SCARY - cutting without safety. How many fingers does this operator still have? No lightbarriers AND you can release the cut with a footpedal still keeping fingers under the knife.

This is not even allowed in China. Hasn't been allowed in Europe / US for at least 40 years.

Omg! We use these at work, and every time he puts his hand under that blade I cringe! Safety buttons please!

Obviously not an experienced cutter operator. He is not jogging material to side guide. No way his cuts are square. Safety features have clearly been removed. In USA that cutter would not be fit for use.

Why is an air system safe? Is this a place where it's cheaper to replace an injured worker than to consider saftey.

That is not an air system. It uses an electric motor, flywheel and a pull arm to move the knife. The clamp is also electrically operated. This machine should require two-hand operation but someone has "rigged" the wiring to increase production. As an experienced cutter operator I would not touch that thing with a ten foot pole.

I wouldn't go near it either, all the air system does is float the paper on the cutter bed to make it easier to move. As someone whos business is is to work on these machines, this video is VERY disturbing to me.

I second that, I have worked with machines such as these for nearly 7 years now and there is no way I'd put my hands anyway near a cutter without two-hand operation. Just watching this makes my skin crawl.

you should not be able to operate that cutter with just a pedal, that's a good way to lose a hand...
