yeah i had final cut express 4.0 which had the earthquake effect, but when i updated to 4.0.1 the effect disappeared. now idk how to get it back...

Well I use a video camera to do all of my recordings and then I just import them onto my mac and go from there to do the editing. and thanks :)

@AvedaPeppymint there's a great program called ScreenFlow, you can even edit what you've captured from your screen...

The Apple Store along with my iMac. I'm using version 3.5.1. Any idea where to get free plugins for this effect? I've been Googling all afternoon and the ones that work are rubbish and the ones that are seem good don't work properly.

there's an update to version 4.0.1 i believe... yeah look that up and see if that works. also try the upper left hand corner apple two down and theres a system update thing it might be there. reply back if you make any progress or if you are still having trouble.

Cheers for the advice but I already tried both of those things. The update to V4 costs an extra £65. I guess I'll have to put my hand in my pocket yet again either for the upgrade or a plugin. I use FXHome Effects Pro too for my after effects but there is nowt to help with this particular effect. I suppose I could import into iMovie anduse the effects in there.

thats really weird. i think it just comes with the program. do you have all of the updates? do you have final cut 4? and make sure your in the correct section in the video filters and then to the distort tab too. comment back if you have any luck.

but do you know how to make it so it gradually gets greater. like it starts a little bit of earthquake and then it slowly gets greater
