  • Mark, how do you keep the noise clean from your pedals?

  • which wah is that??

  • @moutsos2 it is a Fulltone Clyde Deluxe.

  • @arbogastband

    yes, a deluxe

  • Great Video!

Where in the chain would you put a BOSS FBM-1 pedal?

  • Great sound man! Could you tell me the settings on the fulldrive? Thanks.

  • Hi im having headaches by getting a great distor and drive of my fender deville, so i bought a pinnacle 2, surprise!! i find your video and noticed i made a great choice, could you share your knob settings of this pedal ??? mine still on shipping, another thing now im looking for a great drive, your mosfet fulltone sounds great but the fulltone ocd also makes me think twice, what do you recommend me? im from mexico, i cant try them in the store, i can only buy these online. THANKS GREAT SOUND

  • I use a Keely Compressor along with the Pinnacle and I think it really helps it a whole lot. As to the settings I try and match the volume with the amp so it dont increase or decrease when you turn the pedal on or off. I try to keep the tone fairly smooth; not too bright or scratch but not bassy either. Gain on about 6 or 7 I think.. Good luck bro!

  • @rubenlimones i have both the fulldrive 2 mosfet and the ocd... and they do different stuff really.... the fulldrive is kinda like a tubescreamer thats been super hotroded... good for smooth midrange overdrive,,,light to medium gain...

the OCD does everything from low gain blues all the way to super saturated distortion...almost like a fuzz sometimes... its very "wet" sounding... really juicy!

  • Why you put the tuner after the wah? Shouldn't the tuner be before the wah or the first pedal before the guitar?

  • @gmlasam

It made no difference because the Wah is True-Bypass. I tried it both ways and it was easier to fit everything on the pedalboard that way.

  • Great demo. I'm not as handy, so I bought a PedalTrain Pro, and use the GigRig Midi-8 to change loops. Wampler makes some great stuff too.( I've got the Extacy and Buffer) Keep rockin'!!!

  • LOVE the finish on the guitar

  • how did you made your pedal board

  • I went to Home Depot, bought some finish-grade nice 3/8s sheet plywood and cut it, glued it together, them painted it with some cheap flat black spray paint. I made it two tiered so I could put the power supplys underneath and have room for pedals. Email me and I will send you the dimentions.

  • How is the DD-20 working out for you i also am looking for a delay pedal and am comparing it to th TC nova Repeater. what do you think?

  • hmm...kinda looks like a ce-24

  • @azzel7 it's a CE22

  • @arbogastband pretty sure the only difference between the CE22 and CE24 is the number of frets....and that one is 24 frets.

but yea, gotta love the fulltone pedals!!! ^_^

  • @azzel7 yeah, I counted 24 frets

  • @azzel7 You may be correct cause it has 24 frets. I always thought they called it a CE22. Shows how smart I am! HA!

  • @azzel7 i think you are right. it has 24 frets.

  • the wampler pedals are the best sounding imo great playing man

  • Finally a demo of some one using pedals with this amp and not just demoing the clean sound and reverb on the deville. Sounds great!

  • what kind of pedal board are you using?

  • @freddmoss I made the pedalboard myself

  • @freddmoss I made the pedalboard myself

  • hot rode deluxe amply?? or deville?

  • both

  • wow i've always wanted a PRS!! i can never get the money though...

  • Then get an Alexander James Custom guitar.

They are custom but even cheaper then PRS.

  • deville?

  • One is a Deville with 4x10's and the other a Deluxe with 1x12.

  • nice licks.

  • How is the DD-20 working for you? i'm doing some investigation in delay pedals ^^ Nice video !

  • look for the eventide time factor. is way better than the boss.

  • Do you have one? Tell us about it. I am always looking for ways to improve things. Thanks man!

  • I'm not sure if you answered to my comment. But anyway I write something to the eventide time factor. It has 40 storable presets, truebypass or buffered bypass (with fx fadeout). Lots of headroom, usable in mono and stereo and has a 12 second looper to. Search an youtube and you'll find lots of demos but they don't show all features of this great pedal.

  • I got a T-Rex Replica and I'm in love (used to have the DD-20 and missed it a lot until I got the RC-2 just last month). Try it - it works for Santana, Gilmour and many others. I completely agree on the Fulltone Clyde Deluxe, I love it (mine is the newer, black one). I have to try the Fulldrive though - sounds great on your clip!

  • I like it a lot. I wish it had more storable pre-sets. Downsides are; Its a tad noisey on the crunch channel. all in all a solid pedal.

  • Hey the Digitech Timender is the same size, but has far more features and allaround better sound. Check out proguitarshop's demo.

  • i really like the behringer vd400 there gr8

  • mxr carbon copy (analor delay) is worth checking out!!!

  • I like it but its a little noisy. Always looking for something better though.

  • hey i have a question please :) i have a all valve 2x12 combo i used when i was in my band and was plenty loud enough! i am thinking of downgrading my amp to a 1x12 valve combo' but i want to know becuase it will only have 1 speaker instead of 2! will i still get enough bass prejection and spread on gig's without miking it up? thanks :)

  • @svenpedde i am to i found that the TC Nova Repeater is less money and has almost more settings. Tell me what you think

  • folk band? wow you cover a wide range of styles with your playing. Great job!

  • nice sounds :)

  • Wow !!!!

Dam good man ,The distortion pedal red box there how you call that how much money for it???

    Thanks 5/5.

  • The amps are Febder HotRod series. There is no Y/A/B box though. The amps are in stereo and are both playing at the same time.

  • what about that gray boss thing (not the dd20) what is that ?

  • The Keeley compressor is gray and so is the Fulltone Fatboost. There are no Boss pedals besides the DD20 on the board.

  • ok

whats the pedal closest to the clyde on the top row?

    (awasome board by the way)

  • what kind of amps are those and is that Y/A/B box verry good as far as by pass goes???

  • Great demo man, you have some great tones goin' on there!

  • What version is you pinaccle? and what modifications does it has compare to the new pinaccle? CAuse i want to have the same you got man with the same modifications. pls tell me i really like the way you have it...I also play witha Fender speakers and a frender strat

  • This is the original Pinnacle II. I also have the new version . They seem prety close bu the box is smaller and it only has one footswitch. The boost select is via the switch now. Cant say i care for that but its still great. Contact Brian Wampler via email. He will answer all your questions.

  • hey man i really love the red pedal, sounds great, where can i get it the same way you have it. do i have to order it ? or it's a costume pedal, pls let me know man i really like it

  • The reason i built it like that was to help keep me from having to step OVER the other pedals and reduce space. I never hit the lower level pedals by accident this way. But, to each his own.

  • How do I get that amazing red distortion pedal you got there? Great sounding pedalboard, cheers!

  • this is a great board but i would hate steping up like that

  • Grampa Eric!! Wow how cool. Cant see calling Julie Grandma though!! HA!

Bless you both. Enjoy the grandbaby. Its a wonderus thing!!

  • Subscribed Cuz! This is Frenchy BTW. The wife and I are gonna plan on coming out to see you all soon. I'm a grandpa now too you'll have to see it to believe it. See you soon.

  • Great pedals.

But i really think the secret is in you hands.

    Great play.

    Regards

    CP

  • Carlos, thats the coolest thing anybody ever said about me. Thanks bro. I am not worthy!

  • Yeah I understand that I don't have too too much distortion on my amp right now but I put a decent amount of gain in there I posted a video for you but for some reason it got deleted so I'm gonna upload you another video so you can tell me what you think of the tone I'm getting out of this amp now.

  • This is now a principle that I live by in every amp/guitar/pedal setup I use. I have a JSX Joe Satriani half stack that I use in the current rock band I am with and I run the gain on about 2 or 3.

  • Oh and I was also wondering if your going to being using the new pinnacle and not the old would you be opposed to selling me the older version? If your not using it of course....

  • My son confiscated it (so he thinks!!) for a while as I am breaking in the new one. One last thing; I read years ago and interview with Hury Lewis's guitar player. He said that the secret to getting a bigger sound is to use as little distortion as you can get away with, as opposed to saturating in with gain. it makes sense. Stevie Ray had a HUGE sound and used nothing. It's a lot easier to shred with all that fuzz and gain but the guitar disapeers in the mix of the band.

  • Hey Mark I got my setup with the Fender Hot Rod now I think this thing sounds sweet. I was wondering though if you could send out a video of you playing through only the 2x12 Hot Rod with the pinnacle because I have been debating whether to get one or not because the settings I have now sounds great but if you can show what kind of rockin' tones you can get out of that thing with the settings posted then that would be great. I am also going to send you a video of my setup so u can see how it is.

  • As soon as the weather warms up a bit I am going to record my new Pinnacle pedal and some other stuff. I will record this for you too. Right now its 17 degrees in the rock & roll barn!! Brrrr!!

  • Awesome playing and your rig sounds great man!!!Thanks for the help and heads up! keep rockin!

  • very nice mate

  • both amps were at Treble-8, mid-6, bass-3.

Fulltone set to vintage with the tone real trebly, bright switch set to OFF,

  • thank you very much

  • The Keely is on during the whole demo.

I am actually playing through both amps at the same time. I use a TC Electronic chorus and a Boss Gigadelay and both are stereo so I have the left side going to the left amp and right to the right amp. The idea is to get a 'BIG' sound but not always a 'LOUD' sound on stage.

  • wut settings do u have for the deville and the fulltone fulldrive

  • and is the keeley compressor on during the whole demo

  • i really like your playing and your sounds and i have a few questions. Which amp are you going into while doing the fulltone fulldrive? And if you remember, what were your settings?

  • This was one of the ealier versions. Brian has improved the design and that is the version sold on his website. I have both pedals and while I still love my old pedal I think the new version is better. Email Brian and ask him about it. He is a great guy who stands behind this great pedal.

  • hi mark, why is your pinnacle have 2 switches? what is that extra kick in? is it available?

  • what is that red distortion on the left side? thanks...

  • It is called a Pinnacle II made by Brian Wampler at Wampler Pedals. I consider it the best distortion pedal on the planet.

  • the whammy is in the input withthe fuzz and all that stuff. I also use a Banshee Talkbox in that setuo now.

  • Oh and I saw a video of you playing a whammy do you put that in the FX loop when played because when I put it straight in the chain it totally robs my tone

  • Dang! Those are some bright settings for a Fender I'm guessing some of those pedals fatten your tone pretty big time?

  • HA, you are right! On the Fenders it was

Treble-8, mid-6, bass-3. I only use the clean channel on both amps and the volume is on about 3.

  • Oh and I just realized from the comments you have been sending your playing through the JSX right now I'm playing through the Fender hot rod deville 2x12....what were your settings for that because i play my gain through that tonebone and the gain channel on 3 i think....

  • Alright I'll do that I think I am building a pedal board tomorrow so once I've got it all setup ill make sure to send a video..

  • When I was using my Stratocaster I used the Keeley but when I started using the JS1000 and the PRS it squashes it down pretty hard and I have not found a good settin on it yet. I think it has another gain type adjustment inside that I need to take a look at. The newer Keeley's have the knob on the outside. It causes a small gain in hiss/hum but not too bad. Post some video of your setup. I would love to see it. tell me about yourself and your gear.

  • ok cool I guess I already somewhat think like you my settings are about exact except a little less gain on the crunch channel. I use a tonebone hot british for my distorted tones. Does keeley compressor tighten up your chords without compromising dynamics too much? And does it cause a ton of hum?

  • Oh and one more thing (don't mean to be a nag) but are all of these pedals set in your fx loop? because from my experience most distortion/overdrive pedals sound garbage in the fx loop...

  • Your not being a nag at all. Its all cool. The only ones in the FX loop are the delay, chorus, and the vibrato/tremolo pedal. The Fulldrive, compressor, Tuner, Wah, and distortion pedal go right into the main input.

  • Oh and I was also wondering what your amp settings are...such as are you on the clean channel or drive or more drive/ EQ settings?

  • Pretty much the same on the crunch and ultra. Treble-5, mid-5, bass-6, volume-6, gain-4. on the clean channel its treble-7, mid-6, bass-4. Master volume on about 6.

  • Are those the stock speakers?

  • Yes, they are the chrome ones.

  • james is a dirty scott

  • james who?

  • Ths one is one of the first ones made and it does not have a vintage/modern switch that I am aware of.

  • Do you remember what were the settings on the Pinnacle in the vid? Was it set vintage or modern? Nice sound

  • hey mark was just checking out pedal board shit on the tube and ran into your vid how are you? hit me back george potsos

  • Good to hear from you George.

  • I see you have casters on your fender deville... I have the 410 as well... what did you use for casters?

  • I bought some at Home Depot and just installed them myself. Around 20 bucks for 4 of them.

  • Hey Mark! First wanted to say your setup sounds great! I wanted to ask if you built your own actual pedal board because its one that I may really want for my own rig. I like how yours has two levels and i currently own just one of those heavy duty metallic cases from StageMaster and only fits maybe about 7 of your Pinnacle 2's. I've got a bigger set of pedals and looking for a bigger pedal board as well. If you did build your own, I hope you could show me how. Thanks. cheers.

  • Hey do you guys travel any, I'm down in Ft. Smith Arkansas..love to have u guys come down!

  • Sure, talk to me!

  • Mine is the red pedal in the video. It is an older one. I think Bryan Wampler has made some improvements to it and redesigned the box just a little.

  • hey man i am gettin the pinnacle 2 but mine is shaped differently like that blue pedal you have.. how did u get yours like that?

  • I fell in love with that Pinnacle 2 that you play there. It sounds amazing! Especially when you kick the boost on. Does the Pinnacle 2 have some good harmonics? I was thinking of getting a Ds-1 keeley mod first and getting this too. I have a question too. I have a Boss CS3 Compressor sustainer pedal and when I use that with distortion I get this really bad feedback. I'm using the distortion from my Boss ME-50. What do you think it is? the gain isn't even half way and it does that.

  • I had a boss cs3 and it worked well with the Pinnacle. I ended up getting a Keeley Compressor, which is ON in this video and I think it makes a hell of a great difference.

  • did you put the compressor before or after the pinnacle? I got the Plextortion by the way. Sweet pedal. I don't run it through a tube but it still sounds sweet! Pretty soon, though. I'm working on a Peavey Classic 30

  • hahaah nvm don't reply. Obviously i wasn't paying attention to the video. It comes right before your full drive.

  • Question - Do you recall what delay settings you had on your DD-20

  • It has 4 saveable preset locations. 1 is the smooth setting. usually around 400 ms but I have a tap switch and adjust it to the tempo during the shows. the second is the same as the first but the wet/dry mix is 'wetter', third is a little weird. I use it for only one song; all along the watchtower. the feedback setting is set way up so it holds a note for about 30 seconds, and the last is the tape eco setting with two heads.

  • Very Cool !!!

  • You seem to have expensive taste in pedals so aren't you using a t rex replica delay or tc electronic delay?

  • Never heard either of them. Never heard of the T rex. I just bought what my ears told me to. Had nothing whatsoever to do with the price of the pedal.

  • He said youtubey :P

  • what kind of pedal board is that?? and how much?

  • I built it myself from 1/4 inch plywood, glue, and some flat black spraypaint. Its Much cheaper and better built because you can custom fit it to your pedals.

  • the red one pedal is Pinnacle II overdrive/distortion ? is it right? it sound so cool

  • yes, thats the one.

  • Thats a sweet sound, man. I noticed that you don't have a noise gate or anything on your board though...and you're getting quite a bit of hum when you kick in both sides of that custom red pedal, so I would invest in one. Just advice. Otherwise, sweet stuff =D

  • yeah some people cant take the loss of sound that comes with every noise gate~

  • get an ISP DECIMATOR BEST NOISE GATE OUT THERE

  • The JSX has a built-in Noise gate. I just did not have it ON when I recorded this video.

  • Nice.

  • How does that fulldrive 2 sound? I'm looking for something that is kind of smooth for an Eric Johnson sound, yet versatile. Iplay a strat with a Hot Rod Deluxe.

  • Eric uses a Fuzzface with a lot of delay for his heavey lead sounds. They say he has also used the Fulltone 69 pedal. Also I know he uses the old Chandler Tube Driver.

  • the fulldrive two? I own one and it along side my jeckyll and hyde pedal is a dirty mixture of drives and distortion. But the fulldrive 2 alone is an oincredible american made drive pedal which i highly recommend because of its delicious tone.

  • really nice sounds..but wow Mark thats the smallest 2x12 amp ive ever seen..

  • It may have been the 1x12. Im not sure. I had the 4x10, 2x12, and 1x12 and sometmes got them confused.

  • thanks for the reply. it realy didnt matter, you play great and the effects are worthy of sharing. i just bought 2 Pro Junior 1x10's so yours looked familiar...gave me ideas ! i think thats a Pro Junior 1x10 on the left and Blues Junior 1x12 on the right...no biggy.

  • They are still out there in the barn where I recorded this and I checked today. The one on the right is a HotRod Deville with 4 10"s and the one on the left is a HotRod Deluve with 1 12".

  • Wow, great sound!

  • MARK,

Could you tell me if the Pinnacle 2 sounds better good ,warm and dynamic, close to the Steve Lukather sound , if you see what i mean.i have a Black star HTdistx with one tube inside from England, but it doenst sound enough warm for me.i need your opinion please.thank you for your good job!

    Pat

  • Well, the pedal has an extremely wide tonal range and I think you could find that sound pretty easily. Brian Wampler (the maker of the Pinnacle) offers a pretty good return policy so if you dont like it you can at least return it to him. He will work with you. Very cool guy!.

  • THanks! You should put some videos up of your band

  • Hello - I'm the drummer in Mark's band. I'm hosting the videos on my youtube page - user name is JoeDrumma, or you can just search for Arbogast and you'll fine them.

  • Thanks you so much for telling me this!!

  • The 'tape' delay.

  • Thank you very much

  • Hi you have a very nice setup. What kind of delay are you using when you are demoing your wah.

  • Wow nice selection! you got me rethinking my new board coming soon. Thanks for posting bra'

  • what do you think about full effects processors?? ...like boss gt6 or digitech gnx4

  • I love them. I was in a blues/rock band for a while so I went to the pedal type system because SRV and guys like that used pedals over processor stuff to achieve the sounds they wanted. No im back to a more 60s & 70s hard rock style and the pedals suit that too because thats what they used back then too. I love the Zoom stuff. Line 6 stuff it hot too!

  • Quite a fine board you have! I'm looking into getting a compressor, wah and a big muff. I would like to learn some Pink Floyd solo's and riffs. Any suggestions. I'm running a Fender 65 DR tube amp. Thanks....

  • Thats a real nice amp I am told. I always research the players I want to emulate or learn from and try to get as close as I can to the equipment they are using. Of course you cant own everything but most of the great players are using the same types of things like Crybabys, Chorus and the like. When Joe Satriani started using the old cheap Boss DS1 orange distortion pedal that was an eye opener. It showed the world that you dont have to pay 100s and 1000s for gear to be a great sounding player.

  • i read that he actually used a keeley modded ds-1 ultra, which makes the price over $100 :-P

  • satriani...that is :-P

  • I belive you are correct. But its still a cheap pedal compared to some, even with the mod.

  • FUCKIN NICE PRS

  • i have the giga delay pedal... the one on the top left.. and it's amazing!!

  • totally!! i couldnt go without it. i tried others and liked this one best.

  • what kind of guitar effects do you use? i really need to know, please tell me?

  • In no particular order they are, a Boss DD20 delay, TC Electronic chorus. Carl Martin TremoVibe, Fulltone Fulldrive II, Fulltone Fatboost, Keeley compressor, Pinnacle II overdrive/distortion, Fulltone clyde Deluxe wah wah pedal.

  • where did you get that pedalboard?

  • I built it myself.

  • Good stuff, dude. Are you running the chorus and dd-20 stereo I assume? If so, could you explain how you route them? I see you've got them in the loop - Are you running your guitar (with effects) into both amps first? I'm loving my dd-20 and shopping for a second amp because of it. thanks for your help.

  • I have changed my live setup receintly. I still have this rig but I am using a JSX halfstack live right now. On this setup I used the clean channels only with distortion pedal and everything went right in the inputs (no FX loop).

  • dude you know what you're doing and how to play. nothing but respect from me, i love this setup. sweet!!!!

  • another good video

  • Hey Mark.Nice bit of lead work. When you are using the Pinnacle pedal, are you using it by itself or is that with other pedals running with it?If so,what? You have a nice sound to your set-up.I've been looking for that kind of Gary Moore-still got the blues cd sound of his leads and your sound is pretty close!!Steve

  • I have the Keely compressor on too. sometimes i have the fatboost on to get more volume but not in this video. I still have this setup but since i re-formed my babd and we are doing mostly 70s hard rock I bought a Joe Satriani JSX half stack. it sounds pretty good with the same pedals.

  • hey there. Could you tell me your settings on the full drive 2? I like what you've done and I can't quite get that sound from mine.

    thanjs

  • I have the toggle switch set in the middle position. Volume about 3 or 4. THe tone knob is almost all the way right which makes it really bright. I have the first drive knob pretty low and the second boost knob about 5 or 6. It sounds better on the video than it does live though.

  • his yr wah pedal plauged in the amp first and all the others cumming off the wah???

  • Yes, it goes; Fulltone Clyde Deluxe Wah, Keeley Compressor, Fulltone Fatboost, Fulltone Fulldrive II, and Pinnacle II and then to the amp. The delay tremelo and chorus are in the FX loop.

  • nice could u tell me wat overdrive pedal 2 get the 1 on my boss me50 pedal sounds shit
