Just my imput regarding the time signature...
Carter is playing 8ths on the hats (count along- 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 +) this means there are 8 quaver notes to a bar (quaver = half a beat) = 7/8
as opposed to if he was playing just quater notes on the hats (1 2 3 4) which would be 4 crotchet notes to a bar (crotchet = a full beat) this would of course make it 7/4

@mungo6000 I believe you're correct. I guess it all depends on how you would write it out on sheet music. All you would have to do is change the quarter notes to eighth notes and you'd have 7/8, but it would definitely work better in 7/4. In that case, I've never heard 7/4 swing so hard!
