  • I want a grey hooded sweatshirt with 1:46 on it, minus the station logo and show emblem. Feelin' that!

  • @mate6 rnb? dont you mean pop?

  • LOL GRAY RACE WAS A VERY BAD TIME IN THE BANDS HISTORY BUT I CAN RESPECT GRAFFINS PERSERVERENCE AND 3 SONGS ON THAT ALBUM MAKE IT WORTHWHILE 1) THEM AND US 2) COME JOIN US 3) CEASE

  • Gurewitz is a great songwriter and belons to BR. But ! Grey Race is a great album and so is No Substance. Okay, lets say New America was their weekest period, but still they wrote songs like Hopeless Houswife which is a brilliant one.

About Epitaph: I dont care about their money. They made some punk groups known for the whole world and thats great!

About Offspring: I would be happy to see them on the top now instead of another rnb stuff.

  • Haha, Greg at 1:27 haha, so good.

  • I've said it before and I'll say it again: Brian Baker slightly looks like the Radiohead singer in his earlier BR days. Especially with bleached hair

  • why is it so slow live?

  • I've never seen so many ignorant BR fans on one comment page in my life.

  • espectaculaaaaaaaaaaaar!

  • "Mr." Brett was NOT Bad Religion. He was detrimental to the band at best.

  • @Dr34dmoc are you kidding me? Detrimental? Do you know how many BR songs he's written? Most of which are equally fascinating. Greg and Brett feed off of each others ability. They hit hard with POB when Brett came back. I bet you also think Brooks Wackerman is detrimental to BR. -_-

  • @ash0ppingcart I've been listening to BR since before you were born kid. Old school punks no the difference. Shut up, listen and learn. He wrote about half. Gregg wrote the other half. Every once in a while another member of the band came forth with something of value, but rarely. Greg had a message. Brett wrote songs about girls and abstract poetry. Compare 'Them and Us' to 'Anesthesia' or 'Come Join Us' to 'Skyscraper'. Don't comment on 'Skyscraper' until you've read the bible.

  • @Dr34dmoc Don't get me wrong, I do prefer Greg's writing, hell I've been looking up to the guy since I can remember. But the life Brett brought back to BR for Process of Belief was noticeable. Greg began writing great songs again, I love his academic feel. Brett wrote I Want to Conquer the World, Delirium of Disorder, Do What You Want, You, Billy, which are great songs. He has a large impact on BR. Oh and just because you know Skyscraper was from Genesis 11:1-9 doesn't make you mr. smarty pants.

  • fuck what brett gurewitz says the gray race is therir best album

  • @nick1137 Brett is just mad because the album was popular even without him. I like Brett and I like his songs, but he was not capable of putting the true punk message into words. Greg could say exactly what needed to be said at the time it needed to be said. Punk is an attitude and Brett just didn't have it.

  • @nick1137 What did he say exactly?!

  • @nick1137 You've obviously never listened to No Control

  • @0333808 The Gray Race is the best.

  • I like this song.

  • Bad Religion were at their peak by performance standard here.

  • Watch their performance of the song 10 In 2010 in this concert. Brian is owning in the solo.

  • I love this song! Especially the lyrics in the bridge.

  • I believe that punk is the unattainable attribute, like imortality or invincibility, No one can be born punk. One must change inevitibly to become punk. And then, is he a poser?

  • Correct me if im wrong, i normally am but some contradiction here. You say punk is unattainable but one must change inevitably to become punk, so therefore it must be attainable?

  • I'm saying that the idealized punk can't be seen as having changed to be punk. No one was born being a punk. Therefore, no one can be a "true punk". What's the difference between the guy who "became a punk" 15 years ago and the guy who was a preppy 2 weeks ago and decided to be a punk?

  • the difference is ideal

to be a punk is not to wear leather jackets, and have a mohawk, to be a punk is an opinion about freedom, equality, and many other things

someone that changes into a punk is just another poser, a true punk doesn't act like he acts for society, but exactly the opposite

basically, being punk is an opinion you have, and you won't shun it out, mohawks and plaid pajama pants are just a way to show it

  • Yes, but opinions can change. What if my opinions evolved to coincide with the punk scene. If I were to express my changed beliefs, would I be accepted? How does one know a true believer versus a person who commits lip-service? Also, your comments seem to reference fierce freedom of opinion. However, those who consider their minds open will not all ascribe to punk ideals. I do strongly agree with freedom of expression and speech but don't really consider myself a punk, more a freethinker.

  • Punk is just a convenient label to me. Not an ideal. Now it's less convenient because everybody seems to think they know what it means and they all mean different things.

  • Well, They both got rich off each other really. Aparently, someone from Epitaph took some records from the label down to a radio station. "Come out and play" was played and The Offspring started phoning in to the station several time's saying "This is great, play it again!" Eventually it got put on regular rotation. So it was kind of a coincidence and they both got rich off it.

  • Offspring better than BAD RELIGION?? I'll fuck you're mom :p

  • come on....!! offspring better than bad religion... ????? hahahahaha !!! BD is the best punk rock band on earth....

  • i was trippin, bobby's fills are cool.

  • One of my favorite BR songs. Do they ever play this live anymore?

  • no thats wrong!brain baker had the chance to play a tour with R.E.M but i am happy the he decide to bad religion

  • just gods of punk.... bad religion rules

  • siick song.

i noticed bobby mainly always did his fills only using the snare.

    sounds kinda uncreative.

  • It was

  • My favorite band all their songs are good! There legends to me!

  • I like this song alot, it's up there with their best songs. My faves are like Stranger than fiction and Broken.

  • Brian Baker pwns all

  • Yeah Brian's amazing at guitar. He had a chance to be in Guns N Roses, but stuck with Bad Religion.

  • you're right. Im really getting more into Bad Religion now

  • bad religion is my 2nd fav band. My all time fav is Offspring.

  • WTF!, bad religion are the fathers of offspring

  • ya the offspring wouldn exist without bad religion, both because of influence and the fact that the offspring were started on the label started by brett from br

  • hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

  • duh???

  • What the hell are you on about?

    It's the other way!

Without Gurewitz, Offspring wouldn't be the rich assholes they are today.

    Moron.

  • What the hell are you on about?

    It's the other way!

Without Gurewitz, Offspring wouldn't be the rich assholes they are today.

    Moron.

  • No, Gurewitz became the rich asshole he is nowadays cause smash sales, that fucking son of a bitch

  • He never founded Epitaph to make money, he founded Epitaph because no one wanted to put out Bad Religion records.

Go learn stuff before posting, dumbass.

  • @Helvetetsfasor pretty sure Epitaph was started after Bad Religion had already been a band for a few years and had nothing to do with their ability to get distribution.

  • No, Gurewitz became the rich asshole he is nowadays cause smash sales, that fucking son of a bitch

  • How can you say Gurewitz is a rich asshole when you listen to freaking pop-sounding commercial bands like the Offspring?

    Eat your heart out, Ricardo!!!

  • Cause he says he is a tru punx, and he became rich by the offspring (and rancid), and he sold them to sony. Remember this: All I want is a rejected song by gurewitz

  • offspring sucks noodles ... but thats not gurewitz´s fault ...

  • The Punk Rock ethic is more of a state of mind than anything else. he is the guitarist of one of the most tenacious bands of all time which signify punk rock and have not changed their musical style at all over the years. Smash is a great record, Brett gave it the recognition it deserves, they left epitaph and went downhill immediately, so what does that tell you?

  • They went downhill??? Says who??? They released Ixnay on the hombre, a great punk rock album. Yes Americana is poppy but still is solid such as Conspiracy. They just found an style they like. Just remember that when Offspring leaves, Epitaph began to go down in quality-not sales- and Gurewitz made the infamous All Ages

  • What do you mean by he made the infamous all ages?

  • Yeah dude you're right!

Gurewitz founded Epitaph and the Offspring became famous because of his sense of business.

  • Agreed.

  • Nop, it was the other way. Thanks to offspring gurewitz has epitaph as the "empire" is nowadays

  • Nobody get mad at me for saying this, but I think this isn't one of their greatest songs. Of course, they are still the best band in the world. My personal favorites are Sorrow, Los angeles is burning, Do what you want, and Stranger than fiction. But overall, the grey race is an ok song.

  • but this song really kick ass :)

  • I don't think BR ever played/wrote a song that didn't kick ass!

  • this song kicks ass!!

  • very nice

  • cool
