What a sweetheart! I volunteered at my local Humane Society today and got to spend time with another beautiful kitty who just happens to have CH...and he is just the most affectionate and lovable cat ever! I wish I could take him home. Oh, and I have a cat named Zero, too!! (And I thought I was clever in naming him that!)

I have a kitten who has seizures and is mostly blind. I didn't however know why she was so unsteady on her feet and so aggressive with her attacks until today when I came across these video's of cats with CH. Your cat reminds me of my Peony. Check out my videos and tell me what you think.
He's simply adorable!! I rescued a CH kitten from a nearby farm. I'm so glad I did. She's the most loving, playful and happy cat I've ever had. I'm glad others see what a blessing these guys are!
aww, this is wonderful! thank you so much for taking care of this cat. i would love to care for a cat that has cerebellar hypoplasia, because i know a lot of people wouldn't want to take care of one because they're different. this is wonderful & your cat is gorgeous!
Thanks for the comment, and I completely agree. I'm sorry to hear about your CH kitty...it's so hard losing a pet. Zero also is strictly indoors, but that's not too much of a problem considering he's scared of anything outdoors (including the wind), hehe. They really make wonderful (not to mention extremely lovable) pets.
It's great to see that people care about animals like this, a lot of people stray away from animals who are not in "perfect" conditions by typical standards. I have a cat who has three legs and a cat who had to have her jaw rewired and is blind in one eye... Even though they look different, they're the best cats I've ever had! :o)

oh, thi is shit. He's "special". It sounds like "i don't want to say he's a freak and/or not normal, so he's special".HILARIUOS.He's a Normal kitty, and
Zero is a "special" cat in that he is not normal; according to standards of how "normal" cats act. His disorder causes him to act quite abnormally, in fact.
I would appreciate it if we kept the conversation light around this video, please. There's no reason to get angry about anything.
i'm sorry if i offend you. but i hate how people don't like to say that he is a freak, or not normal, so they say that he is special. ofcourse if you like that kind of saying, then i am worng. I apologize.
I don't think so, Zero doesn't shake or have tremors, but your best bet is to google the symptoms or see your vet. Usually, CH does not just display itself in just one part of the body, to me that sounds like nerve damage. Zero is just wobbly when he moves because of how his Cerebellum is affected by the disorder.
Thanks, he'll be seeing the vet tomorrow. I hope all will be well with him. And congratulation's on having such an adorable pet, Zero is handsome and the slight spaziness is very endearing :)
Thank you! Yeah, Zero's spazziness is definately endearing...he is such a lovable cat. I hope everything turns out alright with your kitty :) Keep me posted!
Yes, it's his condition that makes him very wobbly and spazzy. The condition affects a cat through their Cerebellum, so the muscles don't work quite right.
Yes, there are ways to tell. My advice would be to go to a vet to have your cat properly diagnosed ASAP (just in case your cat has a more serious neurological disorder that you don't know about).
CH cats also have the disorder in different levels of severity; Zero happens to have a mild case. I would also Google search symptoms of CH and see if it matches up with how your cat is acting.
With a little patience and extra care, CH is not a difficult disorder to manage. They make wonderful pets.
I'm actually making a project of Feline cerebellar hypoplasia and Canine cerebellar abiotrophy which are smiliar conditions and the more I study this condition the more these animals tend to be very special. Good luck to you and your cat
He´s really cute. :) My cat is normal (though pretty shy with people), but I had hamsters with half a leg twice. They were really sweet, and one of them lived to a ripe old age for a hamster. She was actually the tamest I ever had.
What a beautiful, happy little boy! He really is so sweet, and I commend you and other happy owners that take such good care of animals with his condition. Not that I would trade my own sweet little girl kitten,b ut if I'd known taht there were cats like this, I might have looked for shelters to take one in before looking for "regular" kittens.
Thank you...it really is wonderful having cats with this condition, they are so lovable and responsive to attention. Zero is the best cat I've ever had (and as you've seen by the video he's a frisky little thing! haha) And there are tons of these animals that are euthanized sleep each year just because they are a bit "wobbly."
Again, thank you for the comment! Glad you enjoyed the video. :)
If we ever get another cat, where would you look for the ones with Cerebellar Hypoplasia? We did rescue Luna from a humane shelter, but didn't even think to ask about special needs cats. Is it difficult caring for him?
he's purring so he's as happy as can be, what an angel of God!
