Other than you, who the hell is talking about Tarja's studio voice? Her live voice in performances is as good or better than her studio voice, and is infinitely better than Anette's BEST studio voice.
Anette's live voice puts her in the karaoke class, or somewhere below that because I've heard MUCH better at a karaoke bar as well as girls singing into their webcam for YouTube.

How many bands have fired any of their members by handing them a letter then making that letter public. It was an extremely cruel thing to do, and from their you can start to read into some of the real motivations behind it all.
They released it as an open letter, because if they wouldnt, everyone qould be just guessing the reasons, and no one would know the real reasons. The media would make up things, that are now even true. And yeah maybe it was a cruel thing, but how many cruel things did Tarja do in the 9 years...

Yes, Tuomas appears to have based his deciision on pure greed. He apparently didn't care what his music sounded like as long as he sold more records in the US, and that's another reason he kicked Tarja and hired Anette to replace.her.

Tarja's live voice is a million times better than Anette's studio voice (which is heavily edited and modified on studio sound equipment and computers). Tarja pours real passion into her singing and has an angelic voice, whereas Anette has a crass voice that not only has pitch problems, but can't hold a note.
Secondly, it doesn't take a rocket scientist or a psychologist to find the lies in the NW open letter, and to realize that they were trying to destroy Tarja with their accustations.

Nobody is doing that. If anything, people are comparing Anette's studio voice to Tarja's live voice, which is infinitely better than Anette's best studio voice anyways. Then again, most NW songs sounded better live than the studio version, probably due to Tarja's impassioned live voice.

You can't compare Anette to Tarja as they are two completely different types of singers. Tuomas & Co chose not to go with another classically trained singer because Tarja did it so well that no one else would be able to do it better - thus getting a vocalist of a completely different genre. I think it works magnificently. Anette is the best thing that's ever happened to Nightwish. Just look at her energy on stage, man! You can tell the band is SO much happier now :D

We would not complain if she was great in live videos Anettes voice seems drowned out by the music which means her vocals either aren't strong enough for performance or better quality video would help, add a video live that shows her voice clearly maybe that is the problem here. A) The band has NOT known her for 20 years. Tuomas, Tarja, and Emppu founded the band in 1996, 12 years ago.
B) Tuomas is more of a diva than Tarja will ever be.

Holy Crap! Towards the 1:30 benchmark, music from "The Passion of the Christ" is used. I have that soundtrack and I'd recognize it ANYWHERE! They made exceptional use for it.

You can't compare Anette to Tarja as they are two completely different types of singers. Tuomas & Co chose not to go with another classically trained singer because Tarja did it so well that no one else would be able to do it better - thus getting a vocalist of a completely different genre. I think it works magnificently. Anette is the best thing that's ever happened to Nightwish. Just look at her energy on stage, man! You can tell the band is SO much happier now :D

We would not complain if she was great in live videos Anettes voice seems drowned out by the music which means her vocals either aren't strong enough for performance or better quality video would help, add a video live that shows her voice clearly maybe that is the problem here. It is this sound that fuels the rage and the impression she has a tiny voice. You can't stay true to a band that have a completely different sound! A voice is an instrument!

I disagree entirely, but just so you know, nightwish released a two cd special edition with an instrumental cd, which really shows off the amazing composition and instrumentation behind it all.

Lol the crowd is as lous as in any concert... Anette just lacks the voice to stand out, even with a mic in her hand... poor girl. And she "rocks" like a pop singer, which she was before joining NightWish, and still is. Let's hope she finds her place in the band... or they replace her soon enough.

But looking at this just makes Nightwish feel more like a band, not a girl and her band.
