest, this is very hard because "illegal growing" will have better prices(and more costumers) than taxed legal weed.

I still doubt the State will embark in this evident failure to profit optimally.

  • why can't the medicinal benefits be put in a pill? - i bet lots of stoners who want "medical marijuana" would suddenly get better if they had to take a pill and not smoke up

and they wouldn't end up with any lung trouble from all the smoke

  • i have said it a thousand times and i will keep saying it till the day i die the government should have no say in what i put on in or take out of my own body

  • But for a kid in their twenties that habitually smokes pot it makes you into a stereotypical Bill and Ted. And I can spot the THC haze a mile away. I despise the culture in Americans that smoke weed and maybe if they weren't so hell bent on making pot part of EVERY facet of their waking life I could get behind them.

I still want it legalized. But I am going to be pointing fun at dipshits who abuse it. Just like alcohol, smoking, crack, ect... There is no snake oil drug. Pot is not an exception.

  • No, it doesn't make me feel more intelligent. I am stating fact. I have seen the PET and CAT scans in class of chronic pot users. It decreases brain activity, decreases ambition and drive, decreases short term memory and increases estrogen levels in men. But it does decrease pain, anxiety and increases appetite in cancer patients and They don't care about the above side effects because they are dying.

  • Hell, the american sheep think bin laden blew up some buildings, why do you think they would want to legalize weed? They are fed FEAR,FEAR,FEAR... all day long, they are so paraniod now that a cat farts and they jump. Sheep afraid fo their own shadows

  • But autoerotic asphyxiation is the cheapest thrill of all!

  • lol well said

  • It isn't a bunch a people walking around stoned that they are afraid of, it is major pharmeceutical companies losing money to a natural, sustainable product that they are afraid of. It is a legitimate fear when people are having all sorts of medical complications from the very medications that are supposed to be making them better, when the only real side effects to medical marijuana is an overwhelming urge to raid the fridge, and a temptation to giggle constantly.

  • Your exactly right infact their looking to make all Natural remedies off the shelf and makeing them illegal

  • its easier to get weed as a teen then alcohol.

  • Why do they call this drug dealing? They do not call it pill dealing.

  • i would do diane irwin

  • He can barely get a sentence out. Awesome...

  • @Orionx30 get off that horse of yours bro, he spoke just fine.

  • cognitive impairment...

  • Rocky Mountain high!

  • Prohibition is for fucktards. No Prohibition!!! Legalize it!

  • Produce swine-flu-pot ,kick them in the nuts!

  • what a lovely family btw!

  • the war on drugs is a joke. we need to legalize, and tax marijuana - it is the least dangerous of all drugs.

not only the neo-cons/right wing are against marijuana BUT also pharmaceutical companies!

the pharma companies have patent issues, and also push more dangerous chemicals.

i personally get at least 15 emails a day, trying to illegally sell me, vicodin, percocets, viagras and where is the DEA withc hunt on them?

dea is in cahoots with pharma, as well as fda!

  • People are still going to buy it off the black market to avoid the tax.

  • @Orionx30 rightfully so

  • aww he loves his mom.

  • Where did legislators ever get the idea that they were entitled to prohibit people from consuming ANYTHING they choose? It flies right in the face of the Declaration of Independence declaring that every citizen is entitled to liberty and the pursuit of happiness. How did the citizenry ever allow legislators to get away with this in the first place?

  • Christianity greed and power(control)

  • I believe you're correct. The Temperance Movement of the late 19th and early 20th centuries that was successful in their push for Prohibition was, at their core, a Christian movement. I believe that opium was the first drug to be banned, followed by heroin, each during the time of the Temperance Movement's huge influence on the government. So, if such a huge citizens group was responsible for drug prohibition it may take an equally large citizens group to have drugs laws repealed.

  • so this old guy is pro drug dealer pro cartel. if that old guy summers would have a brain he would see that. but the potheads are smart which is funny they try to sale use that they are dumb lol WAKE UPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP

  • Prohibition just creates criminals, slum lords, and unsafe purchase conditions. If you're going to buy it, you're going to buy it, why not buy it with taxes in a safe environment and under some sort of supervision? The conservative freaks just want us all to follow their retarded ideology... guess what, marijuana isn't bad for you!

  • @Craigipedia yeah right. marijuana kills millions daily!

  • CNN,

Why did you have to call it "pot", and "legalized drug dealing"? Maybe that's a little biased? Just saying.

  • I am with you, unless they start using the same language for tobacco and alcohol.

  • dude...your going to be on the news...wash your fuckin head.

  • Prohibition never worked.
