  • Where can I buy one? How much does it cost?

  • @spacemangoes : You can't buy it because is a prototype and I don't know is Vectrix is still alive!

  • @Misterhelmet they're alive and doing well

  • @spacemangoes Euro 55000 or 46636 GB Pound and they will manufacture as soon as first 500 reservations wud complete

  • @spacemangoes google is your friend

  • how much is this

  • bla blaa blaa blaaa,

awsome looking bike, hope they get to produce it

  • fantastica! stupenda!

  • Wow!

  • Too bad they priced themselves out of business.. As of 7/15/09 filed chapter 11.. Google it..

  • D: oh well, I wouldn't have been able to buy anyways.

  • that bike is something else. love the concept. very beautiful.

  • Looks lovely. What a concept!!

Totaly redefining style. But i guess its due to the lack of combustion engine n' all.

Not seen it in action yet, Would love to know what this "full torque from zero" stuff they are saying its capable of.

  • Keep an eye on the design team, ROBRADY design. Check out their YouTube channel for a Mercedes they designed for MBUSA.

  • no matter how cool, or how powerful it is. Range will always be limited on electric vehicles. Hydrogen is the way to go. Hydrogen is as explosive as gasoline, and there are several ways to prevent an explosion.

  • lol actually the activation is lower for the oxidation of H2 gas compared to Gasoline. That flash of flame during the Hindenburg explosion? That was the cellulose acetate and cellulose nitrate on the exterior of the Blimp :P Not the Hydrogen.

But your initial point is good. Hydrogen's the way to go. Highest energy density :)

  • hydrogen burns faster but produces less power than gasoline. Moreover, it also burns and anything that burns will produce CO2. So in reality, hydrogen also produces CO2 but in a lesser degree than gasoline. But that'll be great for space travel where CO2 emission is not much of a concern.

  • where do you get the carbon? Hydrogen is not carbon based like gasoline/petrol. What you gear from burning hydrogen is water (steam) (h2+o = h2o + thermal energy) that and you don't have to burn the hydrogen you can use a fuel cell and produce electricity. That was my point on my first comment.

  • Mmm....mister helmet, do you know the spesification of this Bike?

  • Sweet..but £38000!

Look at the size of that front brake disc! As big as the wheel :D:S:)!

  • Expensive or not there is no way to buy it, unless other 499 people make the order.

They promised to produced it only with 500 orders. Honestly I think that this is a way to say that this bike is only a style excercise or somethink to obtain attention...

  • @Misterhelmet Vetrix claims top speed will be 200km/h and a standing quarter mile within 12 seconds. The batteries will hold enough charge for 20 flat-out laps of the Vallelunga circuit in Italy "in eerie silence". Gives a new meaning to ride the lightening!

  • Bad choice of music for the unveiling of a super bike imo.

  • the sound of silence is the perfect music for a bike intended to produce no sound, imho.

  • @bobnine seriously dude...its like they hv forced a hunk to put on a boobtube with lipstick !!! they r ass holes !!!

  • Ive actually read about a hybred bike (concept), that has a 180mpg fuel usage, (of course becasue of help from its electical engine)! But cant remember the name of it, however, if you type hybred motorbike in google, its the only one that comes up!

Problem is, its not even a production bike, as the company that made it dont intend to sell it to the public; they intend another company to come along and do all that for them, which might work, but these things tend to drag and drag as years go!

  • i can't believe that shit is not real i hate how this companies play with us that will be a real revolution.

  • It is real. It is a prototype...an experiment.

  • a prototype? do you know how many prototypes never go to the market? let me tell a lot. that never will ride on the streets

i all ready did my homework sorry to tell that.

  • you just care to what you say and write to pay some attention to who other people are and what they write. I do not have any interest about Vectrix. I am just a journalist. If vectrix say this is a prototype, ok...for me it's ok. I just report.

I do not love or hate Vectrix...just reporting.

  • I totally agree with karaokewithgman and misterhelmet, thats all to be said. Finally a technology useful for both mankind and our planet.. as a biker, i loved the design as well as the idea of using a bike for almost free!

  • The range is 200 kilometers anewlow23

  • It obviously depends on the speed but,Vectrix says, there is enough energ to complete 20 rounds in Vallelunga race circuit, that is much less than 200 kilometers.

  • The Suprbike is just a model of something that does not exist, at all. The idea for Vectrix was to see if the public liked the way the bike looked, and then they were going to try to manufacture it and sell it as a limited edition for $60,000. Again, this bike does not exist, it's just a model. The Superbike won't be built, and is another example how Vectrix loves to sell the HYPE, not the real thing!

Advice: stay away from Vectrix, they are selling the hype.

  • the bike exists and also if it is not going to be produced it remains as many prototypes remain. prototype means "the f type" of something. Who cares if it's going to be poduced or not. About the rest, Vectrix exixts, electric scooter exists, i tested and it worked and works fine. maybe they do'nt sell many bu the electric scooter exists, you malike it or not.I do not work for Vecrix but as a journlist ...follows...

  • ...follows...

I must say that electric vehicles, among the difficulties of politicians and against the close mind of blind people will increase their number in the future. Many yers ago many idiot said tha diesel power would have never beaten benzine engine. And they were completely wrong. be patient and elecric will have its place in the panorama of performing engines.

  • I agree almost completely but concerning diesel you have to say that it was bought because of low price for fuel (in germany). Many people say that the diesel engine has more torque. I think it has more torque because it is commonly turbocharged. Unfortuantely I don't know a gasoline car that follows the same idea: Engine, normally having 50hp -> then charged to 100 or whatever. That could be pretty economic, too. But it is obvious that future belongs to electric vehicles. Can't wait for them :)

  • You are just some idiot who wants to keep us common people from enjoying life from the clutches of capital pigs of oil. If we can go to the moon then we can build a bike that requires only simple recharge. Our leaders want to tax us to death, just to drive cars. Its time for change....Sorry you lack insight and the ingenuity of mankind.

  • electric, huh? Is it very fast?

  • well 200 kmh and over...

  • Good enough for a pure electric, though I may want a gas one also ;)

  • Yes but full tank costs less than 1 dollar of energy...

and this bike has been created to show the potential of elecric engine and power. in 5 yrs things will change totally on my opinion.

  • I wonder what the range and price is?

  • Vectrix talks about a limited edition of 500 pieces at 55.000 euros.

the range is 20 track rounds in vallelunga, they asserts.

  • WOW 55,000 euros thats crazy I could buy 3 electric car kits for that and a range of only 15 kilometres I definitley will not be buying.

  • of course the intention of the company is to show its potential and the bike is a prototype.
