I'll say this...I think Ricky Bell "grew into" and developed his voice over time to the point where he became a very good vocalist. It was right around the Heartbreak album/the first BBD album where he hit that "lead singer" level. You can tell that the command over his voice wasn't quite there in the earlier New Edition years...in my opinion, that is.

Bobby had stormed off stage two nights before this performance at a concert in Orlando because a woman pulled on his pants and his pants fell down while performing and he got mad. He was late getting on the flight to LA to perform at this Soul Train Awards but he and Whitney made it to the after party he was late and Brooke wouldn't let him perform and he was heated he took a picture with Biggie the night he died so did Ricky. All six members were at Biggie's after party the night he was killed.
