  • I know of a great product for people who are suffering from this disease. It's packed full of nutrition too. Check out JennsViChallenge.myvi.net. This product is great for anybody and any body type. I know the lists of food is short for people who are celiac, so I hope this gives you one more option anyway. Take Care

  • I know you posted this a few years ago but the Freedom Food products are no longer available. I checked out the website and it seems as if they may of deleted products from some of the categories. It's a pity b/c my 2 year old daughter is sensitive to gluten, dairy and soy however she totally loves donuts. She didn't go much on the lamingtons and nor did I, when you defrost them the coating seeps through the cake and goes really mushy. The Patties pies are awesome too.

  • I love the pies by this brand :D They are better than normal pies <3

  • you are super helpful. i got diagnosed yesterday and i'm very upset about it. i guess i can make it work!

  • we dont have over here (usa) :(..but i have found 2 Arrowhead Mills products at henreys store! harray.. its an all purpose baking mix..so these holidays will still be great-as far as baking! maybe someone will have those over here

  • anybody know any good websites in usa?

  • you are gorgeous :)

  • Do you know what frustrates me? I was at a wedding last weekend and I purposely avoided the cake and asked a lot of questions about what contained gluten. It wasn't until the main course came when I told the servers that I had a gluten sensitivity that they LIED to me and told me that my food was gluten free. 5 minutes later, I was in the bathroom feeling like crap and I couldn't dance with my wife or socialize with other people. Pisses me right off!

  • Not available in the states? That sucks!

  • I know xxx

  • I love your necklace.....

  • Thanks x

  • milf

  • Pig.

  • Btw- the pig comment was to nbalakers69.

  • xxx

  • i have found some great online recipes for gluten free food :D i have made some crepes and muffins with rice flour and they were awesome! I am going to be learning how to make my own chinese food since the chinese places in town use soy with wheat. i miss ham fried rice and egg rolls as well as other dishes... try cooking with rice flour and just substitute it in place of wheat in normal recipes.

  • Good for you-there are all sorts of substiutes...thanks for your suggestions xxx

  • Good for food alergies, but beware any additives and especially sugar in those packaged items! Cheers from Cairns! :)

  • Yeah-now we just need the to be calorie free!!!!!! LOL xxxxxx

  • When i first had my GF donut!

i too felt like hoomer simpson!

High Five for australian gluten free food!

  • They are quite good, aren't they??? The lamingtons are great too!!!!!! Aussies have GREAT choice xxxxxxxx

  • Ugg I want some donuts! I just ate "corn chips" in the u.s. and found out the hard way they were made in a factory with wheat!

  • Bummer- yes the US surprisningly needs to catch up

  • Australia is like the mecca of GF foods, i came across a blog....i drooled and drooled then i followed the links to the websites...and i drooled somemore :'(

I sent out a couple emails myself (quite alot actually) no good replies yet.

But then again i'm in the Caribbean....sigh...

  • I'll bet it is tricky there, huh? Yes-it really is very good in Australia xxxxxxx

  • I came across a gold mine today tho XD !!

  • Ooooh great! x

  • Hi, wow you have a lot of products in Australia! In Cyprus we have very little stuff available so I decided to publish my own cookbook and I have just start making my own healthy cooking shows that are vegan, gluten free, sugar free etc and really enjoy making them and helping people. I live here but i am accutally from Norway. It is a lot better in Norway for gluten free & intolerances. Scary news about the identity theft. But thanks for letting us knnow. Anette

  • Anette-sorry for the delayed response-don't know how i missed you...i think i may have sent you a separate message??? Anyway-that's great what you are doing-feel free to add videos to our Happy Celiacs Group!!! xxxxxxxx

  • There's not alot of GF food in theU.S. because our our Health care providers don't make any money off Celiac, We take an avrage of 10yrs to get diagnosed after the first visit to our Doc's they want us on drugs so they can cash in. I have been told I had an ulcer and colitis and that I was just crazy and I was given pills and Finaly at 35yrs old I was tested and Now I feel great, But my Dr.'s are not happy so in the U.S. we don't need GF food cause only a few of us know we need it,,

  • So great you finally know what you have AND you have shown your doctors about it now too. Perhaps they will diagnose a lot quicker for the next one!!! xxx

  • We don't have ANY of those ones that you just showed here in Sweden :(. There are many gluten intolerant people here in Scandinavia, but surprisingly we don't have that many gluten free products.

I'm actually planning on going to live in Australia for 1 year, so it will be interesting to see what sort of gluten free products I'll find in your stores.

    Thank you for this video!

  • That's a pleasure-try your health food stores xxx

  • You're hot! <3!!

  • You didn't sound rude-i was only teasing!!! have a look in the supermarket and you will find the flour pretty easily. Some are better than others. I have to say those lamingtons in the box are pretty nice!!! xxx

  • I DO bake actually- i was only showing those products out of interest. You can buy all sorts of gluten free flour these days at either your supermarket or health food store. I still bake cakes and just use the substitute-you can't tell at all.

  • Hey

I am coming to Australia, I am celiac. Can you tell me the names of some restaurants in Sydney, Canberra, or Cairnes that have gluten free options? Thanks!!

    -rabbitrock3

  • You will be fine everywhere-people will help you in all the restaurants...wow-sounds like a great holiday-have fun!!! xxx

  • o wow i didnt even kno aboutur channel or that u made a video response to my video until just now!!..thanx for sharing!..but im about to delete my celiac video and make a new one going into more detail about the disease..il let u kno when tis up so u can repost these as a repsonse!

  • Absolutely- good for you- yes i saw your video and was worried about you! xxx

  • Megan, I have been totally gluten free (including oatmeal) for 10 days. I feel so fantastic. I found gluten-free flours at the health food store and made some great chocolate chip cookies with garbanzo bean and rice flour and althought it sounds strange, they were really good and also high in protein. Thanks. Love, Andie

  • YUM!!!! I wonder if you are celiac like me- it makes me feel so much better not eating gluten...now i just need to stop champagne! x

  • I may be but I just plan on avoiding gluten rather than getting the official diagnosis. I really do feel much better.

  • yeah- why not? That's great that you are willing to do that! xxx

  • Hello jewelchic!

Thank you so much for sharing all thisinfo on celiacs and gluten-free. I myself have been diagnosed this week and it really sux. It's great to finaly know what it is that's wrong with my body, and to confirm that all those phantom illnesses were one: CD.

Anyhow, thanks again for your videos.

    Kisses from Spain :)

  • Always happy to help- maybe you could do a video on products there...at least you have the beautiful paella there!!! Love Megan x

  • thank you for sharing I will check them out and see if my local supermarket can place an order here in the states.

  • Helloooooo! I wondered where you have been! Some people have said that there are quite a lot of foods in the States...google gluten free and youyr area and you will be quite surprised! Love Megan x

  • I guess the US thinks we need to make our own..lol..most of the packaged stuff is yucky tasting IMO. Here in the US they order alot of the GF stuff from Canada.

  • can I just be a glutten ??

  • Me too? x

  • As 1 in 150 kids have autism here, I think that gluten free is getting more important. We have had the donuts. Kids loved them.

My sponge recipe uses gluten free. So so yummy!

  • Does eating gluten free help your kids? Also use the GF Orgran self raising flour for cakes that are great!

  • My kids are in the most part gluten and casein (milk sugar) free. Autism is mostly affects their brain wiring, but also affects their bowells and their behaviour. My 3 kids with autism all have better behaviour, better concentration and better bowell function (usually their poo is like thick sticky clay mud..very hard to wipe) when they dont have gluten or casein.

  • My greengrocer is brilliant and stocks a huge range of gluten free things for us. Cake mixes, cakes, donuts, pasta, biscuits and breads.

Autism affects one in 50 children in Lara. Highest in australia I think, so he has made a good sideline of it.

  • Is it diagnosed at birth? Could it be the effect of something external?

  • Its not diagnosed at birth. They still dont know what causes it. It is in some part genetic, but maybe just a disposition as no single gene has been pinpointed.

Stephanie was fine until she was about 18 months and then gradually the spark went out. It was heartbreaking to watch. I have a video of her singing twinkle twinkle with all the actions and then there was nothing but a screaming unresponsive child who looked at nothing.

  • "mmmmmmm .... forbidden donut" - Must resist else I'll look like Homer Simpson! 'coeliac dot co dot uk' is the best source of info I've found here, they maintain an annual directory of gluten free products. Similar charity in australia?

  • Hey that's great info- thanks! xxx

  • I've asked the uk coeliacs charity to get in touch and offer you some support here on YT, Megan, moral if nothing else! We'll see if I get a reply.

  • That's great Chris- are you actually Celiac too ? xxx

  • Don't think so, no, judging by the remaining weight I still need to lose! I'm more in danger of getting type 2 diabetes if I don't beat that. I seem to be gluten sensitive though, and being vegetarian I'm used to searching for the healthy alternatives, hence my interest. My fave snack's Rice Works Sweet Chili Brown Rice Crisps - gluten free and yummy.

  • Mmmmm-they soung good! Yes- you do NOT want to get diabetes.

  • Freedom foods are sold here in the states at the following locations. Safeway, IGA, Coles,

Woolworths and Healty Food for life. I will go to the Safeway tomorrow and have a look see. :-) We tend to buy all our Gluten free products in the HealthFood Stores here in the states and there are quite a few of them now a days.

  • ooooh FANTASTIC!!! Are you always Gluten free? Maybe you could do a video for my Happy Celiacs group about what is available there!

  • missy, what is your opinion on the playstation 3?

  • I'd love to see that lamb dish. I hope you video it and put it on. Thanks Megan! Light and love!

  • Can't imagine that comming from the land of vegimite and kangroo jerky that I should trust any of that.

  • Us gluten free people cannot eat good old Vegemite- but luckily there is a gluten free alternative these days! xxx

  • Looks VERY DELICIOUSE!! You're right, we are deprived here !!

  • mmmmmmmmmmmm xxx
