moosiah... Diesel engines do NOT rely on fuel for upper cylinder lube. If unburned fuel contacts the cylinder walls, there is definitely something wrong with the engine. This is the same for direct-injection or pre-chamber designs. The fuel begins to burn almost immediately after leaving the injector tip.
your correct "lincTexPilot", i think the only problem would be the tar that the woodgas produces if the filter is not good enough. But i was not aware that woodgas ignites like does diesel in a compression engine, amazing.
Glennimmortal - You MUST still have a very small shot of diesel from the injector to "get the fire started". Once the fire starts, it will burn the gas vapors. I know some people in the US that have free natural gas from a gas well on their property, and they have reported that a Diesel will run at full power when the proper amount of natural gas is introduced into the induction air and only burn 10% diesel. But, you must have some diesel injected to get the fire started.
@Rhinoch8 - wrong, if you use 100% natural gas or wood gas, you MUST use a spark plug. If you run 90% woodgas, and 10% diesel the engine will not (might not) need to be modified. The woodgas or natural gas can be introduced into the intake air. it is just like "propane Injection" on diesel trucks. Search that.
@LincTexPilot Okay thanks. But you can run WVO 10-20% instead of Diesel right? You could even heat the WVO running it, not in the heat exchanger cooling system, but on the gasifier core!
@Rhinoch8 - Correct, you could use WVO. A diesel engine must have some liquid fuel injected by the pump and injector to get "the fire started". It will then burn whatever fuel is in the combustion chamber.
frm what I know ,it's just like running a diesel on propane . you need the diesel injection to light the woodgas/air mix in the cyl . it acts like a spark plug in a petrol engine..PS my cousins are from udonthani I lived there too.,,,,, post more on your project.
Diesels rely in part on the actual fuel for upper cylender lubrication. My understanding of "gasifier" is that the mass material becomes vapor. How much lube does that give?
The difference in wear is probably not significant. If you don´t have to pay for the solid fuel, savings on diesel fuel should more than pay for repairs due to increase wear.....so I assume.
we make this peoject for public work non government with non profit . we have renewable energy fair 2 times per year in Thailand . no more time for support out of country
Looks like they're doing a type of woodgasifier. Not taking to biodiesel but doing a direct gas conversion in that burner unit that looks sort of like a BBQ -- sitting behind the big blue diesel pump or generator unit at the end of the video.

if you are going to post here in America, you need to post in English otherwise people have no idea what you are talking about. YES palm oil is one of the best future fuels and diesel engines can run on it straight from the press not prossesing and it is a CLEAN BIO FUEL !!!
I was trying to help you understand why so many people are saying "WTF is this" ; it's because they don't understand you ! If I were posting in Portugal I would want to post in your mother tongue Portuguese, and in turn the point I was making is simple: post in the language of the people who are reading it otherwise your post is worthless !!! Bueno Muchacha?
So you'd rather not have a post like this one, that is minimally understandable without knowing what is written in the little lines it has? Maybe the person who made this video didn't felt like his/her knowledge of English, if any, would be enough to correctly convey information. If the video did have bad English on it, someone here would come crashing on him saying "learn how to fucking spell" instead of giving value to this information. And for your notice, "bueno muchacha" is Spanish.
No,I believe that after the oil is pressed out and sold that the waste fiber is burned to produce "Wood Gas" and the engine is actually running on the fumes of the burning rubbish after processing through a Gasifier

@LincTexPilot So basically you wouldn't need to put ANY sparkplugs system to run on 100% woodgas?

Sir
I am working with a NGO aswell, we want to run the cheap 1 cylinder chinese diesel engine on woodgas.
Did you remove the diesel fuel system ?
Did you build a basic carburator that sucks air from 1 inlet and woodgas from another ?
Did you remove the glowplug and replace it with a sparkplug ?
Or did u simply attach the hose to the airfilter ?
