Bush gave the working class tax cuts and stimulus checks, Obama wants to leave our children with a 700 billion plus tax burden, and since the middle class and lower class (which make up the working class) largely outweigh the rich, they will be stuck paying for it. Some people believe that the type of weapons should be restricted, whereas others believe that any weapon, even a bazooka, is ok for private citizens to own. He does support the 2nd Amendment. The NRA continues to promote the lie that ANY reasonable gun safety law violates the 2nd, which is false. Assault weapons ban doesn't, and the idea that you WANT these weapons to slaughter cops and the government shows how obscenely wrong this thinking is.

You're very misinformed. Assault weapons are already illegal. The weapons Obama intends on banning are not assault rifles, they are semi automatic, which requires one squeeze of the trigger per round. Assault rifles are fully automatic and a currently illegal for all americans except police, military and class III license holders. Do your homework before spouting praise for your messiah when you don't know the facts!

First off, NOBODY thinks Obama is the "Messiah," so YOU need to check some facts.
Secondly, does this ban that already exists on automatic weapons "violate the 2nd Amendment"? Obviously not. Reasonable safety laws don't violate the constitution, never did. The NRA remains a radical group which lies constantly about the 2nd Amendment, which opposes ALL safety guidelines, even the most moderate and reasonable. Obama supports gun rights, with reasonable restrictions, McCain supports the NRA.

Sorry, but you're wrong. A ban on semi-automatics is not a reasonable safety law, it is a complete and total ban on millions of firearms. The full intent and motive is not safety, but self preservation of the framework which would then continue to further restrict and erode our rights incrementally. All tyrants and dictators come into power under the disguise of good intentions. Obama is not telling the truth on his views on guns. Look at his history.
