@Dbkit Nah he was accused of stealing his ideas but they were based on different evidence and were differing theories so its generally accepted that these two scientists came up with very similar theories at the same time completely coincidentally.

@youxknowxyouxluvxit Darwin thought of it first but sat on the idea for ten years stockpiling research and filling holes in the theory. Every scientist's nightmare came true when Wallace came to him to ask advice and told him his theory, which he'd come to on his own, and it was the same as Darwin's (only lacking in research). This is when Darwin rushed to get his idea out there and he was given most credit because he'd had the idea much longer & had more research. Wallace is still credited.
