  • Magnifique ! Quelle virtuosité, y compris au piano !

  • @recorder38 Merci beaucoup!

  • How did you record this? What kind of microphone do you use?

This is one of the best reordings I heard here on youtube!

I'm 14 now and I practice for this masterpiece. Thanks, you helped me very much!

  • @HanSoloPictures2000

I don't know what recording equipment was used, but I can tell you it was recorded in Wiedemann Hall on the campus of Wichita State University (Kansas). Thanks so much for the kind words, and best of luck with your musical endeavors!

  • @Joel418

    Thank you very much! ;)

  • WOW. I think the pianist was having trouble keeping up with you there at the end! Never heard the end taken so fast...and it was clean! Dang! Nice job!

  • @snowflaky21 Thanks!

  • Thanks a lot ! =D

  • Amazing ! We really can hear the sax, and really thanks, I have to work this for an audition, but I really have some difficulties. .T_T However, this recording is really helpful for my work :) If you have a piece of advice on the technic for this piece.

    That would be great (:

And sorry for my bad english, i'm french ^^' x)

  • @SmoothieLikesNirvana

  • Wow. Very impressive, the Glazounov is so intense and you pulled it off wonderfully. What would be your number 1 piece of advice for anyone trying to learn this one? Thanks for the recording!

  • @saxbari

Thanks so much for the kind words!

On the technical side, really work to make all of the scales and arpeggios smooth and even. More importantly, however, is to really focus on the dialogue between the solo line and the piano/orchestra.

    Best of luck :)

  • excellent

  • @tdubasdfg

    Thanks!

  • i enjoyed your recording, think you can listen to mine on my page?

  • Thanks so much! I would be happy to listen to yours.

  • i dont know why but i just love 0:00 - 0:07 . i just really like it. anyways, great job!(:

  • Thanks! It's interesting that you picked out that moment, as I always thought of it as the kicking off of the second half of the work (which is of course why I split the track at that point).

  • I love the way you played this! Goodness, I can't get over it. Great tone. Very clean.

  • Thanks!

  • i would say that the only gripe that i have about this performance is the fact that once you got to box 24 (the 12/8 section), there wasnt enough space in between your quarter notes and eighth notes, so everythign just kind of blended together. there should have been more space in between them. other than that and the loud key clicking (which is no fault of yours), this was a wonderful performce

  • En realidad, se trata de una versión muy buena la que colgaste, gracias y felicitaciones por compartir y por tan buena interpretación.

  • Gracias por ses palabras simpaticos!

  • Excellent. Very well played. You have a very nice tone.

  • Excellent performance my friend, but you need to take care of finesses(don't know if this is spelled right, but you'll understand), i've heard some mistakes like attacking the last note in the phrase, some trillers are also not very impressive, and in my opinion, your tempo is too much "ad libitum", but those are things that have separated this performance from perfection. i won't spend too many words about your tone, it's outstanding!!! On 1-5 scale this performance is about 4.7

  • Thanks for the kinds words as well as the words of advice!

  • Thanks for the kind words!

At the time, I was playing a Yamaha Custom 875, with a Selmer S-80 mouthpiece (I liked the small bore's control), a Winslow ligature (special order product), and a number 3-1/2 vandoren reed. Basically, I just wanted a balanced approach instead of one that one too far in either direction.

Best of luck with the piece!

  • Hey, nice work man.

I bought this piece the other day and love it to pieces, gonna take quite a bit of work though!

Just wondering what your set up is as you have a nice tone?
