if that was me operating the d11 i would walk up to the track plate then bite them !! then i would run around to the ripper and bang my head on it,then beat my chest while yelling, and put my hands over my eyes while running in circles around the machine,,why ?? cos im the best gun operator expert there is ! thats what i would do
KICK AS!! Now that is rippin up some dirt. There are different reasons why you would rip, one being that there are a lot of rocks in the soil, two, the ground may be frozen etc. etc. No matter what, if the operator is having to do that, it is because the scraper is unable to "scrape" the ground, or they could be getting ready to use a backhoe to put in a water line whatever. There are many reasons why they would be doing this.
@cougguy09 fuck no till! i hate farmin with all the shit still in the furrow...might work with soybeans on top of corn but when u rip out an almond orchard and you wanna plant rowcrops this needs to be done first
this is a poor display off power why don't you come to the oil sands when its -55 and the frost is 15 feet down and the ripper cuts 6'' at a time on a d11T you clowns don't have a clue
@PHER2008 you 8430 would be spinning its tires try to pull that. to be more truthful a 10 leg para-till in the right dirt would give your deere a stroke you be dropping back into the low numbers like 5 and 4 or even 3. if you wanna know what kind of balls any large tractor has hook it to the para-till
They put a shank or ripper in the ground to break up the soil. Plus the rocks will stop a 627 dead in its tracks. Makes it easier on equipment and operators.
@thirstyhank....I've been up there ripping that shit, it was -51 up there before Christmas & 6 ft of frost.....but I've never seen the frost 15 ft deep before.
950hp D11 actually. Has the new motor with some tweaking done to it. EPA in California requires cleaner running motor's.
As for the ripper, built it ourselves. We sat down and thought of it for farmers to change their soil by bringing the good bottom soil up. But we could also leave that bottom soil on the bottom if the customer would want.
Must be nice. Where I live it is nonthing but stone. When they put in the gas line up through our road the contractor used blasting caps. A 21 inch shank could not do the job.
Wider shatter of hard pan. Will not build up for a long time. I ripped with this Shank 10 yrs ago for a farmer, he called me yesterday telling me that he took his crop out and got it ripped again by D 9's.He said they were getting 5 foot easy! That is how loose the soil was even after so many years after we ripped.
I am surprised the rate is only $325, up here there are places where that is a D9 rate.
I think I saw this machine in a Cat history book, beautiful writing, the author said something like "Imagine 800 draft horses going to their knees, but this machine won't", I believe it also said that (at that time) you guys were ripping for eucalyptus trees, great vid! Loved being able to see it being done.
Don't really need the blade cause the CAT is moving at a descent speed! With the Blade you have to remember the fact that it slows down the CAT a lot, especially when not needed!
Video is taking place in California's Central Valley
They planted Almonds.Usually most of the big farmers and developers use our normal shank that is about 8" wide for row crops and use our wide shank on either trees or if they want to bring the bottom soil up.Well we make the normal rips with the regular shank and split the centers with the wide shank.Though anything can be used based on what the customer wants and how much there whiling to spend.
Thank you,it means a lot to see supporters! This is the only reason the big land developers and farmers call us.Because we have a custom made wide shank. We might be giving our competitors a hint or two. This shank is made so if we pitch it a little forward, the bottom layer of soil will come up!
it all depends on the blocks sir!the longer the pass the better,so less turns equals less cash since turns and getting lined up takes a minute or so.And this isn't that long!I had to make 5 mile runs before and that was real hard to keep straight!but basically depends on what clients want
yeah we did tear it up pretty darn good!when we use this shank, afterwards when watered the ground drops and it leaves big holes, sometimes takes the trees with it
well in the long run, with this you don't have to water as much and get the trees leveled all at one height!plus they grow a lot faster and give you better crop.personal responces from farmers!
We charge $335 an hour.We move it as fast as we can.We are the co-pilot of the semi,so it is cheaper and faster to unload, load, and leave.Less hassle and charges on the customer. We just move it as is,usually our hauling guy does complain. For what we do in are customers farm, they say we are low balling ourselves and give way to cheap prices! We made non plantable ground, plantable!
we are the only ones with this wide shank, took us alot of thinking to make it sir.i heard a lot of people say we couldnt pull it,though we have pulled it at 8 foot with the blade on!the wide shank has features that can bring the bottom rich soil up and make un-agricultural land, plantable!or you can leave that soil down low if you have to much hardpan.depends what the farmers want!it also matters about skill on the shank joystick, the more you mess with it,the deeper depth you can get
That ripper is 21" deep not wide.I`m an engineer and that ain`t 21" wide
