this is actually a nice little machine, but get one with Linux. XP on something this low powered is really unnecessary. as far as games go get one with a 160GB hard drive, much more space and it runs any emulator you can find.

There's an evil version of the EEE PC 900 that comes with a 16GB SSD drive that's about the slowest drive known to man. Took a bit for me to get it working well, had to install everything to an SD card xD But I got it for free from a friend. =]

Have you tried Yahoo messenger, or Windows Live Messenger? They should detect your camera and you should be albe to use it through IM. Hope this helps

all efficient (35w &less) intel mobile and atom chips (10w and less) should be aimed at multimedia compact desktops and net/laptops.

another option would be to discontinue all cpus over 35watts, then gpus could be sold in a separate mini steel case that you hook up to your compact desktop or laptop through a pcie to pcie adapter for power only when u need it

Ermm if i was you i would avoid this, and get the Acer Aspire One. I would get the 120GB Hard drive version with Windows XP on it. Seriously it was the best investment i made back at the start of january. It cost me £199, and it will be cheaper now. It also seems to run anything i throw at it, hell it plays GTA San Andreas, and runs word 2007 and other programs at the same time. Plus it has a very decent quality Acer CrystalEye Webcam, so yeah go for the Acer.

You know why its so cheap? because it takes alot of effort to acces the ram, you even have to get BEHIND the motherboard! You should check it out. And btw, i don't like acer, of all acer i've had (2 lol) they've always been a pain in the ass, my second one, won't start up sometimes, and when it is started up, it shuts down after less than 30 min.

when you download off the internet there should be a dialog box that comes up allowing you to choose where you save files. i usually save to the desktop for ease of use. just click on the "browse" button, and navigate to wherever you want to save to.

The memory card reader ONLY read SD cards! The one I bought in australia came with a 30G SSHD, DDR2 uses less power. When you plug in an external monitor, you can mirror OR have 2 screens!

This is the first review I've seen that doesn't bitch about the screen brightness!

I find I have to turn my brightness down in low light.

As for video, it plays DVD's REALLY well. With my MSI DVB TV tuner the picture and sound are great!

I play Unreal, starcraft, quake2, Heretic2 no problem.
